Nordic Show Finnish Lapphund 

Thank you Nordic for this appointment & to the exhibitors for a fantastic entry. The temperaments on all the dogs were open & friendly. Every dog I judged was clean & well groomed. You should be very proud of your breed! 

Puppy 

1st 11 month old female of good size with the prettiest of heads. Correct skull to muzzle ratio, well defined stop, oval shaped eyes of dark colour, dark eyerims. Wide set, thick ears of good shape. Excellent bite & underjaw. Strong neck of good length leading into well placed shoulder, good forechest, strong straight forelegs leading into correct pasterns & oval feet. Correct body ratios with short strong loin. Strong topline leading into good croup, she has a thick puppy coat that can be deceiving until you go over her. Well angulated rear with straight hocks. Well set tail with excellent feathering. She was accurate fore & aft with correct length of stride. Well handled to Best Puppy & surely one for the future.  

2nd 8 month old female with very similar attributes to first, not as glamorous but very honest. Liked her size. Good skull to muzzle ratio, oval shaped eyes of dark colour, dark eyerims. A little low set ears of good thickness, a little large. Enough neck with well placed shoulder, forechest developing, still a little juvenile in front, super bone. Oval shaped feet. Good body ratios, good topline sporting profuse puppy coat another one that can be deceiving until you put your hands on her. Moderate rear angulation with straight hocks. With time & confidence her tail will complete the picture on the stand. Moved with accuracy fore & aft with correct length of stride once she stopped sidewinding. 

Junior 

1st 15 month old brown & tan male of decent size. Loved his colour. Handsome head with good skull to muzzle ratio. Oval shaped eyes matching his coat colour, dark brown eyerims, wide set ears a little large. Loved his length of neck. Excellent shoulder placement/angulation. Straight strong forelegs leading into beautiful pasterns & oval feet. Good forechest, excellent topline, ribs need to spring with age - he is still a junior. Short strong loin, good croup leading into well set tail with excellent feathering. Would like a tad more rear angulation & strength to rear. Moved with accuracy fore, a little close going away. Correct length of stride. Excellent coat texture of good length, just lacking his depth of undercoat that will complete the picture.  

2nd (1st in puppy) unlucky to come against this boy on the day, on maturity. 

Post graduate 

1st 3 year old brown & tan girl of good size. The most enchanting head of perfect ratios. Loved her thickness to muzzle. Oval shaped eyes matching her coat colour with dark brown eyerims. Wide set ears of good shape & thickess. Moderate length of neck with excellent shoulder placement & angulation. Well developed forechest. Straight strong forelegs, good bone. Excellent pasterns & oval feet. Excellent body ratios & spring of rib, level topline, short strong croup leading into perfect tail set with good feathering. Well angulated strong rear with straight hocks. Moved with accuracy fore & aft with effortless strides. In half a coat today with correct texture. Pushed hard for BOB, loved her. 

2nd 15 month old wolf sable female on the smaller side. Good skull to muzzle ratios, well defined stop, rounded skull, ears a little higher set of good size & thickness. Almond shaped eyes a lighter shade. Excellent length of neck, good shoulder placement & front angulation. Good forechest, straight strong forelegs, excellent Pasterns leading into oval shaped feet. Excellent body ratios, super strong topline with good tuck up, needs to mature in rib but does not detract, excellent length of croup with perfect tail set, the most beautiful feathering on her tail. Showing her immaturity to 1 as would expect from a junior. Excellent fore a little narrow going away. Excellent side profile with correct length of stride.

Limit 

1st 21 month old handsome boy of good size that excelled in head & expression. Excellent skull to muzzle ratio, super width of muzzle. Oval shaped eyes of dark colour & eyerims. Ears of good size, correct thickness & wide set, correct bite with good underjaw. Well placed shoulder with good angulation, forechest needs to develop a little along with spring of rib. Excellent bone, good pasterns leading into oval feet. Perfect body ratios with excellent top & underline. Strong croup leading into well set tail, would like a more feathering to complete the picture. Enough rear angulation would like a little more strength to be critical. Moved accurately fore & aft with correct length of stride in profile. With maturity he will only get better.  

2nd 3 year old male of good size, good skull to muzzle ratio. Well defined stop, oval shaped eyes a little light, dark eyerims. Shorter in neck, decent shoulder placement. Enough forechest. Straight strong forelegs, excellent bone, good Pasterns with oval shaped feet. Short strong loin, well developed ribs. Strong topline leading into correct croup. Well set tail with excellent feathering. Enough rear angulation. In movement a little wide coming towards, close in rear. Moderate strides in side profile. Profuse coat of good length & excellent texture. 

Open dog 

2 year old masculine male, well off for size with wonderful make & shape. Broad skull with perfect ratio to muzzle. Well defined stop. Oval shaped eye of dark colour & eyerims. Small well shaped ears of good thickness, set wide. Good bite & underjaw. Moderate length of neck, super clean flowing into well placed shoulder with good angulation, well developed forechest, good bone, straight strong forelegs leading into well angled pasterns & oval feet. Good spring of rib, excellent topline that he maintained at all times, strong body, moderate length of loin. Correct croup leading into well set tail with excellent feathering. Moderate rear angulation. Moved with accuracy fore, a touch close going away. Effortless in side profile with correct length of stride. Excellent coat of good length & thickness with correct texture. A well deserved Champion. 

2nd 5 year old male a different type to 1st, a little lower stationed in leg. Excellent skull to muzzle ratios, almond shaped eye of dark colour & eyerims. Small ears of good thickness that are wide set. Neck a touch short, decent shoulder, would like more length to upperarm, well developed forechest & ribbing. A little heavy. Good bone leading into well angled Pasterns & oval feet. Short strong loin. Excellent topline & croup leading into well set tail would like longer feathering. Well angulated rear with strong hocks. A little wide in front & close in rear. Excellent in side profile with correct strides. 

Open bitch 

1st 5 year old pretty girl with good skull to muzzle ratios, rounded skull, well defined stop. Good bite & underjaw. Oval shaped eye of dark colour & eyerims. Well set ears a little larger of good thickness. Enough neck, decent shoulder, very well developed forechest. Strong straight legs, a little heavy in body making her appear shorter in the leg. Short strong loin. Well angulated rear. Good tail set. In movement accurate fore a little close in rear. Excellent in side profile with moderate strides. Coat profuse of good texture.
