Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge this well-run and friendly show and thank you to the exhibitors for kindly bringing their dogs, and thanks to my two lovely stewards on the day who were very efficient. I had a lovely day.
Irish setters
Minor Puppy 2 (1)
1. Shepherd’s Casachared Mr Delaneys Son Up to size young man for his tender age, with excellent body and bone. Balanced head with parallel head planes and expressive dark eye, leading into moderate, muscular neck with classic crest. Balanced and well-made fore and aft, just a little loose at the elbow, but he is only young and this is all to develop. Moderate bend of stifle as you would expect at this age with excellent width to his quarters. Sound movement all ways, just a little happy with his tail today in the small indoor ring. Just needs a little more schooling to get the best out of him as he was spoiling his topline at times.

1. Hopewell and Greenan’s Riverwood X Written In The Stars (IMP BEL) Ultra feminine and pretty head with dark eye and melting expression on this young bitch. Good reach of neck into dramatic front construction with ample forechest. Firm topline and well-ribbed back. Lovely bend of stifle and rear quarters. Just needs time to develop and come up on the leg to give her a more balanced outline. Lush dark coat. BPIB. Congratulations on PG2.
2. Shepherd’s Casachared Mr Delaneys Son Repeat of MP.
Junior 4 (1)
1. Berry and Morris’ Riverbrue Mystique Avec Brinara Feminine head with good work and chiselling already for her age, complete with a dark eye and low-set ears. Well-made, straight front with correct gently sloping topline and firm loin, finished well over the coup into a well-set tail. I would prefer a more moderate bend of stifle, particularly for her age, none the less she has great width to her quarters and used them well to move around the ring. Finished with a lovely coat. Most balanced in outline and best mover in this class and on the day. BOB.
2. Kassube and French’s Cararua Spring Pearl Feminine young bitch who needs to work on her confidence to excel in the ring. Dark eye and chiselling through foreface, with a balanced head in profile. Decent front and rear construction with good length of leg and firm topline. Needs to body up all through at the moment. Moved well, although hard to assess due to her lack of confidence, she needs time and patience.
3. Evers-Swindell’s Talharon Too Tempting

1. Kassube and French’s Cararua Spring Pearl Repeat of Junior.
2. Evers-Swindell’s Talharon Touch The Moon Pretty bitch with dark eye and good stop. Again, another one who needs to body up with some extra weight, strengthen in bone and improve in confidence which, unfortunately, made it quite difficult to assess and comment on her movement today. Lovely type of bitch with firm topline, gently sloping, although slightly rounded over the croup. Moderate front construction but slightly over-exaggerated at the rear.

1. McDonald’s Quensha Galway Girl Very happy bitch with dark eye, lovely stop and correct finish to her muzzle. Muscular neck leading into well-laid back shoulders with excellent return of upper arm and correct forechest. Well-ribbed back and good length to loin but carrying slightly too much weight today, spoiling her topline which cost her in the challenge. Lovely width to her quarters and sweep of stifle, complete with good tail action on the move.
2. Coreless’ Swiftlark Invincible JW Super balanced head piece with excellent parallel head planes, stop and finish to muzzle, complete with dark eye, although a touch rounded. Lovely reach of neck with slight, classic crest, leading into a very well-made front construction. Firm topline and ample spring of rib. Being critical I would prefer a better bend of stifle and length to second thigh. Moved well with nice reach at the front, holding his topline. Lovely coat.
3. Dale’s Casachared Constance Tally Of Aubanjon

1. Coreless’ Swiftlark Spellbinder Again, a super balanced head piece from this exhibitor and breeder, although a tad strong for my preference. Very impressive male in stack, with great balance and presence in the ring. Stands on fabulous bone and tight feet. Muscular neck leads into well-laid back shoulders and excellent return of upper arm, although a touch lacking in forechest. Strong topline, ample ribbing, well-finished across the croup into a well-set tail. Lovely width to quarters with correct bend of stifle, short and strong from hock to heel. Moved well, just a little lacking in drive which cost him in the challenge for BOB so had to settle for RBOB.
2. Dale’s Trefaine Aurora Of Aubanjon Different type to the winner, and bigger build all through. Balanced head piece with dark eye, good stop and finish to muzzle, although a tad strong for my liking and a touch throaty. Lovely reach of neck into well-made front with good bone and standing on tight feet. Excellent ribbing and firm loin, just slightly steep over the croup. Lovely sweep of stifle and well-muscled thighs. Lovey lashing tail action of the move.

1. Hart’s Gilligrae So Berry Excited Mature youngster who has lovely bone and stands on neat feet. Lovely headpiece with well-domed skull. Muscular neck leading into good, laid-back shoulders and excellent upper arm, just slightly loose at the elbow at the moment. Well ribbed back with firm, level topline, and well-rounded coup, although a tad short in loin for ideal. Excellent width and muscling to thighs with good sweep of stifle, and short from hock to heel. Lush, pearly white base to his coat with featherings coming along nicely. Moved well with good driving action from the rear, just needs to tighten at the front. BOB.

1. Jakins SH CH/INT SH CH/MULTI CH Terne Des Coris Qalimero At Cooflin (IMP BEL) JW WW’23 Gorgeous headpiece, with great work and width to domed skull, so very handsome. Lovely muscular neck with slight arch. Well-made fore and aft with good balanced outline, correct level topline with nice, rounded croup and well-set tail. Now in his veteran years, just lacking a little condition today as I feel he needs a little more weight and was moving very close behind today, also flying his tail, in the small indoor ring. RBOB.

1. Sweryda’s Waseley Hazy Dayz Feminine young bitch who enjoyed her day out in the ring, which is what you want at this age. Good headpiece with plenty of brain room and good depth to muzzle. Neck flows cleanly into laid-back shoulders, lovely upper arm, although needs a little more fill in the front at present. Firm, level topline, well-ribbed back with moderate bend of stifle for her young age, short and strong from hock to heel. Lovely tail carriage and sound on the move.

1. Halliday’s Hero Majestic Manon Lescaut Yennado (IMP CZE) 21-month-old dog with excellent body and bone, could do with carrying slightly more weight over the ribs and loin. Balanced head piece with handsome expression and dark eye, correct stop and fairly deep muzzle with correct length. Muscular neck leading into a well-made front with elbows well-let down and standing on decent feet, although needs to strengthen in pasterns. Level topline and correct slope to croup. Good sweep of stifle with well-muscled thighs. Coat coming along nicely. Very true on the move with lovely rear extension. BOB.
Open 2 (1)
1. Halliday’s CH Yennadon Barra JW SGWC Striking male in profile who at 6 years old is in his prime. Excellent bone all through and standing on tight, well-arched feet. Super balanced head piece with dark expressive eyes. Muscular, arched neck leading into super shoulders and excellent upper arm. Plenty of fill in front with deep chest and well-ribbed back. Level topline and slight arch to croup, sweeping stifles with excellent width to quarters. In excellent coat and condition and moved so well in his class, unfortunately the change of handler cost him BOB and he had to give way to his kennel mate! RBOB.
