Despite the biblical rain what a fantastic show Pollard is, I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Everyone just carried on regardless! A big thank you to my two fantastic stewards who kept the ring moving at great pace to try and keep everyone as dry as we could.

Welsh Springer Spaniel

Post Graduate (2 entries, 1 absentee)

1. Yacoub – Laithmoor’s Felka – feminine bitch, balanced throughout with a strong topline and correct tail carriage, moved positively.

Open (3 entries, 2 absentees)

1. Yacoub – Laithmoor’s Red Grenadine JW – 7 year old dog, loved his powerful correctly placed shoulders, excels in depth of chest and spring of rib, good width across the loin, strong well muscled rear quarters. Well boned throughout. BOB

American Cocker Spaniel

Post Graduate (3 entries, 0 absentees)

1. Fryer – Dreamcast Elysium at Carolco – 17 month old bitch with the most fabulous head with dark expressive eyes. Balanced angulation throughout with good reach of neck, strong topline and ample spring of rib, moved positively with drive. BOB and Gundog Group 4.

2. Clay – Americlass Dita Von Parti – 8 month old bitch, out matured by my class winner today but a puppy with a lot to like at this stage, fabulous shoulders and overall balance of angulation. BP gutted she didn’t stay for the puppy group.

3. Clay – Americlass Holywood Parti

2. Clay – Americlass Holywood Parti – litter brother to my class winner, very similar in type just preferred the tighter eye of my class winner today.

English Springer Spaniel

1. Cokell – Carlyquinn Winter Storm JW – a bitch I judged as a puppy and she is maturing beautifully. Love her well-proportioned feminine head, correct reach of neck, well laid shoulders, ample spring of rib, strong topline and powerful rear quarters used to her advantage on the move. BOB and Gundog Group 2.

Field Spaniel

Post Graduate (1 entry, 0 absentees)

1. Wood – Nadavin Nusa at Sagala – 2 year old black bitch, head just as you would wish for with moderate stop and dark tight eye, correctly placed shoulders, good length of rib and width of loin, powerful rear quarters allowed driving movement. BOB

AVNSC Gundog

1. Ponsford – Clonaghadoo Felicity (IKC) – Irish Red and White Setter of 15 months of age. Not a fan of the rain today, excels in reach of neck and well placed shoulders.

Gundog Group

1. Robbins & Rowark – Berkswood Lady Eleanor – Golden Retriever – this bitch just demanded my attention on entering the ring and she didn’t disappoint on going over her. Everything on this bitch just flows faultlessly from a strong neck of correct reach to the balance of correct angulation both fore and after, a strong topline and correct tail carriage. Covered ground effortlessly with drive.

2. Cokell – Carlyquinn Winter Storm JW – ESS as per ESS breed notes

3. Terry – Shaggylands Midnight Train JW – Cocker Spaniel dog who I judged earlier in the year and for me he is maturing perfectly. Masculine in head, strong topline, correctly angulated throughout that shows in his exceptional reach and drive on the move. One with a bright future ahead.

4. Fryer – Dreamcast Elysium ay Carolco – American Cocker as per American Cocker breed notes

Gundog Puppy Group

1. Trow – Winterwell Folies Berger – GSP puppy who oozes breed type, masculine in head, excels in reach of neck, width and depth of chest. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the rain but carried on regardless covering ground effortlessly.

2. Birkin-Green & Gripton – Louellabrook Atlantic Star with Sansue – Golden Retriever so unfortunate to meet my winner today and one who has a bright future ahead im sure. Just love this dogs reach of neck flowing faultlessly into well muscled correctly placed shoulders, excels in well muscled rear quarters.

3. Layton – Layways All About You – Hungarian Vizsla dog with a fabulous head, strong well muscled shoulders, well off for bone throughout and the most wonderful tight feet.

4. Bovio – Star at Station – Italian Spinone bitch, head correct for age, well off for bone moved with purpose.

Reserve Best of Breed Group

1. Trow – Winterwell Folies Berger – GSP – as per puppy group winner

AV Gundog Veteran

1. Robbins & Rowark - Quakerhall Lady Bountiful by Brekswood JW – Golden Retriever who turned out to be the mother to my Gundog Group winner well the apple certainly didn’t fall far from the tree as the saying goes. This bitch is so balanced there is nothing overdone at all. Excels in width and depth of chest and the most wonderful well placed powerful shoulders. Later awarded Best Veteran in Show.

2. Sillince - Meadowgold Clown Prince for Tomlow – Pointer dog that was so unfortunate to meet my class winner as there is such a lot to like about him. Loved his head and eye, good reach of neck flowing into correctly placed shoulders, strong topline, moved with positivity and drive.
