Siberian Husky

Overall, I was very pleased with the quality of the Siberian Huskies presented. The majority were strong, well-balanced dogs, reflecting the correct proportions and functional type of a working sled dog, with good muscle and no excess weight.Temperament was a particular strength, with most exhibits displaying the friendly, alert, and outgoing disposition described in the standard. The distinction between males and females was evident in most cases. Hindquarters were often commendable, with well-developed thighs, correct stifles, and well-set hocks, supporting sound and efficient movement. Most dogs moved freely and lightly, maintaining a firm topline. A pleasing variety of colours and markings was seen, and overall presentation reflected the breed’s purpose. Continued emphasis on balance, moderation, and functional movement will ensure the preservation of correct type.

P (3,1) 1 Bailey Goldwind Djastin Fantastic (imp KTZ) BP. an eleven-month-old male, well developed for his age and presented in excellent condition. He displayed a lovely, friendly disposition and conducted himself in the ring with maturity beyond his months. He moved correctly, being particularly pleasing both on the up and down and in profile, demonstrating the light, effortless gait required of the breed. His head was attractive, with a pleasing expression and correct fox-like appearance. His coat was thick and of correct texture. A very promising young dog, and a deserving winner of the Puppy class as well as Best Puppy in Breed.

2 Jackson Sakarladrift Frosty Paws for Azilvix An eleven-month-old female with a lovely head, showing a correct fox-like appearance and a pleasing, keen expression. She was quick and light on her feet, moving correctly and with the free, easy gait required of the breed. Balanced in outline and feminine in type, she presented well for her age. At this stage of development, she would benefit from carrying a little more substance in proportion to her height, which may be attributable to her adolescent stage. A promising young female.

SpY (8,3) 1 Samuals Winter melody Bit Too Dramatic at Hazylights (imp Pol) BOB. A lovely female with a beautiful, alert expression. She was extremely light on her feet, yet strong underfoot, moving with efficiency and drive appropriate to her function. Front and rear action were well coordinated, and she maintained a firm, level topline. Well constructed and balanced throughout, she presented correct proportions and overall harmony. Her expression was particularly appealing, with eyes and ears attentive to both handler and surroundings, enhancing her breed character. A very typical exhibit, combining soundness, balance, and correct movement, making her a deserving Best of Breed

2 Hooley Dokkalfar’s I am Groot Another lovely specimen of the breed. An 18-month-old male, well proportioned with balanced outlines, moving with an effortless, light and free gait. Although still maturing, he showed good muscle development and substance, with a well-developed skull and a correct neck. His overall construction was sound, and he presented a pleasing, typical outline. A promising young dog.

L (5,1) 1 Samuals Shimani Love For Life at Hazylights this well-balanced male impressed with his evenly muscled body and good spring of rib. He carried a correct neck, both standing and, on the move, and presented a pleasing, typical outline. Movement was a strength, showing good reach and drive, and maintaining balance throughout. His coat was well furred, of correct texture and density, and appropriate for the climate, completing the overall picture of a functional working dog. A sound and worthy class winner.
