Judge Lyndsey Jones

Thank you to the society for the invite to judge my first pastoral group. I would like to send thanks to my wonderful stewards who worked hard all afternoon and kept the ring running very smoothly. Lastly, a huge thank you to all those exhibitors who entered and faced the torrential rain to attend the show and present their beautiful dogs. 

Border Collie

Puppy (3)

1st Bryning Psychedelic Kisses (Miss N Holtappel).7 month old black and white bitch of correct size and overall style. Lovely feminine head and most beautiful expression. Good for bone and well angulated. Moved steady and true. BP & Pup group 4.

2nd Wizaland Minnie The Moocha at Alsagri (Ms Cm & Miss Pa Wallbank & Lyon). 8 month old black and white bitch. Tall bitch than 1. Lovely head and dark eye. Well set ears. Good neck, level topline. Good bone. Would like a little more rear angulation. Moved well in front, a little close behind.

1st Bryning Assassins Creed (Miss N Holtappel) 7 month old tri coloured dog. Heavier all round than his litter sister (winner of previous class). Nice head and dark eye. Good neck, topline ok. Good tail set. Tight feet, good angulation. Moved well. 

Post Graduate (3,1)

1st Roydenbark Casablanca (Mrs M & Mr P Surridge) 2 year old feminine black and white bitch. Lovely head with distinct stop. Nice dark oval eye. Strong neck, into well placed shoulders and tight elbows. Level topline, with strong loin. Correct set and length of tail. Good angulation all round and standing on tight feet. Moved very well. BOB

2nd Blackgold Anise from Starside (Mrs P B Ward) 2 year old black and white bitch. Nice head with a correct brown eye. Ok for set of neck. Well boned and good front. Level topline and correct tail. A little close in rear on the move.

1st Amkamel Half Blood Prince JW (Mrs J Buckley) 3 year old black and white dog. Very masculine all through with plenty of power. Lovely eye and ear set. Very good for bone. Ok in forechest. Well sprung rib and short strong loin. Very angulated in rear. On good tight feet. Moved very well.

2nd Tonkory Yasmine (Mrs M & Mr P Surridge) 6 year old black and white bitch. Very pretty, ears ok. Well developed in forechest. Level topline with strong loin and correct tail set, maybe a little long in back. Balanced in angulation front and rear. Tight feet. Moved well.

3rd Kirkwind Tri Trinity (Mrs P B Ward)

1st Foveaux China Girl (Mr D & Mrs A Lawrence). 11 month old bitch, maturing well. Sturdy all through. Great forechest. Very pretty head. Loved her for eye shape and colour. Good ears. Moved very well with a brisk accurate action. BP.

2nd Ribblespride Kruger (Mrs Pf Hughes) 8 month old dog. Masculine dog of good size and substance. A little round in eye. Solid little body with a good lay of shoulder and level back. Well muscled which helped him move perfectly around the ring.

1st Brinscall Moors Bertie (Mr D & Mrs A Lawrence) 7 year old dog. Starting to show age a little with a bit of frosting around face. Good head and a nice eye. Ok for ear set. Still retaining a level topline into a good tailset which he kept on the move too. Moved well.

2nd Rosie Bouquet (Mrs R & Mr C Bowker) 2 year old tan bitch. Pretty head with a nice eye. Good ears. Not the topline of 1. Good bone and well muscled. Moved with a steady action.

1st Leyeside Mister Freddie (Mrs A Bancroft) I loved this 2 year old dog. So typical and such a showman! He has the most beautiful head and lovely almond shaped eye. So well to handle on the table with a sturdy, robust body. Great for bone. Strong level topline and correct tail set. Slight outward turn to front pasterns. Correct desired pencilling on toes. So smart and put together on the move. Just loved him!! BOB and Group 2. 

2nd Foxthyme Tilly (Mrs S Wiseman) 3 year old bitch, Pushed the winner hard but not quite the ring presence as 1. Lovely feminine bitch with a lovely head, slightly rounder in eye. Good ear size and set. Lovely strong neck and level topline. Enough bone for a bitch. Very well muscled, moved well.

1st Do You Know Who I Am (Miss A J Morris). 8 month old bitch with a lovely typical foxy expression. Dark oval eye and good ear of correct size and set, when she used them. Forechest is developing well. Good strong bone. Well sprung rib and level topline. Moved soundly. Very promising. BOB & BP.

Puppy (2)

1st Urban Legend Dilorini at Rozimba (Imp Pol), Breed: Briard (Mrs T & Mr S Wescott-Smith & Smith) 8 month old dog. Lovely overall shape and style. Really coming together well. Great for size and substance. Slightly longer than tall, well boned throughout. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders. Developing well in chest. Tight elbows held tight to body. Strong loin. Level topline into a correct length of tail. Balanced front and rear. Moved with power around the ring, keeping his topline. BP & Puppy group 1. 

2nd Rosschell Maid to Sparkle with Jopium, Breed: Australian Shepherd (Miss J Hodges). Ultra feminine blue merle bitch of 10 months. Really pushed winner hard. Lovely head of equal lengths. Good width and depth to muzzle. With nice almond eyes. Would maybe want a slightly higher set of ear. Good neck and great bone. Good length of leg and deep, well sprung rib. Slightly longer in loin. Good moderate angulation and strong hocks. Moved well.

Junior (7,5)

1st Knytshall Ragged Robin, Breed: Norwegian Buhund (Mr M & Mrs J & Mrs N Cobb & Cobb & Kent). 17 month old, black dog. Lovely dog with a beautiful eye and expression. Great ears when used. Well balanced all through with good straight bone, standing on lovely tight feet. Great length of rib and short strong loin. Correct high set tail carried over back. Perfectly angulated, allowing his to have a brisk, purposeful movement.

2nd Tyngeli Wishful Thinking, Breed: Hungarian Puli (Miss A Rhodes) 15 month old black dog. Lovely square overall outline, developing well. Small skull with correct muzzle proportions. Correct low set ear. High withers, ok topline. Ribs well developing. Quick stepping movement. Coat coming on well. 

Post Graduate (4,3)

1st Lizoni Lone Ranger, Breed: Collie (Smooth) (Ms B Leavesley) 2 year old. Lovely sleek head with dark oval eyes giving a lovely expression. Correct ears. Good strong bone. Sturdy body, level back, well ribbed back and strong loin. Great forechest. Moved very well and steady. Pushed hard in the challenge.

1st Ch Lisjovia Adagio avec Montmusique JW OSW, Breed: Pyrenean Mountain Dog (Mr C & Mrs K Goodwin) 7 year old exquisite bitch and great type and quality. Pretty head with correct dark oval eye. Perfect amount of stop and nice tight lip. Correct set of ear. Strong neck of correct length into well placed shoulders. Forelegs under body with good bone and tight feet. Level topline, with a good strong loin of correct width. Tail down past hock. Correct double dewclaws and strong hocks. Well angulated which allows her to effortlessly float around the ring. Could not deny her top honours today! BAVNSC, Group 1 and Veteran Group 1. 

2nd Nld/bel/int Ch Rosebud Daenerys Ir Jch, Breed: German Shepherd Dog (Mrs S Kearnan). 7 year old bitch. Really liked the overall shape and balance of this bitch. Still plenty of strength and power, even in her veteran years. Correct ratios, slightly longer than tall. Strong back with a slight fall away to croup. Well angulated, without any weakness. Strong in hocks. Front pasterns only slightly sloping. Elbows tight to body. Moved with power and great stride. A delight to judge!

1st Tamalden All Eyes On Me (ai), Breed: White Swiss Shepherd Dog (T Brown) 9 month old bitch. Ultra feminine with a lovely oval eye. Good length of neck into well placed shoulders. Good bone and straight forelegs with correct slight turn to front pasterns. Good depth of rib. Strong loin. Well angulated. Moved well.

1st Tamalden A Head of The Game, Breed: White Swiss Shepherd Dog (Mrs T & Mr S Brown & Smith) Litter brother to puppy winner and many of the same comments apply. I think hes something super special and will do lots of winning! Precise mover and free stands so well just as a correctly made dog should. One to watch! BOB, BP Adult group 4 and Puppy group 3.

Group 3 – Shadowess If I Can Dream at Cochochr, Breed: Shetland Sheepdog (Mrs S Hughes) 10 month old Sable and white dog. The most beautiful of heads, with a lovely dark expressive eye. Very elegant, with great proportions. High set semi erect ears. Good length of neck which is strong. Level back and square in outline. Good bone and great feet. Correct low set tail. Beautifully presented and moved with a light, smooth action. Loved him.

1st Balidorn Olympic Star with Solyric, Breed: Shetland Sheepdog (Miss H Gamble) 15 month old sable and white dog. Lovely head and dark almond eye. Well placed ears but very conscious of surrounding, making him a little unsettled today and not really wanting to use his ears much. Slightly squarer in outline. Deep, well developed chest. Good for bone and short loin. Low set tail. Moved well and parallel.
