Breed: Open Show

Thank you to the committee for the kind invitation to judge at this lovely show. Unfortunately there were some absentees which was totally understandable given the weather forecast for an outdoor show.

German Shorthaired Pointer
Puppy (1)
1st Beresford’s Tuptonsett True Spirit
At 8mths old this girl is very together. She has a clean head and soft expression. Moderate length of neck in to muscular shoulders. She has well sprung ribs and wide loin with well bent stifle. She was smooth and ground covering on the move. BOB & BP.

Junior (2) These two both had things to like about them but were giving their handlers a hard time.
1st White’s Buddon Bonnie at Tarsteveas
Scored over 2nd on head and movement. She has a balanced head with good ear placement. Her shoulders are well laid and she is deep enough in rib with time to develop. She was just more positive on the move. RBOB
2nd White’s Amidala Purplerain at Tarsteveas
I felt that this girl was not a balanced in head as the winner but she has good eye shape and colour. Strong in topline and has depth to her rib. She is well developed in first thigh. Movement was erratic and a little difficult to assess today.

Of a different type to 1 and I preferred the winners shoulders. Balanced head with clean neck. Deep enough in rib and well boned. Good length of loin and good tail set. Moved steadily with purpose.

Attractive head showing good balance. Muscular, arched neck with slightly slopping shoulders into a good topline and tail set. She shows good depth of rib and good loin. on the move she covered the ground well, showing good rear drive. BOB G4
2nd Bird’s Droveborough’s The Gambit at Vinepoint RBOB
Tough choice between these two. Nice head and eye. Nice shoulders with good upper arm. Good depth of rib and well placed elbows. I would like to see him opened up a bit more on the move which was the deciding factor. RBOB
3rd Ovel’s Jimaura I’m For Caroline

Golden Retriever Thank you for a lovely entry.
Puppy (7,3abs) This was a tough class with lots to like about these babies.
1st Taylor & Tenn’s Strettonhills Hoity Toity
Sweet baby of almost 10mths. Feminine head with good pigment and eye shape. Well liid shoulders and good front angulation. She is deep in rib with good balance through her body. Good bone with tight feet. She moved well for a baby with a good stride. BP & RBOB
2nd Kinchella’s Wynrita Call Me Elder Prince For Honeymill
Little to choose between these babies with only days between them in age. Masculine head showing good balance. Good length of neck to nicely laid shoulders. Level topine and wel angulated rear with good tailset. On the move he was true out and back, I just preferred the slightly more open stride of 1 in profile.
