Beagle

Puppy (4,0)

1. Whitton’s Alibor Genesis of Haggatty. Very smart tri bitch of correct balanced proportions. Her last show in puppy being just shy of 12 months and showing some great potential. Good bone & substance without being coarse. Good head and eye, nice length of neck into nicely laid-back shoulders. Lovely flowing lines, great topline on the stack and on the move. Good hind angulation and well-muscled for a youngster. Used her correct angles to move with grace and flow, good drive from behind and correct and straight in front. BP, BOB & delighted to see her go HG 2 & HPG 1.

2. Borg’s Alibor Knockout. Litter brother to winner and has many of the same attributes including clean positive movement both fore and aft. On the day just preferred the sister on the move. I am sure these two have changed places during their puppy career.

Junior (2,0)

1. Rushforth’s Charterwood Icon of Campionfield. Another tri puppy, 12 months on the day. Good sound conformation, correct head, and eye. Good bone and sound standing & moving - very balanced at all times. Another that moved with some style holding a great outline & tail carriage at all times.

2. McBain & Stevens Maplelayne Serendipitous. Unfortunately, rather playing up on the day. Good quality head and correct front, lost to winner on drive behind and reach in front.

Limit (3,0)

1. Whitton’s Haggatty Calisto JW. 2-year-old bitch who impressed me on size and balanced outline. Good substance and lovely tight feet lovely topline at all times and correct tail carriage. Correct shoulder placement and excellent ribbing, length, and spring, moved with positivity nice and straight up and back. Just preferred the puppy on movement and outline on the day. RBOB

2. Giles-Wyatt’s Clarismore Crown Prince JW. 18mth male who looked very smart on the move and held a good outline. Good out and back - would have liked a little more length of ribbing and lay of shoulder.

Open (3,0)

1. Whitton & Edge’s Jalhar The wonder of You at Haggatty. A very honest and sound male of 6 years. Good overall conformation and balance. Great bone and feet – lovely topline, nicely angulated shoulders and hindquarters. On the day I just preferred the style and showmanship of the puppy and his daughter who was reserve best of breed. Nice type

2. McBain & Stevens Redcap Bella Sorella JW ShCM VW A lovely 12-year-old bitch retaining a great outline and shape. Her movement was sound, and I liked her size – I am sure this partnership have had a lot of fun over the years with her titles gained. Nicely handled.

Whippet

Puppy (3,1)

1. Hawdon’s Crosscop Fascination – A 9 month - very pretty brindle/white of elegance and style. A lovely sized female puppy of great conformation and stylish type. Great shoulder placement and nice straight front, lovely tight feet. A beautiful flowing topline and underline which she carried through on the move. A real eye catcher and one that really caught my attention BPIB & delighted to see her go HPG4.

2. Lahood’s Whippiness Eyes Down – Blue /white 8-month male of a good size and overall shape. Holding a nice outline, with a good depth of keel. When settled used his hindquarters with purpose – just needs to build more ring confidence.

Junior (4,2)

1. Sawer’s Boughton Berberis - 14-month fawn/white male with great style. Big enough for me but all in proportion and balanced. Lovely head and eye, great reach of neck and lovely depth of brisket. Excellent ribbing and short loin. Nice low hocks. He came into his own on the move showing a great action and true movement fore and aft. BOB.

2. Wilson’s Boughton Busy Lizzie for Hamiltonhill. Litter sister to winner and of a very similar sound conformation. Pretty head, correct shoulders, and good outline held at all times. Good front and rear angles. On the day not quite the true movement of her brother.

Limit (5,1)

1. Gauron’s Kensesqui Basil. Black male of 2.5 years. I liked his size and his balance in this class. Not overdone in any way. Moved soundly and held a good outline on the stack and on the move. On the day outmoved the second placed exhibit/

2. Earnshaw’s Palmik I Know What I Like at Moonshadow JW. Another stylish brindle male of just over 2 years. Super outline equalling that of the winner looking great in profile in motion but on the day, he was not moving as true behind as the winner.

Open (7,4)

1. Edwards Silkridge Yoko Ohno. Very elegant brindle/white female of 5.5 years. Loved her shape and outline. Very feminine with a lovely balanced shape great topline and underline – lovely flowing hound lines. A close call for BOB but she just lost out on the day on movement to the dog. A lovely RBOB.

2. Wells Selinko Stargazer – 2-year male of a bigger rangier type standing four square and very balanced. Held a correct outline stacked and, on the move, but on the day could have been a little more positive in hind movement.

Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit)

Junior (2,0)

1. Osbourne’s Beaujons Wayne Sleep with Braego. 18-month male of lovely type. Super outline on the stack and on the move. Lovely head and neck into correctly angled shoulders. Correct front and tight elbows and feet. Has true style on the move with head held naturally up and with real drive and reach. Loved him as a puppy and my opinion has not changed. Delighted to award BOB & pleased to see him win HG4

2. Woods Beaujons Anton Du Beke. A lovely litter brother to my winner /BOB. All my previous comments on construction on his brother apply to this male. I just liked the style of the winner on the day. Was tempted to call him back in for RBOB – another lovely exhibit from this breeder.
