South Yorkshire Whippet Club

Thank you to South Yorkshire Whippet Club for inviting me to judge the breed at the Open Show in February, I really appreciated the opportunity. To the exhibitors, thank you for entering, allowing me to go over your dogs and accepting my decisions with good grace. Class: 1 Baby Puppy Dog 1st: Smith, Mrs. L. Collooney Jim Bean: 4,5 month red brindle, strong puppy of good type, with an attractive head and expression. Very much a baby who needs time to develop and settle in movement. Class: 2 Minor Puppy Dog (8,2) 1st: Luther & Buckland, Miss C & Mr. N, Tervanty Dragon Master 8 month bleu brindle, strong but of lovely type, correct size, good head and expression, long neck, well angulated in front and rear, correct top and underline, long tail, moves very balanced for his age. BPD & RBPIS 2nd : Mallinson, Mrs. E K & Miss L, Edenwhip Oregano: 6 month elegant red brindle, attractive outline although slightly less angulated in the front, still learning to settle on the move Class: 3 Puppy Dog (4,1) 1st: Fort, Miss J.M, Shulune’s Chasing Thrills: 10 month fawn with white trim, strong balanced attractive puppy with a beautiful flowing outline, lovely head and expression, correct ears, neck set, top and underline. Would prefer the sternum a little less pronounced. Moves with a lot of drive but still loose in front 2nd : Morris, Waddell & Spademan, Mrs. L.D., Mr G M. & Mrs. F, Southpoint Who Whom Whose From Crosscop: 9 month fawn with white trim, very pleasing male, a bit longer than 1st. I would prefer more angulation in the front. Needs more time to develop especially on the move. Class: 4 Junior Dog (6,2) 1st: Powell, Mycroft & Mycroft, Mrs K M, Miss F S & Mrs S M, Supeta’s Jamie Dodger For Almakaeala Beautiful fawn with white trim dog, excellent head and expression, long neck, correct top and underline, well developed forechest, true coming and going, in profile has enough reach and drive although you can see it is still a young dog. BD, BOS and RBIS 2nd : Wheeler, Mr R, First Class Soulad By Ranveli: Another beautiful young male, Red Brindle, good head and expression, flowing outlines, correct top and underline, liked him a lot too but unfortunately he did not settle on the move. Class: 5 Yearling Dog ((5,2) 1st:Winkley-Balmer & Winkley, Mr J & Ms R, Edenwhip Call Me At Night: Fawn dog of good size with a good front. I would prefer the topline to be more more flowing, curvy underline, well angulated in the rear, well balanced movement. 2nd : Spicer, Mrs D & Mr A J, Johtryn Muchacho: Brindle boy, very dark eyes, rose ears and correct earset, long neck and curvy outlines, still needs to settle on the move Class: 6 Novice Dog (7,3) 1st:Howgate & Hull, Mr M & MS Y, Palmik Never Too Late: 9 month old puppy, who is in the in between growing stage, loads of attractive features but not really balanced at the moment. 2nd : Luther & Buckland, Miss C & Mr N, Bohosoul The Crow: A taller stronger fawn dog who I would prefer with more balance in angulation which also shows in his movement. . Class: 7 Graduate Dog (3,0) 1st: Powell, Mycroft & Mycroft, Mrs K M, Miss F S & Mrs S M, Supeta’s Jamie Dodger For Almakaeala 2nd : Luther & Buckland, Miss C & Mr N, Bohosoul The Crow Class: 8 Post Graduate Dog (5,0) 1st: Searle & Rawlinson, Miss N 7 Ms M, Reffton Tibalt At Whipsearle Fawn dog, I would prefer a little more substance, flowing outlines but would like more balance in front and rear angulation. Front feet could be better arched, movement acceptable, 2nd : Smith & Goddard-Smith, Miss F & Miss C, Edenwhip Love at First Sight For Neviwesh: Stronger, heavier dog, quite solid and wide in front, topline could be curvier and I’d prefer a gentler fallaway to the croup, movement not quite as balanced as 1st. Class: 9 Limit Dog (5,0) 1st: Poole, Morris & Waddel, Mr G, Mrs L & Mr G, Falcongrag Match Maker At Crosscop: Fawn, beautiful longer dog, Nice head and expression, good well set ears, well filled in front, flowing outline with excellent angulations in front and rear, long tail, pleasing movement. 2nd : Robinson, Mrs J, Indian Chief At Tarward: Fawn dog, pleasing head and expression, well angulated in rear, good tailset with a long tapering tail, I would prefer more balanced angulation and a better fill and depth in front. Class: 10 Open Dog (5,1) 1st: Bridgman-Lewis & Wilton-Clark, Mr K & Miss J, Shalfleet Making Waves: Blue Brindle with white trim, pleasing head with a good expression, excellent forechest with good fill and depth, flowing outlines but slightly sloping in topline, well angulated rear .Movement parallel coming and going. 2nd : Holland, Mr & Mrs F J, Elmanash Glenfiddich: Seven year old red fawn with white trim, excellent condition for his age, good head and expression, would like a more curvaceous body, preferred movement of 1st. Class: 11 Special Racing/Lure Coursing Dog (3,2) 1st: Yeates, Winter & Morland, Miss D, Mr L R & Miss A, Zoraden Maserati Two year old fawn with black pigment. Pleasing head, flowing correct top and underline, good shoulder placement but would like a better fill in front. Well angulated rear and a good tail set with long tapering tail, moves with ease. Best Racing/Lure Coursing In Show. Class: 12 Veteran Dog (4,0) 1st: Price, Ms C, CH Wheelspin Silver Shadow Among Silkdance: Seven year old fawn good head and expression, I would like him to be a bit more balanced in angulation and more curvy in top and underline. Moves well. 2nd : Bingham, Mrs D, Lolani Gentleman Jack:Seven year old fawn, attractive head and expression, good fill in front, pleasing angulations and topline but preferred movement of 1st . Class: 13 Baby Puppy Bitch (5,0) 1st: Thomas, Ms M, Bowdonia Alphaba Brindle with white trim, very nice balanced puppy, beautiful head, good neck and front, still a bit soft in pasterns. Excellent top- and underline, at the moment a bit overangulated in the rear, long tail, moves really well for her age. 2th: Reece, Mrs S M, Crosscop Girl From Mars Over Saleehah Fawn girl, another balance puppy, beautiful head and expression, a bit longer in body than first, preferred movement on the first Class: 14 Minor Puppy Bitch (8,0) 1st: Howgate & Hull, Mr M & Ms Y, Tervanty Dragon Song At Palmik: Light fawn, well angulated puppy, at the moment a bit longer body than I prefer, although with correct top and underline. Moves really well for her age. BPB & BPIS 2nd: Morris Waddell, Spademan & Mycroft, Mrs L, Mr G Mrs F & Mrs S, Crosscop Temptation To Supeta: Very attractive brindle bitch, excellent head, neck, top and underline. Good mover for her age, hard desision but prefered the front construction on 1st. Class: 15 Puppy Bitch (3,1) 1st: Hines, Mrs J & Mr G, Moonstone Moment Fawn, well angulated, good body type with a pleasing head, good bone, pasterns and feet, would like a more flowing outline and of neck into shoulder. 2nd : Handley, Ms A H, Alysando’s Bleu Pearl Brindle, very refined girl, would prefer more balance in body and angulations Class: 16 Junior Bitch (8,0) 1st. Morris, Waddell & Spademan, Mrs. L.D., Mr G M. & Mrs. F, Crosscop Tiny Dancer Balanced, well built girl, good bone with correct pasterns and feet. Moves well for her age. 2nd : Ugerri, Miss L, Bohosoul Bewitched Red Fawn, pleasing and balanced bitch, good front, bone, pasterns, top and underline. Well muscled. Preferred movement of the first Class: 17 Yearling Bitch (5,0) 1st: Lister & Swarbrick, Ms M J, Miss E & Mr T C, Edenwhip Ima Bright Star: Attractive fawn bitch, longer in body, good front fill, well angulated front and rear, would like a more curvaceous topline, moved well with reach and drive. 2nd : Thomas, Ms M, Bowdonia Sky Full Of Stars Red fawn, shorter girl, well balanced very well-muscled. Class: 18 Novice Bitch (10,2) 1st: Uggeri, Miss L, Five Star Ladies Soulad by Bohosoul: Red brindle bitch, beautiful head and expression , lovely type with flowing correct top and underline. Well constructed front angulation with excellent fill and depth. Would prefer a little less angulation in the rear, moved well from all sides. 2nd : Howgate & Hull, Mr M & Ms Y, Tervanty Dragon Song At Palmik Class: 19 Graduate Bitch (4,1) 1st: Mallinson, Mrs. E K & Miss L, Edenwhip Vera: Brindle with white trim, pleasing head, correct top- and underline, would like a bit more balance in angulation. Prefered her movement to 2nd. 2nd : Edwards Mrs C, Landsbirch Isadora: Fawn bitch with an attractive outline. Well angulated in front and rear, elegant tapering long tail. Class: 20 Post Graduate Bitch (8,2) 1st: Lowe & Wilcox, Mr J & Ms B, Nevedith Gold Peach Of Jevobhn Fawn feminine bitch, attractive head and expression, well angulated in front and rear, good underline but would like her topline a bit more curvy, easy mover with reach and drive. 2nd : Reece, Mrs S M, Saleehah Stardancer Nice brindle with white trim, attractive expression, would like her to be a bit stronger in pasterns, prefered 1st on the move. Class: 21 Limit Bitch (6,3) 1st: Uggeri, Miss L, Bohosoul Storming Thru: Fawn with white trim, really balanced girl with excellent under line and well angulated front and rear. Would like her to be a bit more curvaceous in topline. Best mover in this class 2nd : Thomas & Halliday, Ms M & Mrs A, Bronchibelle Ooh La La At Bowdonia Fawn brindle that gives the impresion to be slightly high on legs, attractive head and expression but would like her to be a bit more balanced overall in angulation. Class: 22 Open Bitch (5,2) 1st Spademan, Mycroft, Morris & Warrel, Miss F, Mrs S, Mrs L & Mr G, Crosscop California Barbie From Supeta Beautiful balanced, elegant, young fawn bitch, excellent size with a pleasing head, correct neck and neckset, flowing correct outlines, excellent angulations in front and rear, good tailset with long tail. Easy correct mover from all sides. BB & BIS 2nd : Howgate & Hull, Mr M & Ms Y, Palmik Truth About Love Fawn, a well angulated bitch, a bit stronger than first and not quite as elegant, lovely daisy cutting movement with reach and drive Class: 24 Veteran Bitch (8,2) 1st: Spademan, Morris & Waddel, Miss F, Mrs L & Mr G, Ch Let is Shine For Supeta Well balanced fawn bitch in excellent condition for her age, beautiful, but preferred her daughter today. BVIS 2nd : Wilkinson J, Citycroft Starfall Another veteran in great condition, a bit stronger than first but very pleasing and a correct mover, daisy cutting with reach and drive.
