Thanks to all exhibitors for their entries and braving the weather to travel! Every day is a school day and I took some really valuable lessons away from the day so thanks to exhibitors and mentors for your support and feedback. Loved the experience.

Without exception, presentation of all exhibits were clean and presentable, all appeared to have correct dentition and bite. The ring was a little smaller than would have liked for a breed such as this.

Border Collie

Puppy (4,2)

1st Tobermoray Touch of Class. 10month male. Head was clean with a distinct stop between his 50/50 skull and foreface. Strong muzzle but not overdone. Kind oval eye and the blackest of noses. Ears set wide apart and very mobile. Altogether completing the expression I was looking for. Good length of neck with the desired broadening into shoulder. He had good width to his front, body of correction proportions. Gently sloping croup into well set tail. Moved out extremely well with minimum of effort. Good texture to coat. Really liked him. Young with more to come. BP. Couldn’t deny him BOB in the challenge and thrilled he made the cut in a large group.

2nd Etherial Diamond Lakes. 8 month male who was sadly spooked by the tannoy and never really settled into himself to show to his fortune either on the stand or move. Due to this, a little challenging to assess. Sweet eye, would prefer a touch more width to skull, but at only 8 months, has plenty of time to mature up yet.

Junior (4,1)

1st Tobermoray Touch of Class. Repeat.

2nd Locheil Written in the Stars. 15month male. Definitely more mature in appearance than 1st. Head already developed with a broad skull and had depth to his muzzle. Desired stop. Dark oval eye. No mistaking his sex. Good width into his shoulders, clean tidy front. Level topline, complementary for and aft angulation. Another who was a little unsettled on the move.

3rd Jaybob Child’s Play

Post Grad (6,3)

1st Amkamel Half Blood Prince JW. 2 ½ yr all male. Head when viewed from side of correct proportions, distinct stop. Would prefer a touch more width to skull. Ears well used, watchful dark eye. Shorter in neck than previous classes, complementary front and rear angulation, he moved smoothly and with minimum effort.

2nd Locheil Written in the Stars

3rd Littlethorn Mini Two

Limit (3,2)

1st Calareto All My Loving JW. 3yr bitch with a beautiful sweet expression. Head of correct proportions, knowing almond shape dark eye, mobile ears and alert. Correct length of neck, fore quarters parallel from front with appropriate width. Tightest feet of the day. Length to back with level topline. Movement was easy and steady.

Open (3,2)

1st Borderbrook Fire and Flame. 5yr male. Presenting a good overall outline, his head was pleasing to go over, of desired length and width with very distinct stop. Ears set wide. Oval eye. His neck was of good length, slight arch and broadened nicely into his well set shoulder. Of good width. Legs parallel from the front, decent bone. Level topline, gently sloping croup and tail just reaching to hock. Moved away with ease, parallel from the rear. Could go all day.
