Shetland Sheepdog

I was a replacement judge to the original scheduled judge and very much appreciated the good entry that still came forward for me. A warm supportive welcome from the society and exhibitors was appreciated.

Puppy D/B (6,2)

1st Wish Upon the Moon for Stanydale

11mth pretty black tri who caught my attention when she came into the ring. Her correct overall proportions were evident to the eye and did not disappoint hands on. Pleasing and sweet expression, correct skull to muzzle ratio with parallel head planes, correct almond shape eye and set, ears set high with top and mobile. Correct front angulation and demonstrated this on the move, complemented by easy driving rear. Will be interested to meet as she develops on. BP and RBOB in a good entry.

2nd Misti Moon Over Neraklee

11mth blue merle bitch - litter sister of my 1st place and who shares many attributes, but seemingly not as confident as 1st. A little shorter in back than my 1st, I preferred the overall balance and front angulation of 1st.

3rd Kishdigra An Irish Blessing for Clairavelle (IKC)

Sp Yearling D/B (4,0)

1st Wish Upon the Moon for Stanydale. Repeat

2nd Savendie Meleys

13mth black tri bitch with absolutely nothing to hide and decided to leave her coat at home. But her overall conformation and balance won her this place and the subsequent class. She is well made all through, her head was correctly proportioned with decent strength and to her muzzle and a good underjaw yet retaining all femininity. Well placed and shaped eye. Good width to her front she moved away and back straight and true. Easy mover in good hardy condition.

3rd Misti Moon Over Neraklee

Limit D/B (4,0)

1st Savendie Meleys. Repeat

2nd Shemist Fallen Angel

Pretty black tri 3yr old bitch. Very sweet expression on this bitch, parallel head planes, her ears were wide set but still to the top of her head, a lower tip/break to her ear gave visual impression of a lower set. Presenting a nice overall outline, her movement was easy, but she had a tendency to pace. On the go over, she is carrying a little weight over her shoulder so this could possibly be remedied.

3rd Felthorn Girl Friday at Gordchelly

Open Dog (2,0)

1st Stanydale Ocean Wave

Strongly marked 2yr blue merle male. Profuse coat that on the stand gave him the visual appearance of a shorter neck than what he actually has. His head was good to go over, well placed and shaped eye, slight but perceptible stop, ears well placed and with desired fold when at rest. Level topline his fore and aft angles complemented each other, and his movement was unhurried and easy.

2nd Shelridge Toastmaster at Chelmermead.

Distinguished blue merle gentleman of 7yrs who suited his name. The blackest of pigment against a white muzzle and ruff gave him a striking appearance. His head was well shaped, with high set and correctly tipped ears. Slightly steeper in his shoulder than 1st he was a little shorter in body length which gave him an overall more compact appearance than 1st. Movement was balanced.

Open Bitch (3,1) My notes say this was a class of decisions on fronts.

1st Felthorn Material Girl of Flyymeg

2yr blue merle bitch who won this class on her movement. She was smaller than the average but all in proportion. Sweet head with correct skull / muzzle proportions and attractive brown/blue eye. Her ears were a little larger than I might personally have liked for her overall size but were correctly set and folded. Moderate length of neck, level topline and balanced fore and aft angulation.

2nd Kyleburn Sibylla at Shelridge

7.5yr old sable bitch who I initially thought my winner. I really liked her head which was all in proportion and placement with correct set and size ear which were used to advantage. Sweet expression. I would prefer a little more length to her upper arm to enable her front angulation to complement her rear. On the move she was sound, but I preferred the movement of 1st.

Veteran D/B (6,1)

1st Neraklee Naomi at Stanydale

8yr black tri bitch who was attractive to my eye but even more pleasing to go over. My notes say, ‘really nicely made bitch’. Skull to muzzle proportions were equal and correct, ears placed on the top of her head, correct fold and in proportion to her size. Moderate length of neck onto correctly set, well laid shoulder, front angulation and a level topline with desired sloping croup and correctly set tail. Rib cage with desired spring. On the go over, her head and body proportions complemented each other, her coat was profuse and of correct texture. Well placed and shaped feet, her movement was unhurried and accurate. I did like her. Best of Breed.

2nd CH Lafitte de Moorstile Chez Shelridge (Imp Fra) JW

9.5 yr boy who was unlucky to meet 1st today. Attractive bold sable colour with a masculine head and best underjaw of the day for me. Lovely almond eye, ears well placed on top of his head and extremely attentive to his Dad which only aided his expression. He was well balanced fore and aft and with a level topline, his length came from his rib cage with only a short loin so was a very solid purposeful mover.
