JUDGE – Michael Blay (Longbarrow)
It was an honour and a privilege to be asked to judge BIS at this prestigious show. My thanks to
the committee for the invite, and to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs under me.
BEST IN SHOW
1.Holman: Ch /SA Ch Trevena Masterchef At Namtresa SGWC (ImpZAF). D. Flatcoated Ret.
What a showman, stood out in a super BIS line up, came into the ring with an enthusiasm that
defied his 7 and half years. Loved his head shape, long and nicely moulded, with a slight stop,
nothing coarse about him, nice clean neck, moderate in length, well laid shoulders and good
forequarters with adequate brisket in front, good length to ribs and short, strong loin, muscular
behind showing well let down hocks and a moderate bend to his stifle, found him in super coat
of a good texture and well feathered throughout, power and graceful on the move holding a
good tailset all the way round. Delighted to award him BIS and BViS from a previous class.
2.Woodley: Alkhamhurst London Girl. B. Lab Ret. Black girl who came into her own on the day,
lovely shape when stood, clean lines and no excesses, good head and soft yet intelligent
expression, strong neck and good front assembly, well sprung barrelled rib and strong through
loin, good topline and tailset flowing nicely off her back, hammy rear quarters and stifles well
turned, she freely strode around the main ring with drive.
BEST PUPPY IN SHOW
1.Youngson: Linirgor Adeline At Treeveville. B. Golden Ret. What a sweetie, beautiful head and
kindest of eye, good length to neck, clean and flowing neatly into well laid shoulders, clean
front, straight front legs, good rib for age and lovely level topline, short coupled and totally
balanced throughout, in good coat, loved her movement, straight lines away and back and a
balanced gait in profile. Pleased to give her BPiS 2.Phipps-Baker & Baker: Maddouse Never To
Much. B. Flatcoated Ret. Another with sweetest of heads, showing no sign of coarseness, clean
neck and correct through shoulders and front, enough rib for her age, level topline and good
angles behind, lovely tailset and carried her tail well on the move, still a baby on the move, but
showed enough maturity to show me her drive and potential RBPiS

Plenty of potential to this young yellow male, clean head of a good size and shape for his age,
good body shape with well sprung barrel ribs and short loin, good tailset and held well on the

he just lost out on his movement today, beautiful head and expression, good neck and forehand
assembly, depth to his brisket and well sprung rib of good length and strength to his loin, in full
