Shetland Sheepdogs

P (4,1)

1 Pierce – Philhope Clearly Precious

What a way to start the day – BP and PGrp 1. Sable girl 11 mths – the consummate showgirl! Appealed for overall balance, size and shape. Sweetest expression with good head planes, blunt wedge and fill to muzzle. Well placed/tipped ears that she used to full advantage. Textbook body proportions and good bone ending in correct pasterns and feet. Well set long tail carried low. Moved as her angles suggested, light and effortless with ground coverage showing reach and drive.

2 Creamer – Shezaray Beyond the Galaxy

7 mth nice coloured blue. Head showing parallel planes and well-placed stop, expression could be enhanced by slightly more almond/oblique eyes. Larger in frame than winner. Shown in correct puppy coat. A little unsettled today but showed me enough reach and drive on the move.

J (3,0)

Such a difficult age for coats.

1 Rossiter – Cocaro the Highlander

14 mth flashy sable. Handsome head, balanced proportions with light ground covering gait took this lad to BOB. Decent fill of muzzle, good head planes - blunt wedge from all angles. Good under-jaw. Well placed/tipped ears used non-stop. Quite the showman. Good reach of neck with proud head carriage with balanced angulations front & rear. OK shoulders, decent return of upper-arm and depth to chest. Ribcage extends well back, graceful sweep over a strong loin. Correct bone and feet. Moved with ease and elegance, minimal foot lift.

2 Gruszka – Achor’s Surprise Himalaya over Samphrey (Imp Che)

Blue girl 16 mths. Head a clean blunt wedge with correct stop would prefer a more almond shaped eye. Impressed with her front assembly although slightly camouflaged by large black patch. Firm topline with enough bone for her frame; prefer slightly better front pasterns/feet. Moderate turn of stifle and short below the hock. Moved well with accurate footfall - but not quite the side gait of winner.

2 sable ladies headed this class

1 Diviney – Divinecroi’s Bonny Ailbhe

Wedge shaped head of good length, parallel planes, correct stop and dark eye. Feminine in outlook. Correct body proportions. Ribs reached well back with slight rise over loin. At times tends to stand with rear legs under herself that spoils overall silhouette. Efficient ground-coverage on the move.

2 Rossiter – Molson More About Me at Cocaro

Different type to winner. Pretty headed female, dark eye though a little full, ears used to advantage though could be a little lighter/tighter. Good height to length ratio. Spot on for size and enough bone. Stands on good legs and feet. Excellent coat and condition. Moved well. Just preferred the expression of winner

Shaded sable 4 ½ year old of good type. Parallel head planes, well filled muzzle and decent underjaw. Good neck into well laid shoulders and return of upper-arm. Correct height/length ratio. Balanced angulations front & rear allowed her to moved well – not quite as smooth and graceful as winner.

1 Ross – Samshernik Penny Lover

10 mth sable girl. Parallel head planes, flat backskull and well moulded foreface. Correct stop with almond eye and well placed/tipped ears that she used - feminine expression. Has lots of developing to drop into her lovely frame and would like to see her carrying a bit more weight/condition – which will come as she matures. Well angulated front and rear. Beautifully presented in correct puppy coat.

PG (2,1)

1 Ross – Samshernik Majestic Boy

Flashy sable boy, litter brother to the puppy class winner and very much the same type and quality but a little more mature. Correctly made handsome head, clean neck leading to well laid shoulder and correct return of upper arm. Depth to chest and well ribbed. Covered the ground with good stride length though needs to tighten-up in movement RBOB & BP

L (1,0)

1 Lyall – Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas

Shaded sable lady who belies her age (almost 10 yrs) Head handled well, good expression, dark eye and correct stop. Attentive to handler, using ears to advantage. Good length to back, balanced front and rear angulations, short below the hock. OK bone but would prefer slightly tighter front feet. Moved out and back showing reach and drive holding topline with well set/carried tail. Shown in great coat/condition – utmost respect to her owner for keeping her in such amazing condition
