Clyde Valley German Shepherd Dog Club

Thanks to Clyde Valley GSD Club commitee for my invitation to judge their Open Show on the 2nd August 2025. My first judging appointment. 

The high quality of the the dogs shown under me was evident throughout all classes, and I thank all who entered giving me a bumper entry.

Thanks also to my fantastic stewards, my daughter Alexxa Cowan and Paula Ingham who kept everything flowing like clockwork.

1ST (Rogersons) SISKIVA MR BRIGHTSIDE 

(Finleric Lugo at Siskiva x Barshar Ornah at Siskiva )

15 months old. Black and rich gold, upper medium size male, very well pigmented with a quality coat.

He has a masculine expression, where the head could be slightly stronger. Dark eyes, good length of neck, high wither, straight strong back. The croup is short and could be better angled. He has very good fore angulation, slightly stretched in proportions and has excellent hindquarters.

He is sound both coming and going , with very good reach and drive on the move. He gave a very good performance today holding his overline at all speeds

2ND (Lawrie's) GRAUERHUND ACE

(Hazroh Xaviar x Zandamor Gia)

14 months old, Sable topsize male. Substantial, very masculine head. The eyes could be darker. He is lacking in coat but a quality male. He has a good length of neck, normal wither, correct straight back into a croup that is of very good length and lay. Very good angulation in the front, slightly stretched in proportions , he has excellent hindquarters. Sound away and coming. Held his overline on the move with very good reach and hind drive. Not his best performance today but with more training hopefully this can be improved upon

1st (MacKenzies) MAZAROKO ICE

( Ch Reno de la Petite Laeticia x Rafaye Snowqueen) 18 months old back and gold male. He has good pigmentation with a quality coat. He is medium size and strength, where id prefer his head a little stronger. He has high withers into a straight firm back , the croup is short and steep. He has correct proportions and is sound coming and going. 

Lovely short rear pasterns.

He has powerful drive from the hindquarters but has a tendency to high step on the walk which settles more on the move. A very convincing performance today from this lovely boy

2nd (Hallidays) ABORIENTELUX RAUL (Wacron del Rione Antico x Diva vom Team Panoniansee) 23 months back and gold male of upper medium size. He is well pigmented with a quality coat. His head is strong and masculine with dark eyes. His ears are correct, good length of neck , high wither, excellent front assembly with good lay of shoulder and a correct length and angle of upper arm, although he is deep in chest. He has a straight back into a croup that is of good angle but could be longer. His proportions are correct and he has excellent hindquarters.

He is close behind and correct coming. His movement was restricted due to pulling on the lead. A very nice male who would benefit from more training

1ST (Turners) RAFAYE RIKKOR AT TASELLA

(Vesco vom Radhaus x Sadira Remi)

26 months black and red male. Upper medium size. He is masculine with a good strong head and is substantial. He could carry a better coat. Ears are slightly wide set and his eyes could be darker. He has a normal wither, into a correct straight back. The croup could be longer and is steep. He has a good front assembly , slightly stretched in proportions, with very good hind angulation, although he is slightly long in second thigh.

He is correct coming towards with firm elbows and is close behind.

He has a far reaching flowing gait with good hind drive, keeping his overline throughout. 

He gave a excellent performance on the day and pushed the second male hard throughout the class gaining him the first place.

2ND (McGoughs) RAFAYE KANTO

2 years old

( Reno von Angelius Team x Rafaye Angel) Upper medium size, impressive, and strong.

Very well pigmented male of excellent type. Very well coated and in super condition.

He has a masculine head, with a very good expression and dark eyes. Correct length of neck into a high wither. The back is straight and strong, the croup is correctly angled and of good length. 

He has very good front angulation with good length of upper arm. Proportions are correct and hind angles are excellent. Slightly weak in front pasterns. He is sound both ways with and holds a very clean overline on both the walk and the gait. He has far reaching movement with very good hind drive.

He was pulled out first and led the class, but his performance dropped today sadly and the winner pushed him hard from start to finish.

2.5 years, black and gold, topsize Male. Substantial and very impressive, with excellent overall strength and bone. Well pigmented and shown in fantastic condition. He has a strong very masculine head where the eyes could be slightly darker. He has good ear carriage, good length of neck, normal wither, straight back, clean topline into a well moulded croup of correct length and lay. Very good front assembly, with correct shoulder placement and good length and angle of the upper arm, he is slightly stretched in proportions. 

Excellent hindquarters with good breadth of thigh. He is absolutely sound away and coming. Displayed a very good free flowing gait with excellent reach and drive. Congratulations an excellent male

2nd (Johnson & McAteers) XANO VOM KLOSTERGARTEN (Conbhairean Vincenzo x Una vom Klostergarten) 3.5 years old 

Large, medium strong, impressive male with a lovely dark mask , strong head with dark eyes. Very well pigmented, richly coloured. Good ear carriage, good length of neck, high wither, firm straight back, croup of correct angle but slightly short. He has a slight turn in his tail.

He has a very good front assembly, upper arm amd shoulder are of good length and correctly angled and excellent hindquarters. 

Perfect height to length proportions, with good length of foreleg. His performance was faultless, a lovely moving dog with excellent forward reach and hind drive .

He is sound away and correct coming 

Today sadly he was out of coat, but another excellent male

1ST (Grays) KAIZUKA BOMBER (Jack von Fenrir x Kaizuka Ausha)

3 year old , big , very impressive eye catching male. Shown in super coat and condition. 

Medium strong, black and red gold.

Very good head and expression with dark eyes and dark mask. Good ear carriage, correct length of neck, high wither, firm back, which peaks slightly on the move.

He has very good front angulation, good height to length proportions although short in underchest and a little too tucked. The croup is long and correctly angled.

He has excellent hindquarters. He is sound away and towards. His forward reach could be a little freer, but hind drive is powerful. 

His ring performance was perfect. A true showman and a beautiful male.

2ND (Mitchells) BOBBY DAZZLA

3.5 years old. He is large, has excellent pigmentation with rich colour. Medium strength, with masculine head and expression, dark eyes, with a dark mask.

He has high withers, a strong firm back into a croup that is of good length but slightly steep.

His upperarm although it's of good length could be better angled. His shoulder placement is correct and well laid back.

He has very good proportions and excellent hind angulation. 

He is sound both coming and going. He has a free flowing gait with good reach and drive

Today his performance could have been better. He was highly excitable and a very vocal boy! Another lovely male

8 Months old, Red Sable, longcoat. Very impressive, Medium size, medium strong. She has a beautiful head, very feminine, ears are a little wide set, good reach of neck. Normal wither, correct straight back , croup is correct length and angle. She is very well angulated in both front and hindquarters. 

Slightly stretched in proportions and is narrow in front and close behind. She elbows out a little coming , She could also be longer in the foreleg. 

She impresses with her lovely topline from ears to tail, on the gait and when walking. She has excellent forward reach and powerful hind drive and such a lovely attitude. A beautiful promising puppy. 

2ND (Boyd & McGrath) HOWLINWOLF WHOLE OF THE MOON (Antilli Odin x Mascani Shandor at Howlinwolf) 8 months old, black and gold. Medium size, medium strong puppy with a lovely feminine head, good ear carriage and dark eye. She has a normal wither, a straight back, Into a croup that is short and flat.

The front assembly is very good with an upper arm of good length and angle , her proportions are correct and she has very good hindquarters. 

She is sound both coming and going with lovely straight hocks. She holds her topline on the move and has very good movement good reach and drive.

A very well schooled puppy for one so young giving a great performance. 

PUPPY BITCH (2 entered, 2 present)

1ST (Armstrong and Mcfarlane) SADIRA AZZI (Tornado Du Val D'anzin x Ch Sadira Rwonda) 9 months old Black and gold, she is topsize with a strong but feminine head. In stance she presents a lovely high wither, a firm back into a croup which is of good length and lay. She has good chest development for her age and has correct proportions. Her upper arm is long and correctly angled and she has excellent hindangles. The front pasterns are very weak and she needs to firm behind.

Sadly on the walk and gait she lowers her head and raises in the back and loses her wither.

Her forward reach is good on the gait but she could drive more from the back. Hopefully with age and more training this will improve.

2ND (Peggs) ABORIENTELUX KALYIA (Mio Vom Team Huhnegrab x Diva vom Team Panoniansee) 10 Months old upper medium size Black and paling gold, strong but feminine head with good ear carriage. She has a normal wither a straight back into a croup that is short and could be better angled. Her proportions are correct.

She has good front with a good length and angle of upper arm and correct shoulder placement. Her rear angulation is good and she is straight coming and slightly close behind. On the move she didn't perform her best and didnt drive or extend to her potential. As with the first female with more training hopefully this will improve 

JUNIOR BITCH (3 Entered, 3 Present)

1ST (McAteers) ROSEBUD EDIE OF HUNDARK (Fairycross Alfie x Renata v Clarco) 15 months Sable female of upper medium size. Strong but feminine head, good reach of neck. High wither , firm straight back into a croup that is of good length but slightly steep. Excellent front assembly, proportions are good and she has excellent hindquarters. 

She is correct coming and sound away. On the move walking and gaiting she holds her topline at all times and has excellent reach and powerful hind drive. An excellent performance today from this very spirited female . A lot to like about her

2ND (Mcmanus) GRAUERHUND ADALINE (Hazroh Xavier x Zandamor Gia) 14 month Sable. Upper medium size, feminine head, good reach of neck, normal wither into a correct straight back. The croup is of good angle but slightly short.

The upper arm is correct as is the shoulder. She is slightly stretched in proportions and has excellent hindquarters. She is sound coming, slightly close coming and id prefer the hocks a little shorter. On the move she shows good fore reach and hind drive. 

Although in good condition she lacks in coat and needs to have more confidence in the ring. Hopefully this comes with more training. A nice female

21 months old black and rich gold female shown in excellent condition. She is medium size , medium strong with a beautiful head and expression. She has a lovely reach of neck into a normal wither, a correct straight back and a croup that is of good angle but should be slightly longer. 

Her front angulation is very good, the upper arm could be longer, perfect proportions and excellent hindquarters. 

She is absolute sound both ways. Excellent forward reach and powerful hind drive

Her performance was faultless as is typical from this kennel. 

Holding her clean lines in all aspects of movement from the tip of her ears to tail. 

Such a shame she stood alone 

LONGCOAT YEARLING BITCH

1ST & BEST LONGCOAT BITCH (Mitchell's) AAREET BONNY LASS (Paluka Valco x Evissa Love)

14 Months Black and Red gold female of absolute medium size and strength with such a pretty expression. Presented out of coat today. Immediately catches your eye.

She has a good reach of neck , has high withers, a straight back into a croup that is of good length but is steep. She has good forehand assembly, excellent proportions and excellent hindquarters. 

She stands narrow in front but is sound going away. She presents a very pleasing picture on the walk and gait, holding her topline at all speeds. She has very good reach and hind drive and gave a fantastic look at me performance! 

A beautiful young female 

2ND (Towning and Landgren's) YAKASIMBA BIANCA ( Unique Star Ducati x Que Sara Sara X Men Storm) 14 months, feminine female upper medium size, medium strength. Shown in full bloom.

High wither, correct straight back into to a croup that is of good angle but slightly short. She appeared deep but with hands on she is not. She has a good forehand , her proportions are correct and she has excellent hind angles.

She is narrow in front and elbows out slightly coming, she is sound behind.

On the move she has good forward reach and good hind drive.

She holds her lines at all speeds.

1ST (Mcgouch) XIBOR COCO (Vesco vom Radhaus x Xibor Emma) 2 year old, impressive female in super condition. medium size and strength. She is a very firm and dry female. She has a lovely feminine head, dark eye but id prefer more stop. Good reach of neck , high wither, correct straight back into the croup that is of very good length and lay.

The shoulder is correct but she is slightly steep in upper arm. She has correct proportions and excellent hindquarters. She is correct viewed from the front but the front pasterns could be firmer. 

Coming and going she is sound. She displays a free flowing gait with excellent reach and hind drive. Another show off in the ring with a perfect performance, an absolute beautiful female 

2ND (Rogersons) HUNDARK HAVOK AT SISKIVA (Ch Reno de la Petite Laeticia x Hundark Alona) 2.5 Years old Black and paling gold top size female, she could have more black pigmention .

Show in excellent coat condition. She is strong and substantial has a feminine head with dark eyes. Good reach of neck, high wither, with a correct straight back into croup that is slightly short but is correctly angled. She has excellent forhand angulation, perfect preportions and excellent hindquarters. 

She is sound both coming and going and shows excellent forward reach and strong hind drive. A very well constructed female.

3RD (Halls) ZASKIA VOM GAYVILLE

1ST & BEST BITCH (De Zutter) LANGFAULDS CHIC (Gayville Picasso x Laugfaulds Xcandel) 4.5 years old Black and gold female. Top size and substantial. She is strong but feminine with dark eyes and correct ears.

She has good length of neck, high wither and a strong correct straight back. The front assembly is correct with a well laid back shoulder and good length of upper arm that is well angulated. Her proportions are spot on, the croup is correctly angled but should be longer. Her pasterns are slighly weak. She is well developed in the chest, is totally sound towards and going away. Her performance was super from start to finish where she displayed an excellent free flowing gait with excellent forward reach and powerful hind drive. She presented an excellent outline from ears to tail in every aspect of movement. An excellent female.

2ND (Brownlees) NEERLAWS VESPA (Hazroh Xavier x Neerlaws Phoxx) 2 Years old Black and gold female of upper medium size and strength. Id prefer the gold to be richer. She has a beautiful feminine head with dark mask and dark eyes. Good reach of neck, high wither, a firm topline and a correct straight back into a croup that is slightly short and steep. The upper arm is of good length but could be better angled. She has very good proportions and excellent hindquarters. 

She is absolutly sound both ways and shows excellent movement with super forward reach and strong hind drive. She flattened on the wither slightly when gaiting but nevertheless which lost her first place Another excellent female.

3RD ( Mcgraths) MASCANI DENVA

1ST ( Turners) IMPRANAH KYOGO (Jack von Fenrir x Modena von Arlett) 3.5 years old, black and rich red upper medium size female of good strength and substance. She has a strong but feminine head with correct ear placement and lovely dark eyes. Good reach of neck, normal wither, the back is strong and straight , the croup is correctly angled but should be a little longer. She has excellent front assembly, correct proportions and excellent hindquarters. She is narrow in front and toes out on the left and elbows out coming towards. She is sound behind with lovely short straight rear pasterns. On the move she is very expressive and holds her lines in all stages. She has excellent reach and drive and gave a fantastic performance today.

A beautiful female.

2ND (Miller's) HAUSMULLER DIXIE (Jack von Fenrir Hausmuller Caterino) 3 years old, black and rich gold. She is topsize , medium strong, with a feminine head and dark eye. Good reach of neck, high wither, correct straight back into an excellent croup that is of correct length and angle. Her upper arm and shoulder are correct , she has excellent proportions. She appears deep but with hands on she is not, and she has good length of foreleg. She is long in second thigh that makes her close behind. She is narrow in the front and stands east to west, and should be firmer in the elbows.

She has excellent forward reach and powerful hind drive and holds her lovely clean topline from ear to tail on the walk, and in movement. Another beautiful female.

1ST (Turners) CH IMPRANAH FLAVIA (Conbhairean Waro x Impranah Razzmatazz) 11.5 years old, black and rich gold longcoat female in super condition for her age. She is upper medium size, medium strength with a very feminine head and kind expression. She has a high wither, firm straight back into the croup which is short and steep. The front angulation is very good, proportions are correct and excellent hindquarters.

She elbows out slightly coming towards, and is totally sound going away. She has good length of foreleg. On the walk and the gait she holds her topline at all speeds and has excellent forward reach and still powerful hind drive for 11 years old.

It was lovely to judge this beautiful champion old lady.
