Rough Collie

Junior D/B (2,0)

1st Ambartr Written in the Stars

Black tri feminine bitch of 14mths. Pleasing proportions in head, with an expressive medium dark eye. Ears set on top of skull with one third tipped. Neck of decent length and with arch flowing into correct topline for this breed with a slight rise over her loin. Moved well and freely once given her lead.

2nd Ambartr’s Dignity and Pride

Sable litter sister to 1st with same pleasing attributes to her head. She is a little longer in body and with a steeper croup than her sister so for me, on the day, she didn’t appear as balanced as 1st.

PG D/B (2,0)

1st Chantique Tickety Boo

2yr sable and white bitch. Very pretty with a sweet eye. Her head planes were parallel with the desired slight stop. Small in stature but all in proportion. Balanced in front and rear angulation and this showed on the move – her foot fall was excellent and moved as I wanted to see. She was rather shy on the day and very aware of her surroundings both in and out of the ring.

2nd Ambartr’s Dignity and Pride

Open D/B (3,1)

1st Mejola Top gun JW

Hardy 2yr sable and white male. Presented in good clean textured jacket that fitted his body this boy was good to go over. Head proportions were the desired 50/50 with slight stop wedge. Eye set obliquely, harmonious colour and watched his surroundings with the dignity I was wanting to see. Complimented by correctly tipped and well set expressive ear. Complementary in fore and aft angulation, he moved round the ring easily and measured, propelled from his rear with no apparent effort. BOB

2ND Ladnar Makeithappen for Nikal

2.5yr old blue merle male. A lively happy boy who was definitely giving his Mum something to work for! Very sweet expression with a lovely shape and colour of eye. Good ear set. Head planes not as parallel as 1st. Balanced in his fore and aft angulation on the stand. Tidy in front when moving toward but he chose to carry his tail high which threw the appearance of his movement especially on the go-around.

Border Collie

Puppy D/B (2,0)

1st Altricia Love Me Do

11mth bitch who had a good overall outline and appearance. Her head was good to go over, sufficiently broad skull for age, skull and muzzle of equal length separated by required prominent stop. Eye of good oveal shape and colour, ears set well apart and mobile. Decent length of neck, flowed into her shoulders onto a level topline and a gentle slope to her croup and well set tail, used on the move. She moved out well on uneven ground demonstrating her decent shoulder and forward reach. Well presented in good jacket. Liked her.

2nd Blackgold Age of Aquarius

7 mth brown and white male who I believe was at his first show and behaved admirably as a result. He was taller and rangier all through to 1st, fore and aft angles a little more upright than 1st. Wide set ears which were mobile and responsive in use. Lovely complimentary pigment to his nose, wide nostrils, eye rims which were of good shape and harmonising colour. Excitable on the move but did extremely well for his first time.

1st Altricia Dream to Love

11mth blue merle bitch litter sister to my puppy winner but definitely of a more traditional ‘type’. Skull muzzle proportions were 50/50 with a shade narrower in width. Oval shaped eye and well placed with good fill beneath. Her neck was of good length onto her shoulders and a poker straight topline when gone over. Good length of tail used to advantage on the move. A shade nervous of her surroundings I feel she could excel better on the move one settled. She was definitely holding something back and would be interested to see her another time.

PG D/B (2,1)

1st Littlethorn Mini Two

3yr old pretty bitch. Her head proportions were correct, nicely shaped oval eye which were very attentive to her junior handler. Decent length of neck with required arch. Decent shoulder placement. On the stand her topline was straight but on the move she tended to dip in front, would prefer a little more return of shoulder to complement her rear angulation. Moved out well with her handler

Open D/B (1,0)

1st Altricia Bobby’s Girl

2 1/2yr old blue merle bitch who presented a good overall outline to the eye. Slightly longer than tall she had a good length of neck, decent lay of shoulder, correct topline with length to her loin, gentle croup and a broad muscular rear with well set tail. Skull to muzzle of correct ratio with a good stop and slight taper to her muzzle. Would prefer a touch more underjaw if being picky.

She moved out well demonstrating her reach, although was enjoying her day too much and carried her head a little too proud for what I was looking for.

Shetland Sheepdog

Puppy D/B (6,2)

1st Kishdigra An Irish Blessing for Clairavelle (IKC)

8mth sable bitch who was all in proportion and balance for her age. Elegant head and carriage, ears small, set on top of head and semi erect. Level head planes divided by a slight stop. Muzzle had good fill under her eye and decent underjaw. Her neck was complementary length to her overall size, angulations were in balance, and her movement was easy and measured. Well presented and coat of good texture and substance for age. She was my easy winner in this class today, I really liked her.

2nd Sanscott Ruby Tuesday

8 ½ mth sable bitch. Sweet pretty expression, clean correct shaped eye, just preferred the topline skull and overall balance in head of 1st. Compact in neck and overall body, she was measured on the move and stood on the neatest of feet. Profuse coat of good texture.

3rd Sheltisha The One and Only

Junior D/B (3,2)

1st Saxonoak Rose of Cimarron

15mth blue merle bitch who stood alone but worthy of her class. Very sweet in eye and of correct shape her head was correctly proportioned but would appreciate a shade smaller ear. Elegant neck, level topline and held on the move, she was a little narrow in front coming toward but moved out and round well with her mum.

PG D/B ( 4,3)

1st Kyleburn Almost a Dream with Sanscott

4yr bitch who again stood alone but happy to award the class regardless. She was truly an education for my hands. Short and compact body in overall appearance, but hands on, her body was correctly proportioned and her angulations were balanced. Her tail was a little short which could throw the eye. Very sweet head and expression, lovely shaped eye, level planes and gave the desired wedge when viewed from above. Ears set on top of her head with required tip and very mobile. On the move she was a little loose in front but her side profile demonstrated she could cover the ground well.

Open (6,2)

1st Ch Sheltisha Royal Approval

3yr blue merle bitch who was marked to advantage in both head and body. Pretty expression, head was smooth and good to go over, slight stop as required but her whole being ‘flowed’ together with no blunt or awkward lines anywhere. Correctly shaped almond eye, accentuated by well marked brow. Ears were well placed, mobile and expressive. Good proportions all through, her movement toward and away was smooth and on the go round, easily propelled from her rear. Lovely to watch. BOB.

2nd Tachnamadra The way You Look

Black tri bitch who gave me a challenge. Her expression was beautifully sweet, and almost preferred to 1st, but her stop was a little more blunt so had to give way. Her ears were wide at base, set correctly and tipped. Neck of correct length and pleasing body proportions. I very much liked her movement when she moved at a pace comfortable to her.
