Great Yarmouth Gorleston & District Canine Society

Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and District Canine Society

27th September 2025

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the officers and committee of the Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and District Canine Society for affording me the opportunity to judge at their well-organised and welcoming show. The friendly atmosphere and support from everyone involved made for a thoroughly enjoyable day.

A special thank you goes to my steward, whose efficiency and calm management ensured the smooth running of the ring throughout.

Apologies for any delay in my critique, moving house has added to my day to day pressures.

1st 703 Eastall’s Daedal Frozen in Time (AI)

8 year old female in excellent condition. Lovely head in equal proportions, no exaggerations, correct dark eye. Perfect v shaped ears. Straight front with plenty of bone. Well presented with a hard dense coat. Moved well.

2nd 706 Steinke’s Temtiz Miss Prim and Proper

A lovely female, just under 3 year old. Not as confident as the first and a little unsettled. Head is balanced, of correct shape, correct keen eye. Ears of good size and set correctly. Correct straight and level topline with deep chest. Presented in good condition and well handled. Would have preferred a slightly more bend to the stifle

1st 747 Simons Brucephela Quito Berry

Just under 3 year Male, a presented in great condition. Correct chisel shaped head of correct length showing no exaggeration, correctly framed by his v shaped ears, carried well and dropping just where they need to, giving him his handsome expression. Maybe would have benefited from a little more forechest to complete the picture. Hocks were well let down and stifle of correct shape giving a lovely outline, correct tail carriage. Straight movement in all directions, not always the cleanest of stands but when he was settled he showed himself to his best and in the challenge was rewarded with my Best of Breed.

1st 746 Redman’s Holbam Freya JW

3 year old female, pleasing head, correctly framed by lovely ear placement and a wicked glint to her eye. Correct front but she did not always stand true to show herself off to full advantage. All in proportion with pleasing shape, correct topline and well let down hocks. Coat in excellent condition and of correct texture, groomed to perfection. She did push hard in the challenge, Res BOB.

2nd 745 Cooke’s Montelle Flash Light to Lionwood

2 year old male, well matured and presented in good condition. Correct chisel shaped head, lovely keen eye and ears of correct size and set on well. Straight in front, with correct shoulder and plenty of bone and muscle. Chest is deep with enough spring of rib and he cuts up well to give a lovely profile. Sadly his movement was not as good as the 1st today.

1st 771 Stock’s Shemist Storm Lily

14 month old female who is a real character and really does exude her great temperament. She is a well constructed and muscled in all the right places to give a solid well balanced female at such a young age. Pleasing ear carriage, framing her head which is also in correct proportions. Good dentition. Correct front, shoulder placement and correct bone, balancing this with correct hock and stifle joints rewards her with correct pleasing movement. Best of Breed.

1st 772 Stock’s Vixenview Montero of Shemist

3 year old female, smaller than the BOB overall, would not doubt her ability to do a good days work. Initial impression gives a correct classy head, all in proportion. Straight front, slightly extended to rear just spoiling her top line in profile today. Lovely coat and in great condition.
