Hyde and District canine association open show 19.4.25

Many thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge Dalmatians, Chow Chows and Tibetan spaniels at their open show. I was given a warm welcome on arrival and was supported throughout the day by ring stewards Tracey and Gareth. Thank you to all the exhibitors who presented their dogs to me today and for accepting their placings with good sportsmanship. The ring was of adequate size for the Tibetan spaniels and Chow chows, but the Dalmatians would have benefitted from more space to move. I feel some dogs would benefit from more socialisation and ring craft to be shown to their best advantage, this did affect placement decision in some classes.

1st Donnelly Mr S, Mrs M. Tamilanda Golden Leaf, 14-month-old liver spotted bitch. She presents a pleasing outline on the stand with attractive liver spotting, feminine but has substance. Good length of neck and well-defined withers. She has a good spring of rib and level topline. Still has some maturing to do and was a little erratic on the move so was out moved by BOB in the challenge.

2nd Morris Mr. E. Louis De Valentin, 16-month black spotted dog. Attractive masculine head with dark eye and a kind expression, good bone and muscling up nicely. Moderately angulated fore and aft but is shorter in loin than 1 so is squarer in outline. On the move he was not happy about something and kept stopping so unfortunately his movement was difficult to assess. I hope his handler is able to resolve this.

Post Graduate 3

1st Ward Mrs P. Louabidora Show Stopper at Frankish, 2 yr old black spotted bitch. Very pretty, elegant bitch with pleasing spotting. Her well broken ears beautifully frame her face. Good head planes and moderate stop, dark eyes, firm topline and good spring of rib. She has a good turn of stifle and correct cat-like feet. Shown in excellent condition. On the move her tracking is neat which won her this class.

2nd Leak Mrs R. Tamilanda Continental Icon, 4yr old black spotted dog. His handler advised me he was new to showing. He is on the small side for a male. Attractively marked with even black spotting, balanced head with an appealing expression, good length of neck but top line needs to strengthen as he tended to roach his back on the move. Although his movement was erratic, he demonstrated potential for good reach and drive.

1st Foster Mrs L. Perdita’s Tomorrowland JW ShCEx OSW, 4yr old black spotted bitch. Attractive spotting, feminine head with good ear carriage, good length of neck and lay back of shoulder, firm topline and correct set of tail. She is muscular and lean with a pleasing outline and stands on correct cat-like feet with good arch to her toes. She looked fit for purpose and demonstrated this well showing good reach and drive as she was moved around the ring, excellent rapport with her handler. BOB.

2nd Ward Mrs P. Louabidora Show stopper at Frankish 2 yr old black spotted bitch. Became distracted in this class and was out moved by 1.

1st Hunt Mr A. & Oliver Miss T. Nowitna Cee Your a Classic at Kwangchow. 9-month-old shaded red bitch. Attractive bitch presented well and in excellent condition. Stands square on straight legs and round cat-like feet. Flat skull, correct ear set, clean dark eye, broad muzzle with correct scissor bite. Good rapport with her handler she moved well in all directions.

2nd Rhodes Mr C. & Reece Mr L. Wynchobe One and Only. 9-month-old black dog. Well build dog with good bone. Correct ear carriage, clean and dark eye He carried his head proudly on the stand, but he tended to drop it more on move. Good spring of rib, straight legs, tail carried well over back. Not as positive on the move as 1

Junior 3

1st Foy Miss A. Ramannires’s Villanelle 9-month-old Fawn bitch. She presented a pleasing outline on the stand and has a stunning coat. Good head carriage with correct ear set and dark eye giving her an appealing expression. Correct bite and mouth pigmentation. Well off for bone this girl has plenty of substance with a good spring of rib. She stood four square on round cat-like feet. She was very attentive to her handler and moved freely round the ring. A very happy showgirl.

1st Hunt Mr A. & Oliver Miss T. Songshijia Chief Kwangchow JW 2 yr old Red dog

Stood alone in his class today but a worthy winner. Masculine head with good reach of neck. Correct ear placement, dark eye, distinctive scowl expression, broad muzzle. Short coupled, well pigmented red coat in excellent condition correct angulation. In his prime with ring presence BOB

1st Hunt Mr A. & Oliver Miss T. Mosspark Blue Spangle VW 8yr old blue bitch. Nice balanced frame on the stand. Good head carriage, clean eye, broad muzzle. Nice body with good spring of rib, short coupled, correct tail set. Steady mover.

1st Harford Mrs A. and Mr M. Davies Miss C. Baarnayotms April Showers at Mennimoonz

21-month-old Silver sable bitch with black mask. Pretty, feminine bitch with good ear carriage and lovely dark eyes. Correct body/height ratio, well plumed tail carried over her back. Shown in super coat condition. On the move she was a little distracted by the floor at times and I felt her top line could be held straighter

Open 2

1st Davies Miss C. CH. Bowcara Be My Guest JW 6 yr old gold sable dog. My notes say, ‘a very happy showman in his prime’. He has a small yet masculine head, correct muzzle with good width and depth of chin, perfect straight teeth, good ear set, and dark eyes give him an intelligent and alert expression. He has well laid shoulders. Firm top line, correct tail set. Straight hocks and correct hare feet with feathering. He is well furnished with a stunning coat. He moved positively with purpose and had excellent rapport with his handler.

2nd Harford Mrs A. and Mr M. Davies Miss C. Tuyet Forever Bonnie at Mennimoonz 4 yr old Black with white bitch. Another very happy show girl. She is feminine throughout, domed head with defined stop, dark eyes, blunt muzzle that is well cushioned. Moderate in bone, firm topline, tail carried over her back, correct hare feet. Not quite as positive on the move as 1.
