Breed: Chow Chow
Firstly, I’d like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge chow chows for their January open show. The show was very well organised and ran very smoothly. I’d also like to thank my steward Andrea, for looking after me, it was nice to have a friendly face for my first appointment. Also thankyou so much to all exhibitors for bringing your dogs under me and battling the elements to get there. I had beautiful dogs to go over and I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Puppy (1,0) 1. Clare’s Norskov’s Regal Smooth Contender at Benoleo (imp dnk) 6 month old Smooth self red male, beautiful rich deep red, lovely head and expression, flat skull with good width, good bite and pigment. Clean dark eyes. Square in outline. Well off for bone and substance. Moved well going and coming. BP Junior (2,0) 1. Webb’s Beaconpride Juniper Berry at Chifido. 14 month old Black girl, who was enjoying her day. Feminine head with small thick well set ears, good bite and pigment, square in outline with enough bone for her size, level top line and short coupled with a high set tail. She was a little excitable on the move today, but once she settled she moved ok. 2. Markille’s Kingrock Blue Steel. 14 month old Blue smooth male. Lots to like about him. Slightly longer than 1. Masculine head with good expression. Clean oval eyes. Good bite and pigment. Well ribbed and level top line. Moved ok. Post Graduate (1,0) 1. Spanias’ Charids King of Hearts. 4 year old self red Male. Whilst he is on the smaller side, he is so balanced and compact, super square in outline. In good coat and beautifully presented. Expressionate head with thick small ears. Being picky id perhaps like a bit more width to skull. Beautiful bone and substance, well ribbed short coupled with a level top line. Well muscled throughout. He didn’t disappoint on the move. He moved effortlessly around the ring. Was pleased to award him RBOB Open (3,1) 1. Evan’s Sceptune Artemis Blaze avec Simcha. Light shaded red girl, of good size. Square in outline. The most beautiful head, good width to muzzle, good bite and pigment, clean dark eyes, small thick well placed ears with a flat broad skull, she displays a true chow scowl. Good bone front and rear, level top line, with well sprung ribs and short in couplings. She has a high set tail which sits flush over her back. Well muscled throughout with well let down hocks. She moved out beautifully out and back. Well deserved BOB. 2. Webb’s Chifido Dare To Dream. Shaded red girl, not in her best coat today. Square in outline, broad flat skull with well placed ears, good padding to muzzle, whilst remaining feminine, Good bite and pigment. Good bone and level top line. Preferred the movement of 1 today.
