Thank you to the club for inviting me to judge at this extremely well organised show and to all exhibitors for their entries.

Whippet Puppy (7,3)

A nice class to start the day with

1st Spademan Mycroft Morris and Waddell’s CROSSCOP SEDUCTION . An extremely attractive 7 month old fawn cream bitch of super type . attractive head piece long and lean with good width to the skull, eyes of the correct shape showing alertness , correct mouth with good strength of underjaw , strong neck flowing into well laid shoulders , good bone and nice feet . she presented a lovely shape with a gentle curve which she held as she moved positively at one with her handler . A bright future ahead im sure RBOB BPIB and PG1

2nd Newtons NEVEDITH HI JINKS . Another attractive and curvaceous female of excellent breed type , correct head with nice ear set and correct eye shape , good mouth , dark nose . She has a nice layback of shoulder , deep in chest with an evident curve to the loin , she moved soundly . I was splitting hairs with these two I just felt two was marginally better in rear quarters nevertheless a lovely puppy .

Whippet Junior (5,3)

1st Thomas BALLAUREN DANCE TONIGHT 13 month old brindle , he has a head of good breed type , his shoulder placement is ok , nice bladed bone and well arched feet, moved at one with handler

2nd Coles KENLEAP SILVER BANYAN Brindle and white parti who doesn’t want to grow anymore , I would like to see less length of leg to give him a more balanced appearance . Presented in good condition .

Whippet Post Graduate (3,1)

1st Lockhart-Smiths WHIPAWAY STAR OF SPRING , an attractive 3 year old fawn of nice type , she is a lovely size and nothing exaggerated , she has a pretty head of good proportions, lovely expression , nice length of neck leading into well laid shoulder , good depth of chest and a gentle curve over the loin , strong hindquarters and good hocks , she moved well with her handler just tended to level out a bit on the move .

2nd Hopes DEMERLAY ON A PROMISE . fawn male with an attractive head , flat skull with good length to the muzzle , good width between his well shaped eyes . he has a decent front on him , good bone and nice feet . I felt he was a little hunched today on the stack .

1st Martins BOWDONIA GO THE DISTANCE FOR STALWART . 5 year old brindle male , attractive head piece , strong in neck , well laid shoulders , flat muscles , bladed bone and nice shaped feet , good depth in chest , strong topline , strong rear quarters and good tailset . He was sound on the out and back but a little erratic in profile which cost him RBOB today .

2nd Hopes DEMERLAY CHARMING CHARLIE . 6 year old fawn male with a decent front , typical head , I would have liked him a shade longer in body which would help him extend on the move .

Whippet Open Bitch (5,2)

A lovely class

1st Spademan, Mycroft ,Morris & Waddells CROSSCOP CALIFORNIA BARBIE FROM SUPETA JW . An attractive cream bitch who I have admired from the ringside before and for me she screams whippet . Beautiful head , broad across the skull tapering to her black nose with a slight stop , good width between her well shaped eyes, correct ear set , strong neck leading into beautiful forehand assembly with correct length of upper arm , chest of good depth , with a good spring of rib , topline strong and a gentle curve over the loin , well muscled rear quarters and well angulated front and rear without being overdone . With her correct balance it was no surprise to watch her float round the ring showing reach in front and strength from behind , she is completely at one with her handler which just completes the picture . BOB an shortlisted in a lovely group .

1st Druce Druce and Aitchisons KASKAE OOH LA LA AVEC DRUXIE . 10 month old bitch with a super outgoing temperament , broad head showing no signs of coarsness , dark eye, ears of correct shape and ear set , strong mouth with correct bite , slightly sloping shoulder with good bone , she was well of for body and showed power on the move with great reach and drive . BOB BPIB

 1st Browns RUMBA VASILYEV OSTROV FOR CUPLIN (IMP UKR) 2 Year old female of nice breed type , attractive head with a nice expression , ears well placed although she was a bit lazy with them today , well off for bone , good balance throughout and correct tail carriage . Moved soundly RBOB

2nd Druce’s KASKAE HELL OF A VIEW AT DRUXIE , Male of good size and type , broad head but not coarse , good strength in muzzle , shoulder placement ok . Not quite as sound on the move as my winner .

1st Ansell & Mckenzies GISABOSIE SKYBLU EGILSAY , a substantial male all round , head well balanced with good muzzle to skull proportions , eyes giving a kind expression , ears well set , good mouth , well laid shoulders with close fitting elbows , good depth and well ribbed . moved soundly , BOB

2nd Jacksons LUNAHAI LIKE A HURRICANE FOR REVERAKI . male of a smaller frame and not quite as well off for bone , feet a little flat . head of nice breed type and correct proportions , well angled front and rear . Moved soundly RBOB

2nd Harwoods LENDEVERS SPRING TIDE . a male of good size and substance , his head could be better balanced , good eye shape , correct ear set . he was presented in good condition .

1st Leechs MILEOAK DEE DAY DARLING 10 Month old landseer who shows promise . well marked and of good size and substance, well balanced throughout . her head is large and broad but not overdone , nice healthy eye , good mouth , good bone and good depth of chest . Coat of good condition . Moved well BPIB

2nd Moore & James STARNEWF MR DARK SKY , 8 month old male with a beautiful head and expression , good front and nice feet . well balanced . he seems to be dropping a bit of coat at the moment . Moved ok

1st Watsons NEWFANGLED YES YOU DID AT CACODOM 16 month old black bitch of nice type , broad unexaggerated head with good proportions , good eye , correct shoulder into well filled front , well angled , strong topline which she held on the move , well presented

2nd Leech MILEOAK UTAH BEACH , litter brother to my puppy winner . He too is a promising puppy , very well made , nice head and expression , good angles and super coat . He was just a little loose on the move today as to be expected from a baby.

2nd Crosiers NURBURGNEWF CATYMAN shcex . 6 year old black male of good size . he has an attractive headpiece with a correct shaped eye and good mouth , he was ok in front but would like a bit more fill in chest and a bit more strength in neck . He moved out soundly

1st McGills WINTERCLOUD RIOJA , a confident puppy of 7 months , head of good proportions , wide black nose , good mouth , dark eye , strong neck , presenting a balanced outline , well muscled throughout , moved well for one so young RBOB BPIB

1st Williams Newton and Slacks RARJO MACDUFF MAKING WAVES WITH MEGLUCIE JW , Quality bitch with an excellent head , good proportions , eye of correct shape , strong jaw and good mouth . strong muscled neck leading into a good topline , well sprung ribs , strong muscled quarters which she used on the move carrying her tail correctly BOB

Puppy (4,2)

1st Denvers JAVLADARE MR BOOMBASTIC attractive 7 month old male of very nice type . solid made with good bone and substance with plenty to grow into . head of good length and broad in skull , clean without any excess wrinkle , correct shaped eye , good mouth , strong neck , good shoulder . He moved out soundly enough for a baby . Once him and his handler come together as one they will have some fun .

2nd Clarks BOTLIERSKOP BE GOOD TO ME . a different type to my winner being much finer throughout , head of good proportions , ok in front , strong topline . Moved ok

Junior (4) – 2 nice males headed this class

1st Dunhill -Hall and Clitheros’s FANTASA LUCKY LUCIANO - 16 month old who screams breed type , her has a super head and expression broad skull , well muscled cheeks , deep muzzle , strong jaw and correct detention , well set ears and correct eye giving a good expression , strong powerful neck leading into a super front assembly , strong legs leading into a slightly sloping pastern and good feet , good depth to his body with well sprung ribs , back of good length and a strong firm topline , good length and width of thighs and strong hocks . He was in super rock hard condition and when asked to move he did so with a positive reach and drive suit a super gait in profile working as one with his talented handler . I loved him and would quite happily have taken him home BOB

2nd Monk and jones WESTFALEN OLERIA TEAM SPIRIT . Another quality exhibit who I have no doubt will make up . He too is a strong substantial male with a beautiful head . well balanced throughout , not quite the hard condition of the class winner but very little between them .

1st Caves CHANTAVORY LOVE IN THE AIR 2 year old with a head showing breed type , nice eye shape and well set ears , would like a better shoulder which would give more front extension on the move , nice strong topline and strong rear .

1st Monks OLERIA QUEEN OF HEARTS a quality bitch who was very clean and free of any exaggerations , another well balanced quality head , eyes giving a good expression , good mouth , well defined stop and good length of muzzle , good shoulder placement and front and rear angles , she moved soundly but had to give way to the junior dog who just gave that bit more on the go round for BOB , RBOB

2nd Bowers ROJANEVA STOP N’STARE 7 year old male in super condition for a veteran , he has a head of nice type , strong in body and well angled . He moved at one with his handler

1st Booths CHANDLIMORE REACH OUT BEAUSAINTS 10 month old bitch of evident quality , she is a lovely type , large in skull with flat cheeks , well filled under the eye , good depth of muzzle , nice eye shape with a prominent brow , good mouth , well made throughout , strong broad back . she just needs to body up and settle to the game and she will have a bright future RBOB BPIB

Balls BEAUSAINTS DARK N STORMY . He is of great size and substance presenting a lovely type , his head is large and broad but I would like to see it a bit cleaner , he is well angled in front and has a strong back end . True coming but could improve going away

1st Booths CHANDLIMORE STAR STRUCK WITH BEAUSAINTS , a beautiful unexaggerated girl of super breed type , her head is strong but feminine showing no signs of being coarse, good width to her muzzle and a deep stop , plenty of fill below the eye , she has a lovely shoulder good depth , stands on good strong bone and has lovely feet . She moves out so soundly . I predict a bright future and I shall follow her career with interest BOB
