Smooth Collie - The Vulnerable Native Breeds -Sunday 24th August 2025 (hosted by Lancashire Heeler Association)

I was so delighted with my entry of 22 Smooths at this lovely, welcoming show. My thanks to the committee and stewards, and to the exhibitors for their support and sportsmanship. I must say this breed really impresses me; their temperaments, body condition, fitness and ring presence is the whole package.

Puppy

75 Holmes & Lusty’s Blamorder Starman – BPIB. 7mths old and enjoying his day in the ring. Alert with a lovely expression and good ear placement. Topline level on the move, he covered the ground well with a nice side gait.

88 Wensley’s Blamorder Starstruck, little sister to winner and a feminine version of her brother. Nice shape and balanced throughout, just felt her brother moved a touch better today. Lovely head with dark eyes and correct bite. Like her brother is developing well.

Special Yearling

71 Benton& Bemelmans’ Blamorder Double or Quits of Oakestelle JW – feminine blue merle with a well-proportioned head. Correct eye shape and set and good ears too. Balanced throughout with good bone and stood on very good feet. Super outline both stood and on the move. On the move she really shines, showing how her correctly angulation front and rear really emphases her easy ground covering gait. Res Best Bitch

86 Thomas & Lusty’s Blamorder Side Hustle With Mournebrake, a super masculine lad with much to like. His colour is so eye catching. Liked his head proportions and dark almond eye. Arched neck leading into well laid shoulder. He’s got a reaching side gait; he’s fit and in good condition.

72 Davies-Brown’s Blamorder I Dreamed A Dream at Wystry

77 Howe’s Lizoni The Drifter- masculine from nose to tail. Flat skull, clean head with good ears and dark pigment. Arched neck, good chest and correct topline. Nice bone and stood on tidy feet. He moved with ease.

Open Dog

73 Haywood’s Wynele Double Trouble at Foxearth – RBOB – what a stunning male. He’s such a show off in the ring and has a look at me attitude. Super head, with correct wedge shape, scissor bite with good underjaw. Ears and eyes well placed and kind expression. Arched neck, super front assembly with correct angulation and straight front legs. Muscled and in great condition. Loved his overall outline and so easy on the move. Best Dog and RBOB.

85 Seager’s Blamorder Magic Maker With Freejack JW – Strong and masculine with a lovely kind expression. Good neck leading into a firm topline. Angulated front and rear and stood on neat feet. Moved out well.

84 Richardson’s Koczkodan Sweet Dreams Of Lizoni – a feminine girl who is attractive and eye catching. Excellent ears and eye set, correct stop with wedge shaped head. Good shoulder placement and forechest, well sprung ribs. She moved out well with a good side gait.

70 Benton’s Ch Oaskestelle Venus De Milo VW ShCEx –I can’t believe this girl is 12 years old – what a credit to the breed and her owner. Lovely head with good reach of neck and front assembly. Her movement shows no sign of slowing down. Classy in every way. BVIB

Champion – what a super class of champions.

74 Holmes & Lusty’s Ch Blamorder Makers Mark JW bob – Such a beautiful outline, correct head shape with medium eyes and sweet expression. Nice reach of neck, good front assembly with deep chest. Strong level topline with require slight rise over loin. Angulated, well-muscled rear. She moved so effortless around the ring with her smooth long strides. Handled to perfection. BOB.

68 Benton’s Ch Brackenhaye Queen of Hearts of Oakestelle –5yo tri feminine girl with a nice outline. Alert with a typical expression coming from her balanced head. Super movement and pushed the winner hard. Correct angles front and rear. Another in great condition with her muscled well boned body.

89 Wensley’s Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive – a super lad so worthy of his champion title. Balanced throughout with effortless movement RBOB

69 Benton’s Ch Oakestelle Artemis ShCEx VW – delightful 8yo blue merle with such lovely colour. Feminine head. Stood naturally on good feet. Liked her outline and balance and she moved out well holding her topline.
