Show – East Anglian Border Collie Club - SAC

Date – 3 July 2025

Judge – Lynda Nicholas (Nickarlyn)

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge their Special Awards Classes. To all exhibitors who entered as there was a lot happening on the day, it was my pleasure to judge your dogs and appreciate every entry. All displayed excellent temperament and presented in clean condition.

SAC – J D/B (1,1)

SAC – PG D/B (5,0)

1 Portman - Laceway Black Sabbath

Class headed by 2 brothers just rising 2 yrs, who am sure will swap places time over. B&W Masculine head, square muzzle, kind, dark, oval eye. Alert expression and mobile ears. Well-constructed throughout, bone and body complement frame with excellent proportions. Smooth flowing outline standing/on the move. Short hocks and good muscle tone ensured he moved soundly away. Good side gait with accurate footfall maintaining body shape.

2 Carley & Fawcett - Laceway Bite the Bullet with Jupavia

Similar style to winner. Correct skull/muzzle proportions. Good length to neck and OK front assembly would prefer a tad more length to upper arm. Ribs carried well back, deep brisket and muscular correct loin. Sweep to croup with good tail set and carriage. Covered the ground well, today not quite the fluidity of 1.

SAC – O D/B (3,1)

1 Lee & Green - Fayken I am Soul (JW)

Well balanced head dark eye and sensitive use of ears give alert, appealing expression. Length to neck flowed into well-placed shoulders with matching upper arm. Scored for body proportions and matching angles. Moderate turn of stifle and short below hock. Stands on textbook legs and feet, good musculature of second thigh. Showed reach and drive and good side gait with typical head/body position held throughout.

2 Buckley - Amkamel Half Blood Prince (JW)

B/W whose type and style appealed. Balanced head with distinct stop and kind eye. Spot-on for size and substance, balanced throughout with correct proportions. Just preferred the front assembly of winner. Moved soundly using good hindquarters holding an excellent body profile with accurate footfall without lift.
