Merioneth Agricultural Society

Breed: Pastoral Group
Merioneth Agricultural Society 20/8/25

Many thanks to the committee of this well run show for inviting me to judge the Pastoral breeds and group. Also a big thank you to my ring steward Andy for keeping the ring running smoothly throughout the day.

Smooth Collie. J (1/1) Blamorder Side Hustle With Mournebrake, a tricoloured boy that I've judged before and done well for. I was pleased to see that he's maturing along the right lines and fulfilling his earlier potential. Masculine well developed head without any hint of coarseness, super proportions with good bone and substance, correct balanced angulation and moves with reach and drive. A dog destined for the top I believe, I was pleased to award him BOB and Group 3. PG (2/1) Blamorder High Brow With Jerdoni, mature tricolour bitch who is feminine throughout, excellent head proportions with dark eye and correctly set mobile ears. Balanced angulation front and rear, kept a level top topline on the move, but tended to raise her tail which detracted from the overall picture. O (2/1) Blamorder Mischief Maker With Jerdoni, a mature sable boy of nice type with a handsome, masculine head, correct angulation front and rear and good movement. I would prefer a little more bone for perfection. RBOB

Rough Collie. O (3/2) Beldones Mojito is a well marked sable and white dog of correct proportions, he has a masculine head that handles well, super lay back of shoulder, balanced rear angulation and he moved with reach and drive. Beautifully presented and handled to advantage. BOB

Shetland Sheepdog. P (2/1) Suthesley Petunia 10 month old tricolour bitch, sweet feminine head with pleasing eye and expression, good outline, she held her shape on the move and moved with purpose. Shown in lovely coat and condition, a good prospect for the future. BP & PGRP 4. G (4/2) 1. Balidorn Nutmeg, she won this class on her movement which was precise, ground covering and workman like. She has a correct feminine head, excellent front and rear angulation and a quality coat. 2. Balidorn Olympic Star With Solyric, who unfortunately was very unsettled here today. A handsome boy who moved well when settled. O (4/2) 1. Shelcrest Winter Solstice At Suthesley JW, a very eye catching male with the best of heads, round muzzle, flat top skull, dark eye and correct mobile ears. Loved his over all proportions, bone and substance. Moved soundly in all directions. BOB. 2 Balidorn Olympic Star With Solyric.

Australian Shepherd. P (1/0) Rosschell Made Of Frost blue merle male of good proportions. Masculine head that has time to develop, balanced angulation, level topline, a surprisingly well developed depth of chest and ribs for his age. Moved soundly in all directions once he got into his stride. Definitely one to watch. BP & PGRP 2. O (4/2) 1. CH Magical Love Elvikam JW OSW VW (IMP POL) A veteran girl who is a really good example of the breed, I loved her outline, her over all balance, substance and breed type. She is feminine whilst remaining workman like and her movement is free, smooth and effortless. BOB & GRP 4. 2 Under The Polar Star Du Reve Austral Dreamtale (IMP FRA) another super example of the breed who didn't put a foot wrong on the move. Well made with correct feminine head, I just preferred the overall balance of my winner today.

German Shepherd. P (2/1) Dillon Aus Silkenwood, my goodness what an impressive young male he is, he absolutely demands to be looked at. 10 months old with the most beautiful clean cut head that is balanced and well developed for his age. Strong neck into well laid shoulders, correct height to length, firm backline into gently sloping croup and correctly set and carried tail. Good coming and going and moved freely round the ring. BPIB I had no hesitation in awarding him the Pastoral Puppy Group and was thrilled to hear he later won Res Puppy in Show. G (4/0) 1. Droyales Present Verdandi. An alert I8 months old who is maturing along the right lines, masculine head with broad top skull and correct ears, strong neck into good shoulders with excellent return of upper arm, straight back, well ribbed and enough depth of chest, well developed rear quarters and strong hocks. Where this dog really excels is his movement which is sound, ground covering and effortless. RBOB 2. Swnynant Isadora, another super example of the breed, feminine but with good strength and very alert. She is well balanced throughout and moves soundly in all directions. 3. Reyakosa Diablo. O. (3/0) Swnynant Guiliana, I love the proportions of this girl, she's just so well balanced and easy on the eye, every part of her flows seamlessly into the next. Feminine head of correct proprtions, good reach of neck, correct forehand angulation with good return of upper arm, strong backline and balanced rear. Shown to advantage, she is a powerhouse on the move and sound as a bell. I was pleased to award her BOB and later GRP1. 2. Windgunn’s Phoenix, a well made youngster and lots to like. Good angulation fore and aft, she has a good topline that is held on the move and the correct amount of bone and substance for her make and shape. Handled to advantage, she can really cover the ground. She lacked the maturity of my winner, but I'd be interested to see her as a finished adult. 3. Reyakosa Brando VW.

Bearded Collie. O (2/1) Breaksea Timeless, a bitch of very nice type with a well proportioned feminine head, she has a beautiful dark eye and good pigmentation. Well made with correct angulation and level topline which was held on the move. Correct coat and shown in super condition. BOB.

Correct angulation, well ribbed and deep chest. Moved with drive and purpose. BOB. 2. Rosnorske Royal Azalea, litter sister to my winner and many of the same comments apply. She has an excellent head, good bone and neat feet, I just preferred the movement of my winner today. O (3/0) 1. Rosnorske Royal Kylo. 2. Jewel Child Of Joy Orleansnow (IMP CZE) mature bitch of nice proportions, feminine head and shown in good condition. Good side gait but a little untidy coming and going. RBOB 3. Rosnorske Royal Azalea.

Welsh Corgi (Pembroke) P (1/0) 1. Do You Know Who I Am, at 7 months old this little girl really impressed me. She has a super foxy head with well placed ears and brown eyes that are full of mischief. Well made, I though she carried herself really well for a baby. BP RBOB & Puppy Grp 3. G (2/0) 1. Hey You Beautiful, dam to my winning puppy. Nothing flashy about this girl, but she is feminine, well made and moves with drive and purpose. 2. Manonfach Rune Of Dracos, a very handsome young dog with a super head shape and expression. Good proportions, well muscled and moved soundly. O (2/0) 1. Zlata Iz Byrshtunovogo Kraju At Manonfach (IMP UKR) this bitch is so full of breed type, she has the best of heads, good length of neck into well laid shoulders a strong topline, a correctly set tail and powerful rear quarters. Where this girl really excels is in her movement which is sound and ground covering. BOB. 2. Reach For The Stars, a mature tricoloured boy of good type.
