German Shorthaired Pointers

Puppy (2 entries)

1st, BOB & BP Poulton’s Seasham Night Nurse

These were both very nice puppies, 1st was just more accurate on the move and was happier. A lovely feminine head with correct bite. I would have preferred a slightly darker eye but she’s young so still has time for this to alter. Good depth and width of chest. Plenty of upperarm and good shouder angulation. Correct square outline. Good rear angulation. Harsh coat. Moved really well from all directions, very accurate with plenty of rear and drive.

2nd. Brown & Filby’s Desjiem Rebel Rebel (AI)

A very similar type to 1st, feminine head, good ear set and nice dark eyes. Square in outline. Good shoulder and rear angulation. A strong loin. Was a little unsure on the move which could easily have been down to the venue.

Open (2 entries, 1 absent)

1st. Brown & Filby’s Sh Ch Winterwell Thatlldo for Desjiem JW

A smart bitch. Well proportioned head. Good dentition. Good length of upper arm. Plenty of depth and width to the chest. Could have done with a little more elbow room. Correct topline and square in outline. Correct tailset and enough rear angulation. Moved OK but without any pizzaz which cost her BOB.

German Wirehaired Pointer

Post Graduate (3 entries, 1 absent)

1st. Jones’ Germanus Hotwyr Monaro

A nice dog with a very masculine head. Good shoulder angulation. Plenty of depth and width of chest. Correct topline and a little longer than square. Would prefer a slightly shorter loin. Good rear angulation. Harsh wire coat. He wasn’t enjoying the venue and was very fidgety and wouldn’t settle on the move either.

2nd. Geary’s Becka Dreams of Little Prince at Germanus (Imp Hun)

This bitch also wasn’t enjoying the venue and was hunching when stacked (held the correct topline on the move though). Nice head, strong neck. Not bad shoulder angulation. Strong loin. Harsh coat. Rear angulation was ok. Was erratic on the move. Didn’t perform today and I’m sure she will show better elsewhere.

Open (5 entries, 1 absent)

1st & BOB Turnbull & Keene’s Glenquin The Colonel at Elagram JW

A very impressive black and white male. No mistaking his masculine head, correct dentition and a nice dark eye. Plenty of depth and width of chest. Good length of upper arm. Longer than square, with the correct sloping topline and not too much tuck up. Good rear angulation. A really good harsh coat. Moved really well with plenty of rear and drive – the ring just wasn’t big enough for him.

2nd. Geary’s Sh Ch Germanus Stands Out a Mile

A nice bitch. Feminine head with correct ear set and correct bite. Good depth and width of chest but not the front angulation of first. Longer than square. Good coat. Good rear angulation. Moved well.
