Puppy (3)
1.Morley & Hitchcock’s Shardlow Come On Over To Lizlanmor. 11month r/f bitch who’s quality is obvious. Beautiful head, wide with well spaced dark eyes, dense pigment, open nostrils, wide muzzle, firm underjaw and such a beautiful expression. Great bone and substance, lovely front assembly, good chest and ribbing, distinct waist and sound rear, picks up heavy and is in immaculate coat and condition. Moved soundly with a typical action and such a delightful attitude. I wondered if she might be my bob but her much more mature kennel mates meant she had to settle for BP. However, I was delighted to hear that she did end the day as BPIS, congratulations.
2.Hyde’s Londor Bette Davis. Another gorgeous baby, only 6 months old so wasn’t quite as together as 1 on the move but was not disgraced at all standing 2nd here. Her head and expression are delightful, feminine and of good width, beautiful eyes, short wide muzzle with super chin and finish to lips. Short neck, good shoulders, level topline and sound rear. Lovely bone, substance and size. Moved soundly, good out and back with a typical action. A lovely baby.
3.Morley & Hitchcock’s Lizlanmor Midnight Sky.
Special Yearling (2)
1.Morley’s Klerkshof Red Rum at Lizlanmor. 15month male who is all of a piece and particularly impressed on the move. Small and thick set with short, pear shaped body, lovely front with broad chest and good ribbing, tight elbows and good bone. Firm topline, well muscled, parallel rear with tail set and carried correctly. Large, masculine head with lovely eyes, good nostrils and nicely finished muzzle with firm underjaw. In immaculately presented coat who’s correct texture was obvious before even touching it, enhancing his leonine appearance and balanced outline. His dignified, rolling gait and lovely front and rear action gave him the edge over some lovely dogs. RBOB.
2.Hyde’s Londor Ginger Rogers. Litter sister to 2nd in puppy and so very similar just not quite holding herself together on the move yet but at 6months was always going to find it hard to compete against a mature male here! On head alone she would have won the class, absolutely gorgeous, feminine face with well spaced dark round eyes, broad flat skull, well set ears, short wide muzzle with good chin, neat lips and such an endearing expression, I could have looked at that face all day! Good size and substance, picks up heavy and is well off for bone. Nicely balanced with good front and rear assembly, broad chest, distinct waist and high set tail. Didn't quite have it together on the move, topline just needs to firm and was a little close away. Interesting to see afterwards that these 2 share the same sire, I am sure she’ll have many admirers as she matures.
Post Graduate (1)
1.Morley & Hitchcock’s Sealaw Serenity at Lizlanmor. Another puppy, this one an 8month old bitch presented in the highest order as all from this exhibitor. Small, compact and feminine with a lovely expression, wide, shallow head with dark eyes, neat lips and defined chin. Shapely body, maturing well for age with firm topline, sound front and rear assembly, good bone and picks up heavy. Very happy on the move, showing off her sound, typical action.
Limit (2)
1.Morley & Hitchcock’s Lizlanmor Declaration JW. Mature 2yr male presented in good coat of the correct texture, enhancing his balanced outline with firm topline, well set and carried tail, super chest and ribbing with close elbows, well boned forelegs, distinct waist and well constructed rear. Large, masculine head of good width with dark round eyes, short wide muzzle and dense pigment. Lovely substance for his size, picks up heavy and moves with a confident, rolling gait.
2.Tilsed’s Pekehuis No Persuasion at Shiera. Spritely 8.5yr old in super condition and a credit to her owner. Pretty, feminine head, shallow and wide with defined stop, dark expressive eyes, well set and furnished ears and intelligent expression. Soundly constructed and heavy to pick up, would just like her a little shorter in body. Moves very happily and only had eyes for her handler. Presented in quality coat.
Open Dog (1)
1.Morley’s Klerkshof We Will Rock You at Lizlanmor. Very impressive 2yr fawn who really filled my eye presenting such a beautiful outline with pristine coat of the correct texture enhancing his leonine appearance, standing and looking at me with his lustrous dark eyes just daring me not to pick him! Broad, masculine head, flat between beautifully furnished ears, well spaced large dark eyes, short, wide muzzle with good underjaw and nicely finished lips. Short neck, super front assembly with ribs well slung, short, thick legs, strong pasterns, shapely body with distinct waist, moderate rear angulation with firm hocks and high set tail carried correctly. Picks up heavy. Handled expertly at the correct speed to show off his sound rolling gait, moving around the ring in a steady, dignified manner, super out and back. Although the entry was a quality one I had no hesitation in awarding him BOB and was delighted to hear he later took RBIS.
Open Bitch (1)
1.Morley & Hitchcock’s Dinarth Daisy Mazie at Lizlanmor JW. Nice size 3.5yr who picks up heavy and although not in her best coat had nothing to hide with short neck, pear shaped body, sound front and rear assembly, firm topline, good chest and ribbing, short body and high set tail. Very pretty face and the sweetest expression with beautiful dark round eyes, open nostrils, clean wrinkle, good underjaw and chin. Another from this kennel who impresses on the move, good in front and sound behind with desired rolling gait. Unfortunately wasn’t happy with a different handler for the challenge.
YKC Handling
We had 2 rings opened up for the handling, however this made it tricky for the handlers as the matts on the floor were then not in a ‘usual’ place so they had to really think about their lines and corners.
6-11 (1,1)
12-17 (4)
1. Leah Chadwick (ckcs) Leah did a super job of showing her cavalier in a calm, confident manner, completing everything I asked of her with little fuss. She moved her dog at the right speed with straight lines and good corners. Her table work was good, just needing to check that her dog’s feet are always placed correctly and the same when free standing on the floor. She didn’t use my positioning as a guide for the final up and down and stood her dog too close to present but overall was the handler who showed her dog off to the best advantage and obviously has a really good rapport with her dog.
2. Grace Rutherford (pug) A handler I’ve seen and judged many times since she was very young and always impresses with her quiet, unfussy style and has really turned into a great handler. She was close to winning the class when she was the only one to position her final up and down correctly however her dog’s lines were just not as straight as 1 and I didn’t feel they were working quite as well together as Leah and her cavalier. However her table work was super and the ease of showing the teeth on a brachy breed was impressive.
3. Kristia Welbourn-Goddard (Pom) Another very smart handler, not quite as polished a performance as 1 & 2 but obviously knows her stuff, just needs to make sure the lead is neatly tucked away and always watch for the judges’ positioning when completing patterns.
