London & Provincial Collie Club

Smooth Collies

A lovely entry both numerically and in quality. Such a lovely friendly well-run show, thanks to the Committee and to my hard-working stewards. Lovely big rings and the weather was kind.

Baby P (2) 1, Coldelee Busy Bein Fabulous (Mrs D L Jerrett), 5 months sable, nicely balanced with a good front and feet, dark eye, alert expression, good head planes, quite firm in topline, clean limbs with plenty of growth to come, for such a baby moved very nicely, composed and steady; 2, Koczkodan In My Heart (Mrs Kj & Mr Rd Russell), 4 months shaded sable with a very pleasing head and expression, good front and clean bone, tight feet, nicely balanced angles. A bit bum high at present and not as composed as 1 on the move or stacked, but a promising baby nonetheless.

PD (2) 1, Manordeifi Hijacked by Blamorder (Miss A Lusty), sable with a masculine head with good planes and pleasing expression, ample substance with a very good front and feet, balanced angulation and clean free movment. BPD; 2, Blamorder Starman (Mr D & Mrs T & Miss Ag Holmes & Holmes & Lusty), slightly more refined head on this sable with alert expression, he has a well-laid shoulder and return of upper arm, his good conformation suggest he should move well but he was a little overexcited by the whole business and just not quite as forward as 1.

PB (1) 1, Blamorder Starstruck (Mr M & Mrs R Wensley), a most attractive 7 months sable, lovely head and expression with dark eye and well set ears, very good front and feet, well laid shoulder, good overall proportions with a strong rear which she used to good effect on the move, plenty of drive and covering good ground in profile, very nice. BPIB and later BPIS.

J D/B (3) 1, Blamorder Double or Quits of Oakestelle JW (Miss M K & Ms E Benton & Bemelmans), a young blue merle of lovely type and quality. Well marked and a clear silver blue, she has a really pleasing head and expression with dark eye and well set ears which she was happy to show off. very feminine but with enough substance, well balanced angulation and good height/length balance, moved really truly all round and covered the ground well; 2, Blamorder I Dreamed A Dream at Wystry (Mr G & Mrs M Davies-Brown), tri also of high quality, good overall balance and type, nice head and expression, good front and feet, stepped out well in profile and clean out and back. 3, Blamorder Unlucky for Some (Ms L Watkins)

PG D/B (3, 1) 1, Blamorder I Dreamed A Dream at Wystry; 2, Blamorder Side Hustle with Mournebrake (Miss H L & Ms A Thomas & Lusty), 15 months tri male, very nice head, good neck and shoulder, tight feet but a bit soft in pastern which affected his front movement, good strong rear, moved well enough behind and in profile.

Ch D/B (2) 1, Ch Brackenhaye Queen of Hearts of Oakestelle (Miss M K Benton), tri bitch I have judged and liked before; now fully mature and fills the eye with her overall type and balance. Super head with correct planes, dark eye and good earset, very correct all through with no exaggerations, excellent forehand and plenty of heart room, moved as if she could do the job she was bred for, a proper Collie. BB, BOB and later RBIS; 2, Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive JW (Mr M & Mrs R Wensley), an elegant 4 y/o tri, scopy type with an attractive head and outlook, not overdone in any way and with good general conformation, moved very nicely all round, RBD.

LD (2) 1, Coldelee Jupiter Rises with Blamorder JW (Miss K & Miss A Warren & Lusty), well balanced tri, OK head, excellent overall conformation and balance, decent front, good feet, held topline well on the move, sound honest type; 2, Blamorder Mischief Maker with Jerdoni (Miss C Rodgers), sable, preferred head to 1, flat skull and alert expression; good length of neck, tight feet well ribbed up and of good depth. Just breaking in pastern coming at me and he has a bit more angulation behind than in front.

LB (2) 1, Shulune Imperial Rum Punch JW (Mrs D A & Miss J M Cole & Fort), substantial tri junior with an attractive head, good length and strength of neck into a well laid shoulder, deep chest and well ribbed up, matching hind angulation; carries quite a lot of condition and a bit steep in croup; 2, Blamorder High Brow with Jerdoni (Miss C Rodgers), young tri of a more elegant stamp with more leg, nice enough head, good height/length balance, still a bit narrow in front and feet not her fortune, moved quite well though rather fond of her tail.

OD (1) 1, Blamorder Magic Maker with Freejack JW (Mrs E & Mr L Seager) handsome upstanding 2 y/o rich sable, pleasing head and outlook with alert expression, masculine without coarseness, good feet and pasterns; good angles both ends and used himself well on the move, looked really good in profile and nice and clean coming and going. BD and BOS, just looked a touch unfinished next to the bitch, should have a big future.

OB (4) 1, Ch Blamorder Makers Mark JW (Mr D & Mrs T & Miss Ag Holmes & Holmes & Lusty), rich sable of excellent type, lovely head and expression with flat skull and dark eye, well balanced with good length/height ratio, good forehand and well turned stifle, moved very nicely with clean free strides. RBB; 2, Ch Oakestelle Venus De Milo VW ShCEx (Miss M K Benton), another I have done well in the past and she is in amazing shape for her 12 years, never stops showing and has a pretty, refined feminine head, nice clear blue and well marked; really scored on the move with her ground-eating effortless movement, a real pleasure to watch and a credit to her owner/handler. BVIB and later BVIS 3, Coldelee Eternal Sunshine JW (Mrs D L Jerrett).

V D/B (2) Two super veterans in a breed that can and should be winning well into the senior years. 1, Ch Oakestelle Artemis ShCEx VW (Miss M K Benton), 8y/o merle, very feminine with pretty head and expression, nice silvery blue, excellent front and feet, well balanced angles and she used herself very well on the move, just had to give way to her lovely mother today; 2, Koczkodan Serenity VW (Ms E Cowling), 9 y/o tri, very nice head and expression, pleasing outline with excellent forehand construction and good turn of stifle, in first class order, moved very well behind and in profile, just lifting a touch in front today.
