1. Stevenson – Peasblossom Brogan at Gaolachcara – dog with a masculine head, balanced in outline with ample reach of neck, nice lay of shoulder, strong topline, well muscled rear quarters giving drive on the move and lovely straight front legs as he came powering towards me.
English Springer Open (3 entries, 1 absentee)
1. Rose – Pinereoch Amethyst of Rosannoch - bitch who took my eye entering the ring, such an elegant outline, correct reach of neck, plenty of depth and width of chest, strong rear quarters and presented in immaculate coat and condition. BOB
2. Stevenson – Spuffing Daiquiri at Gaolachcara – bitch puppy of 9 months of age with such a lot to like, just out matured to my class winner today. Loved her flow of neck into strong well placed shoulders. Good depth and width of chest, strong in body with plenty of width across the loin. BP and delighted to award her Puppy Group 2.
Welsh Springer Spaniels
Welsh Springer Spaniel Post Graduate (3 entries, 0 absentees)
1. Macdonald – Nyliram The Detective – Dog with such a merry nature wagging all the time clearly enjoying being shown, he has a very strong body with well sprung ribs, deep in chest with plenty of width. Very strong in rear quarters excelling in muscle of the second thigh allowing for a driving movement. BOB
2. Tillett – Glory Road Fan’t Detica (Imp NLD) – Dog of just 13 months of age and of a different type to my class winner. Gave his handler rather a hard time with his over excitement today. Loved this young dogs head and dark eye, he has plenty of depth and spring of rib for his age too. Just preferred the straight front legs of my class winner today.
3. Knox and Mole – Jennifer Our Lady Welsh at Edincraw

1. Knox and Mole – Zaza Florence Our Lady Welsh at Edincraw (Imp NLD) – Bitch of 7 years of age. Feminine in head, gorgeous dark eyes giving a gently expression and correctly set ears. Excels in rear quarters and correct rear angulation.

1. Nicolson – Knockhalon Spooktacular of Taranstigh – Dog with a well developed head and tight eye, good bone throughout, excels in shoulder placement and width and depth of chest, strong rear quarters.
2. Stevenson – Knockhalan Put A Spell On You – Bitch that is the litter sister to my class winner and I can see that these two will switch and change places and they really are like peas in a pod so the attributes above also apply here, I just preferred the bit more spring of rib on the litter brother at this moment in time.

1. Nicolson – Clumbus Jolly Jumper of Taranstigh (Imp DNK) – Dog that shouts im a dog just as he should, masculine in head without being overdone. Oozes quality, so well off for bone, good depth and width of chest and very well sprung ribs. Fabulous rear quarter angulation and so well muscled. Moved around the ring with drive covering ground effortlessly. BOB
2. Nixon – Stonielea Williams Charm at Glenbruetti – Bitch with such a balanced head and tight eye, good reach of neck and correctly placed well muscled shoulders.

1. Mcgeachie – Malbecmogs Lady Of The Lake at Klanhallion – Bitch that might have stood alone today but one with so much to like. Well off for bone throughout, firm topline both stacked and on the move, well set tail and carriage on the move. Presented in immaculate coat and condition. Made my shortlist in the Gundog Group.
American Cocker Spaniel
American Cocker Spaniel Open (2 entries, 0 absentees)
1. Stokes – Jaclee Broadway Madam at Twizeltree – Bitch with a feminine well chiselled head of correct proportions and dark tight eye. Plenty of depth of chest and spring of rib on this bitch and short in coupling. Strong topline with the gentle slope required, correctly set tail and correct carriage on the move. Well presented. BOB and delighted to award her third place in a quality gundog group.
2. Mckenzie and Robertson – Kenoula Big Spender – Black and Tan dog that excels in width and depth of chest. Well boned throughout and liked his muscular powerful rear quarters. Just preferred the tail carriage of my winner today.
AVNSC Gundog
AVNSC Gundog Open (1 entry, 0 absentees)
1. Emmrouche Erminio – Lagotto Romagnolo dog that was certainly on form to enjoy his time in the ring today. Gorgeous head and eye, correct reach of neck. Loved his rear angulation. Certainly moved with purpose covering ground effortlessly with plenty of reach on the fore and drive from the rear.
I would just like thank everyone who braved the horrendous rain that I judged the gundog group in I really appreciated that you stayed and got very wet. It was a fabulous quality group that was more than worth me getting a soaking for.
Gundog Group
1. Murchison – Kerryfair Please Please Me Corphin – Irish Setter dog that I just could not ignore, masculine balanced head, excellent reach of neck flowing faultlessly into correctly placed shoulders, excels in widths and depth of chest, strong topline both stacked and on the move, his correct angulation both fore and after allows him to cover ground with reach and drive in an effortless drive.
2. Russell – Grassyards Field Of Gold JW – Golden Retriever, this bitch pushed hard in the group, I notice I gave her mother the champions class as I was doing my write ups and what can I say other than the apple didn’t fall far from the tree! She has the most exquisite head and dark eye with such a sweet gentle expression, so balanced in outline both stacked and on the move, well boned throughout with plenty of width, depth of chest and spring of rib, moved with purpose and im sure has a very bright future ahead.
3. Stokes – Jaclee Broadwat Madam at Twizeltree – American Cocker Spaniel, as per my breed notes above.
4. Hamilton – Baco De Los Malvares – German Wirehaired Pointer dog with such a lot to like and clearly capable of doing the job he was bred to do, he is full of breed type and his bone, substance and muscle tone accompanied with correct angulation all round allowed for a free flowing driving movement.
Gundog Puppy Group
1. Murchison – Harelferg Penny Lane via Corphin – Irish Setter bitch that I just had to give the puppy group to, her quality just shouts look at me. Fabulous head, feminine with correct proportions from any angle. Correct reach of neck, plenty of width and depth of chest and a good spring of rib for her age. Her correct angulation allowed a ground covering movement with great precision. Delighted to see her take RBPIS soon after winning the gundog puppy group, a huge well done.

Mackessack-Leitch – Badcall Midwinter Dream at Inchstellie – Flat Coated Retriever – bitch with the most wonderful head, loved her reach of neck and excels in spring of rib, strong topline both stacked and on the move flowing to a correctly set tail and correct tail carriage on the move, moved out positively and with drive.
4. Madigan – Misperros Sapphira – Cocker Spaniel bitch of typical type that we have grown to expect from this fabulous quality producing kennel. Super feminine head with dark eye giving the correct gentle expression, ample reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders, gives a balanced outline both stacked and on the move, moved well and at one with her handler. One with maturity on her back will without doubt be one to watch.
Again thank you to everyone who stayed through the horrendous rain to take part in the AV Gundog classes when the rain thankfully stopped for us. I really appreciated you staying.

1. Vallance – Rowanmyle Of Prudent Lore – English Setter, stood along but such a sweet bitch with the most fabulous reach of neck flowing faultlessly into correctly placed shoulders, loved her spring of rib for her age. Moved well.
AV Gundog Puppy (12 entries, 9 absentees)
1. Lawrie – Inverella Hugo Boss – Cocker Spaniel – Black dog that’s just my cuppa tea, balanced in head with dark eye giving the correct gentle expression. Correct reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders, short and cobby with a good spring of rib and width across the loin. Correct tail set and carriage. Moved faultlessly with drive and reach, particularly liked his good width at the rear on the move. Presented in fabulous coat and condition.
2. Macfarlane – Harelferg Macfarlane For Umfrido – Irish Setter – unfortunate to meet my class winner today, good reach of neck, well off for spring of rib, fabulous rear angulation, moved well.

1. Macfarlane – Harelferg New Tricks for Umfrido SHCEX SHCOEX – Irish Setter – dog with such a stunning outline flowing from good reach of neck to well placed shoulders down to a strong topline and correct tail set and carriage. Moved out with drive covering ground effortlessly.
2. Munro – Xclusiv Pour Dulmaur Belefleur Du Roux-Miroir – Gordon Setter – Bitch with such a lovely head, perfect stop definition and dark tight eye. Good reach of neck and well placed shoulders with width and depth of chest.
3. Leslie – Stripehead Impact – Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla

1. Munro – Panthera Bad Medicine Dulmaur (imp pol) SHCEX – bitch who won this class on her effortless ground covering movement. Another from this exhibitor with a wonderful head, good reach of neck and well placed shoulders. Excells in rear angulation allowing that driving action on the move.
2. Skinner – Kenynten Naked Ambition at Kaimerlay – cocker spaniel black and tan bitch with the sweetest of feminine heads and tight dark eye. Short cobby and compact in body, well angulated rear quarters, moved well.

1. Russell – SH CH Grassyards Call Me Madame JW – Golden Retriever – My notes on this bitch say one word, stunning! Took my eye as soon as she entered the ring, in fact she demanded my attention. I could happily write the breed standard for this bitch but I wont, she is absolutely top draw and it was an utter pleasure to get to go over her so thank you for bringing her for me to judge.
2. Mason, Club and Findlay – SH CH Oroshaza Chukar VW CW18 – Hungarian Vizslar dog that was so unlucky to meet my class winner as he too is such a worthy champion that I was honoured to get the opportunity to judge. He is a very is a strong, well muscled dog throughout. Correct reach of neck, strong topline, excels in rear angulation and oozes muscle on his rear quarters. Moved positively and covered ground at pace. Later was Best Veteran Gundog
