I would like to thank Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Canine Society for inviting me to judge the Hound Group and Best in Show at their Open Show on the 2nd March 2025.

1st Goldbergs’ Molesend Impish, lovely feminine bitch who had great ring presence, a lovely head with a nice soft expression. Super bone, good strong quarters, excellent topline with good tailset. Balanced and moved soundly. BOB & BPIB
2nd MacDougall’s Mockhovie Elladoan Soft head and expression, moved soundly both ways, put down in good condition, firm top line, good bone.
3rd Pocklington-Hall’s Bayard Bee Good

1st Pocklingon-Hall’s Merlin Do Casal Dos Choupos Shcex (Imp) Vw Masculine dog with well balanced head and nice dark eye. Good front with correct shoulder placement. Nice deep chest and well ribbed back and strength to loin. Presented as a well balanced dog, moved well both ways. BOB

1st Dover’s Palamedees Arian Khrysos at Keanver Jw A picture of elegance, presented beautifully and in good coat. Well balanced head with a gently curving dome of skull. Nice shoulder placement and an arched topline. Good bend of stifle. Moved well both ways. BOB

1st Mills Nisyros Florella at Greyvista Such a baby but with loads of attitude and totally unfazed by her surroundings. Has a pleasing outline on the table, lovely coat and handled with so much care. I will follow this puppy with interest. BOB BPIB

1st Parkes Cloudside Warren with Jubrancy, Feminine bitch, Harsh jacket, good muscle tone, well ribbed with a muscular topline. Nicely angulated and well muscled hindquarters. Moved well. BOB
2nd Dickinson Dakotadax Legend of Zelda Lovely puppy, very feminine, harsh jacket, well ribbed, muscular topline nicely angulated, moved well both ways. BPIB

1st Nicholls Chuilinn Enigma at Albaeirn Masculine dog, lovely dark coat, good bone and stood on good strong feet. Balanced on the move and handled very well. BOB

1st Ross’s Penholda I Want it All. Quite a rangy dog but so very well balanced, good masculine head and good dark eye. Very well handled.
2nd Keyhole’s Redcrown Celtic Queen. Very feminine bitch, nice dark eye, carried herself well around the ring maintaining a level top line.
3rd Hall’s Msingi Fancy That at Cynam BPIB

1st Mackfall’s Benicloujam Aumba Breeze of Afrikaner Very impressed by her overall balance, lovely head and eye, clean neck with well laid shoulder. good forechest and strong over the loin with slight arch. Strong quarters. Moved well both ways. BOB
2nd Greeves’ Penholda Sweet Lady JW Lovely head and good reach of neck and lay of shoulder. Well muscled and good length of ribbing. Well angulated rear, balanced on the move both ways.
3rd Keyhoe’s Redcrown Celtic Queen

1st Dugdale’s Typhoon of Artemis Presented well, with plenty of promise, was very much distracted by her litter sister which made it difficult to assess movement, in the challenge for the Group she performed much better and moved well. BOB
2nd Dugdale’s Hurricane of Hero, another lovely Saluki presented well but difficult to assess movement due to distraction of litter sister.

1st McCauley’s Sambeclo New Beginning Lovely feminine bitch with beautiful head and expression with neat ears. Good head, front and shoulders. Slight rise over the loin and a good tuck up. Very well balanced and moved well both ways.
2nd Dickinson’s Collooney Queen Asloug Another lovely feminine bitch, beautiful head and expression, with neat ears. Nice outline with a slight rise over the loin and a good tuck up. Moved well both ways.

1st Metcalfe’s Aarminias Dance Like a Dafty this dog took my eye as soon as he entered the ring. Masculine dog with a nice gentle and alert expression. Strong neck leading into well laid shoulders, correct bone, good feet. Nothing exaggerated about this dog, all in proportion, strong hind quarters which he put to good use on the move. BOB
2nd McKay’s Crosscop Born to Move for Jubrancy Another lovely dog with an alert expression, strong neck and well muscled firm back. Very balanced and covered the ground with ease with no exaggeration.

1st Lumley’s Swansford Diadora (Dachshund LH) presented in lovely condition, nice feminine bitch, with good eye colour and shape, well balanced and moved well both ways, handled so well by her young handler. BOB
2nd McNulty’s Wyldwensley Kes (Irish Wolfhound) A strong masculine dog of good size, kind expression, good lay of shoulder, good depth of chest, held a good topline on the move with a slight arch to the loin.

Walker’s Ch Fr Int Ch Lux Ch Swiss Tooralie’s Pie in the Sky (Shetland Sheepdog) - This sable and white dog was truly outstanding, literally owned the ring. Presented and handled to perfection. Super head of correct shape, well constructed and moved so very well and smoothly.

Scott’s Janmark Je Ne Sais Pas Avec Mickleview JW (Bedlington) An outstanding bitch presented in tip top condition, pleasing front, strong correct shoulders and neck. Correct topline with rise over the loin.

Foster’s Aursitela Ginger Rogers (Golden Retriever) At just 6 months this bitch couldn’t put a foot wrong, lovely to go over her, feminine head, lovely eye, coat in great condition, moved well, will follow this puppy with interest.
RESERVE BEST PUPPY IN SHOW
Hall’s Msingi Fancy That at Cynami (Rhodesian Ridgeback) This 6 month old bitch is truly outstanding, lovely head and dentition and beautiful expression. Well laid shoulders, good body proportions, balanced on the move. Another puppy I will follow with interest.
BEST VETERAN IN SHOW
Kent’s Lyfearon Blazing Heart JW (Siberian Husky) 8 years old, Good lay of shoulder and held a good topline on the move, so very well balanced with strong hindquarters providing him with free movement.
