Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge your show and for your hospitality on the day. There were a few absentees but overall a nice entry. Being indoors meant that there was not really room for the dogs to move to their best advantage and some exhibits were not very happy with the floor which affected their performance.
Minor Puppy Dog (1,0)
1st Congdon’s Aaronwell Asks The Question. RBD
7.5 month g/s/w youngster, very raw at the moment but he has all the essentials. He is nicely balanced in length to height and presents a pleasing outline. His white collar enhances a nicely arched neck of good length and he has a level topline with a gentle rise over the loin and slope over the croup to a low set very long tail. He has a very good layback of shoulder and return of upper arm, straight front with good bone, enough depth of chest for his age, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. His head handles well with parallel planes, slight stop, nicely rounded muzzle, enough underjaw, dark obliquely set eyes and neatly tipped ears giving a sweet expression. He showed attentively and moved soundly and confidently.
Junior Dog (3,2)
1st Vogans’ Lenosann The Prophecy
Just 12 months g/s/w who was very unsettled and did not really do himself justice. He has a good reach of neck, balanced angulation at both ends, straight front, level topline and slope over croup to a long low set tail. He still has some developing to do in head properties, his skull and muzzle are of equal length and he has a dark almond shaped eye and well set nicely tipped ears, but I would prefer more stop and a little more underjaw. He was one of those unhappy with the floor covering and somewhat tentative on the move.

1st Aaronwell Asks The Question
Graduate Dog (2,0)
1st Collino’s Imaginist A Griffin’s Mark
2 year old tricolour, lacking furnishings on his hindquarters which slightly detracted from the overall picture. He is nicely balanced with good substance for his size, his neck is well arched and he has a good layback of shoulder, straight front, good depth of chest, level topline, sweep over the croup to a low set tail, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Masculine head of correct proportions with a flat skull, slight stop, nicely rounded muzzle, good underjaw, dark obliquely set eyes and nicely tipped ears carried alertly. Moved well from all angles.
2nd Penachio’s Malouines Never Ending Story
Profusely coated s/w who tended to tuck himself up and gaze up at his handler which spoilt his outline. I would prefer a touch more neck but his shoulder is well laid back and he has a straight front though pasterns could be stronger, good depth of chest, level topline, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. He is stronger in head with a deeper stop, smooth cheeks and well filled foreface, his eyes are dark and well placed and he has nicely tipped ears giving a gentle expression. On the move he lacked the reach and drive of 1st and was rather proud of his tail.
Limit Dog (1,0)
1st Vogans’ Luminous Moon Over Lenosann
4 year old b/m whose coat is of good colour, nicely marbled and of correct texture. Another whose white collar shows off his good reach of neck, level topline, gentle rise over loin and sweep over croup to a long low set tail. His angulation at both ends is balanced and he has a straight front with flexible pasterns, strong hindquarters with a good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. I liked his head with its blunt wedge, flat skull and parallel planes, slight stop, clean cheeks, nicely rounded muzzle with enough underjaw, dark almond shaped eye and neatly tipped ears, all combining to give him a gentle expression. He moved soundly. A little more coat on his hindquarters would complete the picture.
Open Dog (3,0)
1st Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Daggers At Dawn. BD
Shaded s/w boy who I judged as a puppy, and pleased to see he is fulfilling his early promise. Not in his best jacket but he has nothing to hide. Nice for size with enough substance and pleasing overall balance. He is well constructed and stands foursquare naturally, showing off his lovely outline with a well arched neck of good length, level topline, slight rise over loin and graceful sweep over croup to a low set tail which was carried well on the move. Masculine head with skull and muzzle of equal length, enough stop, smooth cheeks, well filled foreface, good underjaw, dark obliquely set eye and well placed ears used attentively, giving a pleasing expression. One of the few that had the confidence to move with good reach and drive on the tricky floor.
2nd Hawkins’ Brilyn Worth The Wait
Quality g/s/w, with an immaculately groomed harsh coat. Pleasing for balance and outline with a muscular well arched neck, good layback of shoulder, straight front, flexible pasterns, good depth of chest, level topline and slope over croup to a low set tail. He has an attractive wedge head of correct proportions with a well placed slight stop, dark almond shaped obliquely set eye, and perfect ear set and carriage giving him a very sweet expression. Close decision but I just preferred the stance and more positive movement of 1st on the day.
3rd Leese’s Essanjay Fields Of Gold for Firesaga
Veteran Dog (2,0)
1st Jones’ Brooklynson Black Diamond with Dancol. BV
Handsome tricolour with rich tan markings, shown in super coat and condition. He has a good reach of neck and layback of shoulder, straight front with good bone, good depth of chest and spring of rib, rise over loin and graceful sweep over croup to a low set tail. His hindquarters are well angulated and muscular. His head handles well with parallel planes of skull to muzzle, well filled foreface, dark obliquely set almond shaped eye, and well placed nicely tipped ears giving him such a kind expression. He moved true with drive from the rear and good reach in profile.
2nd Boyle’s Barrenclough Heart Of Gold JW ShCEx OSW VW
Abundantly coated shaded s/w, who is well enough made but spoilt his outline when standing by tucking his hindquarters underneath him. On examination he has a muscular neck of good length and well laid shoulders, level topline and low set tail, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. His head is well balanced with a flat skull, well placed slight stop, dark almond shaped eyes and correct ear set and carriage giving a typical sweet expression. Moved OK but preferred the side gait of 1st.
Minor Puppy Bitch (2,0)
1st Congdon’s Aaronwell All About Elsa. BP
Pretty g/s/w of 7 months who appealed for her charming expression and lovely outline. She has a muscular well arched neck of good length leading into well angulated forequarters with her elbows under the withers. She has a straight front with flexible pasterns and enough bone for her size, a level topline, graceful sweep over the croup to a very long low set tail, neat feet, a very good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. At this age her head still needs to fill out, but she has parallel planes of skull to muzzle, a dark almond shaped eye, and nicely tipped ears used alertly. She moved very well from all angles and showed her heart out.
2nd Dix’s Gataj First Crush at Treweek
Another attractive puppy, but slightly “bum high” at the moment which made her angulation at both ends appear steep until the front catches up with the rear. She is nice for size with good bone, enough neck, well laid shoulders and straight front with flexible pasterns and correct oval feet. Her head is well balanced with skull and muzzle of equal length, dark obliquely set almond shaped eyes, and well placed and used ears, like 1st just needs to fill a little under the eyes and in foreface. Her profuse coat was groomed to perfection and she moved soundly.
Puppy Bitch (1,0)
1st Collino’s Imaginist Frozen In Time
Promising 11 month b/m with a harsh coat of good colour, well broken. I liked her overall balance with a nicely arched neck, well laid shoulders and return of upper arm, straight front with good bone, level topline and slope over croup to a long enough tail, and well angulated hindquarters. She has a very pretty head with neatly tipped ears used attentively, a flat skull, slight stop, nicely rounded muzzle with good underjaw, and obliquely set almond shaped eyes. Moved well.
Maiden Bitch (2,1)
1st Aaronwell All About Elsa
Novice Bitch (2,1)
1st Vogans’ Lenosann Wildest Dreams
G/s/w who had left her coat at home. She is the litter sister of 1st in Junior Dog and very similar in make and shape. Her length to height ratio is about right and she has a good reach of neck, balanced angulation at both ends, level topline and sweep over croup to a low set tail. Like her brother I would prefer a better defined stop and she needs to fill in foreface, but her skull and muzzle are of equal length and she has a dark almond shaped eye and nicely tipped ears when she chooses to use them, giving a sweet expression. Unfortunately she hated the floor and was therefore rather uncooperative with her handler and extremely reluctant to move.
Graduate Bitch (3,2)
1st Williams’ Essanjay Heartbreaker
Shapely b/m, quite heavily marked, but the blue that she has is of good colour and her coat is of correct texture. She is soundly constructed with a nicely arched neck of good length, well laid shoulders and return of upper arm with elbows under the withers, level topline, good depth of chest and spring of rib, well angulated hindquarters and slope over croup to a low set tail. Her head is balanced with smooth cheeks, nicely rounded foreface, a dark almond shaped eye and well carried neatly tipped ears, giving a sweet feminine expression. Moved well with good reach in profile.
Post Graduate Bitch (3,2)
1st Timeless Destiny Star Actis over Barrenclough JW (Imp Pol)
Shaded s/w of good breed type, nice for size and substance, and good body proportions. She is well angulated at both ends with a straight front with flexible pasterns, neat feet, good depth of chest and spring of rib, level topline, correct tail set and strong hindquarters. Good wedge head with parallel planes of skull to muzzle, dark almond shaped eyes, ears well set though she was reluctant to use them, smooth cheeks, slight stop, nicely rounded muzzle and good underjaw. Moved well.
Open Bitch (3,1)
1st Congdon’s Aaronwell Able Mabel JW. BOB
I was not surprised to find she is the dam of the two minor puppy class winners as they have inherited many of her attributes. Scored for her shape with a muscular well arched neck, shoulders sloping and well laid back with equal length of upper arm, level back with rise over loin and graceful sweep over croup to a low set long enough tail. She has a straight front with enough bone, neat oval feet, well angulated hindquarters with a good bend of stifle and well let down hocks enabling her to move with drive. Her head is balanced with parallel planes, flat skull, a nicely rounded muzzle, dark obliquely set almond shaped eyes and correct ear set and carriage giving a charming expression. A natural showgirl, she was in lovely coat and condition.
2nd Bel Ch Takhisis Lady Of Mystery BW24. RBB
Feminine shaded s/w girl who was quite out of coat but it served to show off her attractive outline and sound construction. She is nicely balanced with correct angulation at both ends and stood naturally foursquare. She has a good wedge head with a flat skull, well placed stop, nicely rounded muzzle, dark obliquely set eyes and nicely tipped ears used to advantage. She moved soundly from well muscled hindquarters covering the ground with ease.
Veteran Bitch (1,0)
1st Collino’s Imaginist Willow Wren
Quality tricolour girl with a well groomed profuse coat. Nice for size and substance with a pleasing outline from a well arched neck, level back with rise over the loin and sloping croup to a low set tail. She has a good layback of shoulder and length of upper arm, straight front with flexible pasterns, good depth of chest and spring of rib, well bent stifles, short hocks and neat feet. She has a delightful head and expression with neat ears carried alertly, very dark almond shaped eyes, skull and muzzle of equal length with just the right amount of stop, and a well filled foreface. Moved very well.
