North Eastern Whippet Society Open Show

2nd November 2025

Judge: Miss L Tarabad (Khatibi)

Many thanks to the society for their kind invitation to judge their friendly open show and the exhibitors for a lovely entry. My super stewards kept things running efficiently and the kitchen team’s catering was fabulous!

Baby Puppy Dog (2,1)

1. Citycroft Not My First Rodeo at Runforest (Miss M Dillon) 5months old and already totally at home in the ring and taking it all in his stride. Handsome head with such an appealing expression. Well balanced in outline with arched neck into good shoulders, straight front, lovely chest and ribbing for age, firm topline and well angulated rear. Moved so well for a baby, accurate out and back and maintaining his elegant outline in profile, covering the ground with ease. An exciting prospect in beautiful condition, I imagine his owner can’t wait for him to turn 6months to start what is bound to be a successful puppy career! Best Baby Puppy in Show.

Baby Puppy Bitch (2,1)

1. Crosscop I Was Born This Way at Colburde (Mr C Burdess). Another delightful baby with a feminine head, bright eyes and sweet expression. Soundly constructed with good reach of neck, straight front, good bone and feet, body developing as expected at this age, sound rear with tail set and carried nicely. Moved happily with confidence.

Puppy Dog (2)

1. Edenwhip If I Can Dream (Mr J Winkley-Balmer) 8 month fawn who is big enough already but has a nice balance to his outline with good reach of neck, nice topline and underline, straight front and parallel rear, good bone and feet. Masculine head of good proportions with strong jaw and bright eyes. Attentive showman who moved well in all directions, accurate out and back and with a good length of stride and typical action in profile. BPIS

2. Johthryn Snooze You Loose (Mrs K J & Mr J D Jones) 6 month old who’s size appealed more here but didn’t quite have the outline of 1. Decent neck into sound front assembly, good depth of chest but needs a bit more fill in front, well sprung ribs, balanced rear angulation with tail set correctly. Nice head and expression, moving freely and presented in lovely condition.

Junior Dog (3)

1. Edenwhip Oregano JW (Mrs E K & Miss L Mallinson) 14months old who appealed instantly. Masculine yet elegant with nice curves, good bone and a smooth flowing outline from head to tail. Lovely head with neat ears, nice eyes, strong jaw and alert expression. Arched neck into good shoulders, straight front with good fill, well sprung ribs, strong loin and well angulated rear. Easily one of the best moving males in the entry, free and easy with a good length of stride holding his outline firm in profile. RBD.

2. Bowdonia No Way Jose at Runforest (Miss E Schofield) Not quite as settled as 1 so wasn’t making the best of himself but still of obvious quality with typical balance to his outline, strong neck, good topline, nicely angulated rear, straight front with good depth of chest, spring of rib and strong loin. Moved soundly.

3. Flerrow Rydings Romances (Mrs S R Hope)

Graduate Dog (4,1)

1. Ballenbreich Harris JW (Mr K Burton) 2yr old who appealed for size and elegance here. Lean head of good length with a sweet expression and nice eyes. Ample reach of neck, some fill in front, good underline and moderate rear angulation. Moved freely.

2. Shulune's Chasing Thrills (Miss J M Fort) Soundly made but a little more of him all through than 1 and not quite as elegant in outline. Balanced angulation fore and aft, pleasing topline and underline and in well muscled condition. Masculine head with alert expression. Moved happily, could have more reach in front.

3. Flerrow Rydings Romances (Mrs S R Hope)

Post Graduate Dog (5,2)

1. Bohosoul Firestarter by Edenwhip (Mr J & Ms R Winkley-Balmer & Winkley) This 2 yr old was an easy winner here and continued to appeal each time he returned to the ring to eventually take the top spot! Balanced, elegant and unexaggerated in outline with good topline and underline, good bone and feet, strong arched neck and well muscled rear. Attractive masculine head of good proportions, neat ears, flat skull and bright oval eyes. Moved with such an easy action, long and low, good out and back holding his outline firm at all times. In pristine condition and handled expertly to get the best out of him. So graceful, balanced and unexaggerated, I thought he was lovely. BD, BIS.

2. Kierpark It’s Now or Never among Silkdance (Ms C Price) 10 month puppy presented in lovely condition with handsome head and bright eyes. Long, strong neck into good shoulders, well sprung ribs, good topline and strong rear. Moved well maintaining his outline in profile and covering the ground well.

3. Collooney for Your Eyes Only JW (Mr M & Mrs S Brooks)

Limit Dog (7,4)

1. Starceylon Dancing Master JW (Mr C & Mrs L & Miss A Tyson) Liked this boy for size and type, curvy and elegant in outline with good topline and underline, good bone and feet, could have a little more fill in front. Pleasant head with neat ears. Moved with a typical action, ok out and back and holding a nice outline in profile.

2. Kierpark Moonlight Shadow among Silkdance JW (Ms C Price) Close up to 1, masculine head of good length with strong jaw and neat ears. Sound construction throughout with arched neck, good depth of chest and spring of rib, well angulated rear. Moved freely.

Veteran Dog (4)

1. Ch Wheelspin Silver Shadow among Silkdance JW VW (Ms C Price). Super veteran who was close up in the challenge. Smooth and effortless on the move, true out and back and holding a lovely outline in profile. Well constructed throughout with strong neck, good shoulders, straight front with good bone and feet, well sprung ribs good topline and underline. Lovely head and expression. BVD, RBVIS

2. Demerlay Charming Charlie (Mrs S R Hope) Very happy 7 year old who made a good account of himself but couldn’t match the balance of 1. Lean head with alert expression, good reach of neck, deep chest, well sprung ribs, could be a little longer in body. Moved soundly.

Special Racing/Lure Coursing Dog (1)

1. Starceylon Re Di Cuori of Silvergarth (Ms J Jones) 2year old with lovely outlook. A little narrow all through but has a nice curvy outline in profile which he holds well on the move. Could have better angulation in front but has a nicely angulated rear, good bone and feet. Lean head of good length with bright eyes and alert expression, moved freely, good going away, could be better coming towards. Best R/LC in show.

Minor Puppy Bitch (4,1)

1. Edenwhip Daydream Believer (Mrs D Roth-Brown). Litter sister to the bpd and they are very similar. She had the best construction and shape here which was reflected in her sound, positive movement. Pretty, feminine head with lovely eyes and neat ears. Long neck into good front assembly, straight front, good chest and ribbing for age, strong loin, well angulated rear, good bone and feet. Moved well with a good length of stride and easy action, the best out and back here although a little happy with her tail at times! BPB, RBPIS

2. Starceylon Lagioconda (Mr C & Mrs L & Miss A Tyson). Well handled 6month old baby with a very pretty head. Nice size with pleasing outline, good reach of neck, straight front with good fill, could have a little better angulation in front, nicely angulated rear with well set and carried tail, could be a touch longer in body for balance. Free moving and in super condition.

3. Ballauren's You Got It (Miss L & Miss L J Cooper)

Junior Bitch (2,1)

1. Edenwhip A Moment in Thyme (Mrs E K & Miss L Mallinson) 13month who is still fairly immature and narrow all through but has a lovely curvy outline, balanced angulation in front and behind, good bone and strong loin. Long, lean head with neat ears and bright eyes. Was a little unsettled on the move and just needs a little more confidence to make the best of herself. Handled well.

Yearling Bitch (2)

1. Edenwhip Harvest Moon (Mrs N J Wood) 16month fawn who appealed greatly and was close up in the challenge, just lacking the maturity of the final winners. Lovely for size and balance with a smooth, curvy outline, arched neck, good shoulders, nice fill in front, well sprung ribs, good topline and underline and strong, well angulated rear. Beautiful head and expression with bright, oval eyes, neat ears and strong jaw. Moved with a typical action, covered the ground well and moved true out and back. In super condition and handled to an advantage.

2. Cygnetsnest Moonlight (Mrs S M Swan) Similar in size and shape to 1 but not quite as mature yet and wasn’t being overly cooperative for her handler on the move so didn’t go as well as I’m sure she could. Feminine head with strong jaw and appealing expression. Nicely balanced outline with good underline, a little flat in topline at the moment, balanced front and rear assembly and well muscled condition.

Graduate Bitch (5,1)

1. Edenwhip Moonstruck (Mr J & Miss S Winkley-Balmer & Burton) 16 months old and won here on her more positive movement, the best out and back, showed some reach and drive in profile and held her outline firm. Strong neck, good bone, nice underline, well sprung ribs and strong loin.

2. Shulune Neva Ending Thrills (Miss J M Fort) Preferred this one’s head and expression, good depth of chest and spring of rib, well angulated rear and in well muscled condition. Moved soundly but could cover the ground better.

3. Hologem I'm Amazing (Mrs C Parkinson)

Post Graduate Bitch (3,1)

1. Hologem You Were Made for Me (Mrs C Parkinson) Very nice size and proportions, good neck and shoulders, straight front, good fill and depth of chest, well sprung ribs, good topline which she maintains on the move, strong, well angulated rear. Pretty head and expression, moving well, true out and back, covers the ground fairly well in profile.

2. Edenwhip See Her Sparkle (Mr J & Miss S Winkley-Balmer & Burton) A little taller than 1 but still presenting an elegant outline with good topline and underline, good bone and feet, in lovely condition and fine coat. Nicely proportioned head with strong jaw and bright oval eyes. Moved well, not quite as good out and back as 1.

Limit Bitch, (8,2)

1. Groomsville Hologem Heavens Dream (Mrs C Parkinson) Easy winner here, unexaggerated, elegant but strong with lovely curves and super sound on the move. Lovely for size and balance with good fill in front, well angulated fore and aft, well sprung ribs, super topline and underline, strong loin, good bone and feet. Long, lean head with lovely eyes, neat ears and alert expression. Moved with a lovely length of stride, covering the ground with ease whilst holding her outline firm. Presented in fabulous condition and handled perfectly. RBB.

2. Starceylon Regina Di Quadri JW (Mr C & Mrs L & Miss A Tyson) Similar size to 1 but not quite the substance. Lovely head and expression, good neck and shoulders, deep chest with nice fill in front, well sprung ribs and well angulated rear. Moved freely, not as positive as 1 out and back.

3. Demerlay in Your Eyes at Klondyke (Mrs I Potts)

Open Bitch (3,2)

1. Willowash Amera at Shulune (Miss J M Fort) Elegant in outline with good topline and underline, deep chest with good fill in front, well angulated rear, good muscle tone and fine coat. Pleasing head and expression. Moved soundly but could be cleaner out and back and had too much lift in front.

Veteran Bitch (2)

1. Crosscop Brown Eyed Girl VW (Mrs J Holland) 10yr old lady who looks simply fantastic for her age and outmoved most of the competition on the day. Loved her size and shape, superb muscle tone, fine coat and smooth outline from head to toe. Strong arched neck, super chest and ribbing with good fill in front, well angulated fore and aft, straight front, lovely topline, strong rear, good bone and feet. Such a sweet face with lovely eyes, strong jaw, neat ears and intelligent expression. Totally accurate in all directions holding her outline firm, covering the ground with plenty of reach and drive. She was pushed hard by the younger, slightly curvier bitches but at more than double their ages I couldn’t ignore her superb movement, balanced outline and fit condition, such a credit to her owner, I’m surprised she doesn’t hold her title. BB, RBIS, BOS, BVIS.

2. Citycroft Starfall JW VW ShCEx OSW (J Wilkinson) Another veteran in super condition. A little bigger all through but still feminine and elegant with good front and rear assembly, straight front, good underline and strong loin. Well balanced head with strong jaw, bright oval eyes and neat ears. Moved well but couldn’t quite match the length of stride of 1.

Special Racing/Lure Coursing Bitch (2,1)

1. Silvergarth Selene (Ms J Jones) 20months old and rather narrow all through and consequently moved very close out and back. Feminine head of good length with alert expression. Well angulated rear, good bone and feet, strong loin and arched neck. Happy on the move.
