Many thanks to the committee members for inviting me to judge my breed, Chinese Cresteds, and to the exhibitors for your entries.

Puppy -

2 Entries, 2 Absent.

Junior -

2 Entries, 1 Absent.

1st 83, Peppett, Mrs G, Karamouche Top Hat’nTails - Black and White 13 M/O PP Dog. Slightly overwhelmed initially, but persistence paid off and he settled well . Presented in immaculate condition, displaying a true veil coat. Correct head proportions with tight cheeks, excellent length of muzzle and sufficient chiselling, complemented by deep, dark eyes that give the desired expression. Dentition is perfect. Large, erect, flaring ears, set a touch high for my preference. Good length of neck flowing into a well-placed shoulder, tight to the body. Chest will develop further with maturity, which should enhance front movement. Rock-solid topline. I would prefer a little more length of loin to improve overall balance and allow increased drive from the rear; however, he has sufficient rear angulation with nice low hocks. Once settled and moving confidently, his tail carriage was correct and he presented a pleasing overall picture. RBOB.

Post Graduate -

5 Entries, 2 Absent.

1st, 84, Piper, Mrs Christine A, Miatory Split Decision For Zanjero JW - 2 Y/O Mahogany HL Dog, Presented today in top-notch condition. Up to size for my preference; however, in profile he is completely balanced and presents a super outline. Head is acceptable, with good length of muzzle, though a touch broad in backskull for perfection. Nice dark eyes, giving the desired expression. Bite was OK. Good length of neck. Front assembly is ok with well-laid-back shoulders. Good strong ribbing with correct length of loin, dropping away slightly at the croup. Excellent rear angulation and very well muscled. Tail set and carriage are correct. Unfortunately, on the day he did not move to his best advantage and presented his handler with a challenge.

2nd, 86, Seed, Miss Stacey, Chundercrest Mazikeen Might - 20 M/O Black & White Minimally HL Bitch, who has been under me before. I would like to commend her owner for their perseverance, as her confidence and showmanship have improved tenfold since I last assessed her. Presented in immaculate condition, soft subtle skin. Sweet expression with pleasing head proportions, though I would prefer eyes to be a touch less round. Correct bite. Large, erect ears, used well. She would benefit from more depth of chest, and her shoulders are set a touch high; however, in profile she presents a pleasing outline. Good length of neck, solid topline, and tail set and carried correctly. Moved accurately on the away, showing a well-muscled rear.

Open -

10 Entries, 6 Absent.

1st, 75, Dowsett, Miss D, CH Doonbeg Reach for the Sky Tteswood JW SH.CM - There is no secret as to how much I admire this bitch. For me, she is a first-class example, displaying outstanding breed type. At 11 years of age she still presents like a youngster. Black and white PP Bitch, shown in a correct, immaculate veil coat. She possesses a stunning headpiece with correct proportions, excellent chiselling, tight cheeks and beautiful dark almond-shaped eyes, giving a very feminine and appealing expression. Dentition remains complete. Large, erect, flaring ears. Correct length of neck flowing into well-placed shoulders and a deep chest, allowing excellent reach in front. Correct hare feet. Excellent length of body, well-rounded rump, and a beautiful turn of stifle with nice low hocks. She drove confidently around the ring with correct tail set and carriage and commands attention throughout. Delighted to award her BOB once again.

2nd, 79, Farquharson, Mrs Mandy, Shanshal Man Of Steel JW - Silver/Cream PP Dog. Masculine yet refined head, correct proportions throughout and deep, dark eyes. Correct bite. Ears erect, though set a touch high for my preference. Fantastic front assembly with tight elbows and a deep chest. Moved true coming and going, maintaining a solid topline. He looks a picture in side profile. Up to size for my preference; however, he is completely balanced with everything in proportion. Nice turn of stifle, with tail correctly set and carried up at all times. Shown in a stunning, correct veil coat, which is sadly uncommon today. A close contender for RBOB, but on this occasion I preferred the overall size of my Junior.
