Hampshire Gundog Society

Firstly, I’d like to thank the society for inviting me to judge and for the hospitality during the show. Thank you also to my steward who did a great job of handling the ring, and to everyone that entered their beautiful dogs under me, I was very grateful for such a wonderful entry!

Puppy (5,0)

1st Sonham Just A Pretty Belle (AI), 9 month old liver and white bitch. Such an appealing expression and attractive face. Over the last few months, I’ve watched her grow into a lovely show off who doesn’t want you to look at anyone else. She is moderate all over, nothing is over-done. She flows from head to toes. Movement was good, she drove out well on muscular hindquarters.

2nd, Droveborough Witchy Woman, 6 month old liver and white bitch. At her first show today. Loved her, she pushed hard for 1st but maturity just lost her on the win today. She is where she should be in development. On the move she was settled and covered plenty of ground smoothly.

Special Yearling (5,1)

1st Harvestlade Fire And Ice Through Merynjen JW, 18 month old orange and white dog. A dog I’ve placed well before and he’s maturing well. Pleasing head with a melting expression. He is curvy all over. He has a good deep chest. Good oval bone. He moved well, he did get excited at times but with swooping birds that’s understandable.

2nd Alozia Zephryne, 22 month old liver and white bitch. A workman like bitch with nothing to hide. Pleasing head and expression. Slightly shorter neck but opened up into well laid back shoulders. A positive mover, covered the ground with ease.

Post Graduate (9,2)

1st Freebreeze Pixar at Prosperity, 2 year old orange and white bitch. She is all female, so feminine and curvy. She doesn’t always stand out in the ring but today she was the best of movers in this class so I couldn’t deny her the win. Well defined head without being harsh. Well put together throughout, in great muscular condition. Won RBOB in stiff competition as preferred her overall shape.

2nd Nightgold Pipkin, 5 year old liver and white bitch. So symmetrical all over. Nicely in proportion head, well set leather ears. Long slightly arched neck into well set back shoulders. Would prefer slightly more muscular hindquarters, moved well but lacks a little animation.

Open (9/0)

I’m aware this sounds cheesy but, what a class! So many beautiful pointers in one class, I was spoilt for choice. Many of which I’ve loved ringside and was so happy to get my hands on them all. Thank you for bringing them under me today.

1st GER CH Lundgarth Wild Yarrow, 4 year old black and white dog. An unassuming dog that can sometimes melt into the background. Today he came into this class to win it and was not taking no for an answer. He won it on movement, he flowed around the ring soundly, not flashy but moved true and drove on strong hindquarters. He’s all male, masculine head but not harsh, melting expression. Strong neck going into well-laid back shoulders. Plenty of chest. Short coupled. Lovely bee-sting tail which he used well on the move. BOB

2nd Millpoint Golden Pippin JW, 2 year old orange and white female. A bitch who pushed 1st hard. Feminine head with kind eye. Long muscular neck, flowing into her well-set shoulders. She can sometimes appear long on the stack as her handler does sometimes overstretch her, however, hands on proves her to be well proportioned. She has well sprung ribs which fall away to muscular and slightly arched loins. Her movement is where she shines, she flies around the ring.
