The Newfoundland Club Special Award Classes, Saturday 22nd February 2025

Many thanks to the welcoming committee of the Newfoundland Club for this appointment to judge their Special Award Classes. I had the most enjoyable day with great dogs to judge.

Special Awards Junior

29 Farrar’s Disoranto Cool Hand Luke at Darkpeak, at almost 12mths old he was masculine and stylish. His silhouette is balance, he’s got strong bone with no coarseness. Lovley head proportions, good pigment and nice neck. He has a level topline on stance and holds on the move too. His side profile is eye catching as he covers the ground effortlessly.

52 Popple’s Mileoak Wishing on a Star. Another with a balanced feminine head. Good neck, top line could be a touch firmer, strong rear and easy to watch on the move. She is feminine throughout yet with strong bone.

33 Groves’s Newgarden Hope And Glory For Bridgestone B Apr 2024 Brown 10mth old girl who was nice in outline, strong bone, good pigment and moved well.

Special Awards Post Graduate

1 Adair’s Chateaunewf Make My Day For Darebear, impressive black 2 year old bitch who impressed on stance and movement to win this class. Compact muscular body, strong bone and correct angulation front and rear. Really moved out well to clinch this class.

7 Baldock’s Spellbound De Le Bair De Pempoul (imp Fra), 3-year-old girl with a nice outline on the stance. Good bone, fit and well-muscled, could be a tad firmer in topline. Balanced head proportions with nice ear set and lovely eyes.

35 Hietschold’s Davistell Babee Love At Chrishelkate (AI), another girl with a gentle expression and lovely eyes and ears to compliment. Although not big she has strong bone and is balanced.

Special Awards Open

2 Adair’s Ch King Of Helluland Love Actually At Darebear (IMP) JW ShCM ShCEx OSW, couldn’t quite believe this girl is almost 8 years old, she certainly shows no sign of age or slowing down. She effortlessly moves around the ring with her impressive reach and drive whilst holding her level topline. She is strong, compact yet feminine. She is fit, well-muscled and covered in the most impressive of coats. Her head is broad, nice eyes and ear set, and gentle expression completes the picture.

28 Farrar’s Ch Darkpeak Starlight Express, another from the top draw and I really was splitting hairs. Her shape is textbook, she is substantial yet feminine, super head proportions too. Her side gait is so easy to watch, powerfully moving around the ring on her large tight feet.

25 Crosier's Nurburgnewf Cayman, another impressive dog who doesn’t disappoint on stance or on the move. Has powerful rear movement, holds his topline and is presented immaculately.
