Breed: Various Breeds & Hound group

Worcester & Malvern Canine Society

30th December 2025

Judge: Miss L Tarabad (Khatibi)

I thoroughly enjoyed my day at this very well supported open show. The quality in all the breeds was superb, AVNSC hound was choc full of quality and the group was probably the best quality Hound group I’ve ever judged. I was delighted that the BIS judge appreciated all of my winners and all 3 took the top spots at the end of the day!

Havanese

Post Graduate (2)

1. Dalton Hera from Hearmean (Imp Nld) (Mrs Janet Cheshire) 20month dog presented in pristine condition. Handsome head with nice eye, good length of muzzle and dense pigment. Soundly made with good substance, correct topline, well sprung ribs and strong rear. Moved with a lovely action, accurate out and back and with a lovely spring in his step in profile. BOB

2. Newtonwood Rock with You (Miss A & Mr J Carter & Chadburn). Not as happy on the move as 1 and tended to drop his tail. Nice size and balance, enough neck, good front and rear assembly and well sprung ribs. Pleasing head and expression.

Open (1)

1. Be Cooper Novi from Hearmean (Imp Nld) (Mrs Janet Cheshire) Sweet 2yr old male with a delightful temperament. Nice size with sound front assembly, good topline, moderately angulated rear and high set tail. Moved happily. RBOB.

Portuguese Water Dog

What a fabulous entry to sort out!

Special Yearling (1)

1. Portomel Santa Isabel at Belleville (Mrs C & Mr E Thompson-Morgan & Morgan) Very outgoing puppy who I judged at just 6 months old and made her BP, 2 months on and she’s already matured a lot and was showing like a pro! Nicely balanced with good front and rear assembly, strong loin and correctly set and carried tail. Pretty head with nice eyes and alert expression. Moved with purpose holding her outline firm, just needs time to firm up behind. Well handled and presented. BP.

 Open Dog (4)

1. Ch Rarjo Captain Curl Macduff JW (Mr B C & Ms L G Williams & Newton). Having judged this impressive youngster previously I didn’t think I would find anything to beat him but his equally impressive veteran sire certainly gave him a run for his money! Both present a beautiful outline, almost carbon copies of each other with 2 just a fraction smaller than his son, both in the most fabulous condition, well muscled and fit, furnished with a perfectly presented quality curly coat. Soundly made which is reflected in their effortless, accurate movement. Their heads are so handsome with big noses, strong jaws, correct length of muzzle and lovely expressions. I really found it hard to split them but 1 just came towards a little cleaner and has the darkest of eyes with such a fabulous penetrating expression which was ultimately too hard to resist. BOB, G4.

2. Ch/can Grchb/can/am Ch Macduff's Critical Acclaim (Imp Can) (Mr B C & Ms L G & Miss M Williams & Newton & Slack). When it came to RBOB I had no hesitation in calling this veteran back, he is so similar to his son you couldn’t possibly appreciate one and not the other! RBOB.

3. Ch Belleville Salva Vidas (Mrs C & Mr E Thompson-Morgan & Morgan)

 Open Bitch (2)

1. Ch Rarjo Macduff Making Waves with Megulcie JW (Miss Md & Miss Lg & Mr Bc Slack & Newton & Williams). Litter sister to BOB and another superb example of the breed who could easily have been BOB on another day. She is put together so well and is presented in quite fabulous condition with her wavy coat enhancing her balanced outline. Her head is feminine but retains the strength required with large skull, defined stop, strong jaw and dark round eyes. Free moving with outline held firm, just a little close going away however I really was splitting hairs between the siblings and their sire.

2. Ch Rarjo Calm The Storm Macduff (Mr B C & Ms L G & Mrs A E Williams & Newton & Carter). 4yr bitch, who although wasn’t in show coat certainly had nothing to hide and was particularly impressive on the move. Well balanced in outline with firm topline, well set and carried tail, good chest and ribbing, moderate tuck up and strong rear. Correctly balanced head with strong jaw, defined stop and furrow between dark expressive eyes. As all from this kennel she was in such fit condition and handled to an advantage.

Tibetan Spaniel

Another top quality entry to assess.

 Puppy (1)

1. Clydum Magic Maid (Mr I & Mr D Blackshaw & Roberts) Very happy 8 month bitch with such a pretty face! Small head of good proportions, high set ears, good mouth and dark eyes. Nicely balanced outline with plenty of substance, firm topline, good front and rear assembly and lovely feet. Moved well in all directions and presented in quality coat.

 Junior (3,1)

1. Susu The Show Must Go On (Miss C L Cooper). 9 month puppy who is fairly mature for her age with lovely substance and super front and rear assembly. Correctly balanced length of body with level topline, well sprung ribs and correctly set and carried tail. Small, feminine head with defined stop, dark eyes, dense pigment, short blunt muzzle with good chin. Sound, effortless mover, holding a firm outline. Bp.

2. Susu Banana Parti Boat at Tephiti (Mrs R & Miss L Collins) Masculine 15 month dog with pleasing head and expression. Strong neck into sound front assembly, level topline, high set tail, moderate bone and quality coat. Moved smartly but not quite as positive out and back as 1.

Post Graduate (3,1)

1. Souska Forever Yours (Mr Ian Blackshaw) Nearing 2years old and appealed greatly for size and balance. Beautiful head and expression with well cushioned muzzle, good width and depth of chin, dark oval eyes, nice ears and dense pigment. Soundly constructed and presenting a typical outline, uses herself well on the move looking particularly good in profile. RBOB.

2. Linsdown Socialite among Susu (Miss C L Cooper) Very sweet 6yr old bitch who was a little reluctant to cooperate on the move but her young handler did a great job of encouraging her. Small and feminine with such a cheeky face, short neck into good shoulders, level topline and well constructed rear.

Open (6,3)

1. Ch Susu The Brightest Star (Miss Cl & Miss M & Miss S Cooper & Ottens & Ottens) Beautiful quality bitch who I see now is mother to the BP. Small and feminine with super head and expression, small and well proportioned with short, well cushioned muzzle, good chin, lovely eyes and high set ears. Beautifully constructed and always standing to an advantage to show off her super outline. Presented in super condition with enough substance for size, moderate bone and good feet. Smart and positive on the move, accurate out and back and carrying herself so well in profile. BOB

2. Souska Dance with You (Mr Ian Blackshaw) 3 yr old dog who was certainly keeping his handler on his toes! Mature and in good coat with well sprung ribs, moderate bone, level topline and strong rear. Masculine head with defined stop, dark eyes, short muzzle and good chin. Moved freely and accurately.

3. Oldcharm Peaky Love for Alandobel JW (Mr A & Miss A Keepence & Keyte)

Miniature Schnauzer

Puppy (1)

1. Wlanimu's Luck Favors The Bold for Igglewick (Imp Ukr) (Mrs E Mcgarrigle) Well presented 11month dog with good neck, decent shoulders, good chest and ribbing and well angulated rear. Pleasant head and expression with dark eyes and good mouth. Moved well and was very well schooled. BP

 Post Graduate (3)

1. Penbro Replica for Devorasjoy (Mrs D & Mr D Butler)15month p/s bitch pleasing outline, squarely built with good topline, balanced front and rear angulation, well sprung ribs and short, strong loin. Feminine head with keen expression and dark eyes. Moved smartly with nice reach and drive.

2. Wlanimu's Luck Favors The Bold for Igglewick (Imp Ukr) (Mrs E Mcgarrigle)

3. Brown Sugar Lady for Devorasjoy (Mrs D & Mr D Butler)

Open (2)

1. Risepark First Lady of Heibri JW (Mr J McDonald) Almost 2 years old and has matured beautifully since I judged her earlier in the year. On that occasion it was her kennel mate stood 2nd who just had the edge but this time she was victorious! Such a smart outline, sturdily built with super neck and shoulders, firm topline, high set tail and well angulated rear. Strong yet feminine head of good length with good planes, dark eyes, strong muzzle and dense pigment. She impressed greatly on the move with super reach and drive circling the ring with purpose and style. Presented in immaculate coat and condition as always from this kennel. BOB, G3.

2. Risepark First Stage JW (Miss L & Miss T & Mr J Parker & Saunders & McDonald) Another top quality example of the breed who certainly wasn’t disgraced standing 2nd here. Fabulous head and expression, masculine, well muscled and squarely built with pristine harsh coat. Well constructed and consequently moves soundly and accurately, but couldn’t match the front action of 1. Nevertheless a beautiful young dog and no doubt destined to carry his title. RBOB.

Beagle

.Junior (3,1)

1. Blunderhall Jackson JW (Ms S Hardisty) Quality 12 month male of good size and balance. Compact and sturdy with good front and rear assembly, good bone and feet, well sprung ribs, firm topline and high set tail. Handsome head with soft expression, low set ears, defined stop and large dark eyes. Moved freely with a good length of stride, accurate out and back. Handled and presented to an advantage. BOB, Group 4.

2. Lilleagle Waterboy (Miss T Davis) A little apprehensive so harder to assess but went well once he settled on the move. A touch long for ideal balance, pleasing head and expression.

 Open (5,2)

1. Redcap Northern Lights over Alandobel VW (Mr A & Miss A Keepence & Keyte) 8 yr old veteran bitch who is super smart on the move holding a firm outline and covering the ground with ease. Feminine head of good proportions, kind eye and low set, long fine ears. Good neck and shoulders, super topline and tail carriage, well sprung ribs, short loin and well angulated rear. In super condition for her age and a credit to her owner. RBOB.

2. Rossut Vizier for Houndscoast (Miss Sc Webster) 3yr dog of good balance and soundly constructed throughout but couldn’t quite match the smart outline of 1 on the move. Masculine head with nice eyes and pleasant expression.

3. Lilleagle Chivas Whisky (Miss T Davis)

Rhodesian Ridgeback

Open (4,3)

1. Ch Priorpark Proof in Pudding JW (Miss H Parsons) Only 1 present on the day but could have won in any competition and quite honestly I thought she was of such quality that she was sure to be my group winner later! So well balanced, strong yet feminine with super neck and shoulders, good chest and ribbing, strong loin, well turned stifles with hocks well let down, strong bone and good feet. Head of good length, broad and flat between high set ears, defined stop, bright round eyes, powerful muzzle and strong jaw. Effortless on the move covering the ground easily and maintaining her outline and all times. No surprise to see she already has her title. BOB, Group 2.

Whippet

Puppy (5,1)

1. Citycroft Not My First Rodeo at Runforest (Miss M Dillon). Only 7months old but an easy winner here and later topped the breed. Such a mature performance for one so young, always standing to an advantage showing off his graceful outline with arched neck into good shoulders, lovely topline and underline, well angulated rear with good bone and feet. Long, lean head with bright expressive eyes, neat ears and strong jaw. Sound and true on the move, covering the ground well in profile with a typical action and firm outline. BOB, BP, Puppy Group 1, BPIS.

2. Zeglynn Bee Liever (Ms G Z Perkins) 8 month dog who presented a nicely balanced outline standing with good reach of neck, nice topline and underline and sound rear. Head of good length with nice eyes and strong jaw. Moved soundly but wasn’t as good in front as 1.

3. Ballauren's You Got It (Miss L & Miss L J Cooper)

Junior (6,2)

1. Citycroft Not My First Rodeo at Runforest (Miss M Dillon)

2. Ballauren's You Got It (Miss L & Miss L J Cooper) Wasn’t always stood to the best advantage but won her place here on her better profile action, smooth with a good length of stride but did tend to flatten in topline. Head of good proportions with alert expression.

1. Silkridge Rapture with Zeglynn (Ms G Z Perkins) 2 yr dog of nice type with lovely neck, good shoulders, good fill in front, correct topline and well muscled rear. 2. Ringmore Jocasta (Mrs V Leathart) Lovely size and curvy outline with good fill in front, nice topline and underline and strong rear. Feminine head with nice eyes. Just lost out on the move having a little too much lift in front and not the smooth action of 1.

Pretty head of good length, neat ears, bright eyes and strong jaw. Moved freely and covered the ground with a fair length of stride. Well handled. RBOB.

2. Zeglynn Hello You (Ms G Z Perkins) Beautifully conditioned 4 yr dog with good front and rear assembly, good underline, strong loin and well sprung ribs. Strong, masculine head of good length and alert expression. Moved well, true out and back and holding his outline firm in profile. Just not quite the elegance of 1.

3. Ringmore Iona (Mrs V Leathart)

AVNSC Hound . These classes were absolutely full of quality, the puppies in particular would all have featured in the group placings had they come through from breed classes so it was a real shame they all competed here and only one could go through and even more of a shame that the winner couldn’t stay for the group as she would have been a very strong contender.

Puppy (5,2)

1. Soletrader Golly Miss Molly, Breed: Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) (Miss C L & Mrs E Cooper & Cadmore) 8 month baby who is hard to ignore. Body maturing well for age with good chest and ribbing, strong loin and balanced front and rear assembly. Such a pretty and cheeky face with lovely eyes and expression.
