Border Collie Club Of Great Britain

I would like to thank the committee for this invitation and the exhibitors for their entries.

This open show was held in conjunction with the Championship show and I would like to thank the exhibitors for their patience.

I would also like to make a special thank you to Derek and Isabelle Allsop who were my trusty stewards for the day. Isabelle especially demonstrated spectacular stewarding skills and this bodes well for the future.

I have a great passion for this breed having owned and lived with two who both stole my heart. I was surprised to find exhibits with very small teeth, some with missing teeth and some with level bites.

Typically a border collie drop their head on the move and this is difficult for the dog if they are being encouraged to hold their head up with the positioning of the lead. I would recommend that exhibitors attempt to show their dogs on a looser lead as this is likely to result in their dog moving in a more typical way.
