Saltburn & District Canine Society Premier Open Show, 13.04.25

Firstly I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge today. Huge thankyou to all of the exhibitors who brought there dogs under me today, and to my lovely steward who kept things running smoothly throughout.

Class 337 - Chinese Crested Open 2 Entries 1 Abs

1st & BOB - 548 , Simpson, C - Rominjay Mythical Vouge.

A laced Grey/White girl who has been under me before, a shame to see her stood alone but deserved her placing. Lovely tight shoulders and deep chest, compact body but everything in the right place showing great balance. Detention good for age. Pretty Head, with lovely dark eye, tight cheeks, however I would prefer less back skull. Moved true coming and going, tail is set correct however would prefer a looser carrige, shown today again in immaculate condition for her age.

Class 340 - Chihuahua (Long Coat) Open 1 Entry

1st & BOB - 549, Gray, Mrs A - Sanati Soul Ch Fiji Love For Rubyanlo

4 Y/O Red and White Dog who had a pleasing head piece with large round eyes that were placed well, lovely dark pigment. Ears used at all times which are placed correctly. Good length to muzzle with definite stop. Clean straight front with elbows tight to chest. Would prefer a touch shorter in body for overall balance. High set tail carried correct over his firm top line. Moved well both ways when he got going.

Class 344 - King Charles Spaniel, Graduate, 2 entires 1 Abs.

1st & BPIB - 558, Maddison Miss S, Mitapip Macallan

Lovely Sound B&T baby, just 6 months old. He has a lovely head, with the sweetest expression. Ears are set well. Nice Dark eyes. Would prefer a touch more length to neck, however that leads to correctly placed shoulders. Super angles both front and back, tail was carried well and didn’t stop wagging! A pleasure to see such a happy baby. Coat coming in well.

Class 355 - King Charles Spaniel, Open, 2 Entries 1 Abs.

1st & BOB - 557, Maddison Miss S, Justacharma Northen Magic.

Another Happy boy from this exhibitor. 6 YO Male. Lovely large dark eyes set into correct skull. Nice Square Muzzle with Big dark nose. Correct low set ears, flat to cheek. Lovely feathering. Enough neck. Nicely rounded ribs, slightly shorter in loin would complete overall balance. Well muscled rear and moved out with drive. Well presented.

Class 346 - Lowchen (Little Lion Dog) Graduate, 1 Entry.

1st - 346, Richardson Mrs D & Miss Z A, Melcia Right Said Fred For Hollinsclose.

Mature 15 Month old Dog. Grey & White. Magnificent head, correct proportions, large dark eyes and dark pigment, strong muzzle. Ears set well, great fringes. Fantastic compact body with great substance. Presents a beautiful silhouette, being well sprung in rib, short compact loin. Moved out with such drive from his well muscled rear, correct turn of stifle and low hocks, could be neater coming towards. Chest wide. Correct for neck; level topline. Tail well set and carried at all times. Coat presented today in beautiful condition. Pushed for BOB however his kennel mate pipped him to the post.

Class 347 - Lowchen (Little Lion Dog) Open, 1 Entry.

1st & BOB - Richardson Mrs D & Miss Z A, Hollinsclose As It Was. I loved this boy, right up my street. 20 month old, B&W Dog. Stunning head, short muzzle, flat skull, deep dark eyes, correct detention. Arched neck, leading into correct shoulder placement, elbows set tight to his deep chest. He is short and compact, with perfect balance. Strong loin with excellent tuck up. Solid top line and tail set excellent. On the move is where he came into his own, he has an air of arrogance about him which I loved. Driving from his correct rear, showing correct angles and muscle tone. Neat and tidy coming towards. Completely parallel from all angles. Presented in immaculate coat and condition. I am very sure he has a bright future and I will follow with interest.
