NEWMARKET & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY PREMIER OPEN SHOW 22.06.2025 I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge today, it was a real pleasure and I had some lovely dogs to go over. Thank you to all the exhibitors who attended the show. Many thanks to my very efficient stewards, who kept the ring running smoothly. Pyrenean Mountain Dog Yearling 1 Kennedy’s Gamuvel Patou Via Dell Amore at Pyrcot [Imp Lva] Female rising 2 years old. Only one stood in the ring for the breed and I was pleased to see the quality. Good head to go over being strong without losing her feminine look in any way. Moderate angulation fore and aft, strong well boned forelimbs with compact feet. Well let down in chest and sprung in ribbing, holds her shape on the move from all angles. Beautiful calm temperament. handled and presented well. BOB Old English Sheepdog Open 1 Pullen’s Meadowbears Master of Music 6 year old male. Proportionate in head with good width all through, distinct stop, eyes set well apart, strong jaws with complete clean dentition. Powerful neck of fair length into moderated forehand, well let down in chest and sprung in ribbing, topline firm at all times. Defined in quarters giving him an easy driving action to complement his reach. Well presented in harsh, clean jacket BOB Samoyed P 1 Mann’s Bennettia Princess Ariel Very promising 6 month old female. Good head to handle with typical Sammy ”smile”, ears set well apart and used when needed. Moderately angulated fore and aft with strong bone all through. Ample ribbing for her age, topline firm whether static or on the move where she is sound at all times. Well presented in jacket. She just needs time to mature on. BOB & BPIB Bearded Collie Yearling 1 Reynolds’ Beabeardies Blue Velvet 3 siblings presented in this class of one year old. The male took my attention by his shape and beautiful coat. Scores well in head being proportionate and clean. Well ribbed up for shape and length, holds a firm topline on the move at any time. He was nicely presented and moved very well. BPIB 2 Bevis’ Beabeardies Blue Monday His sister is super feminine and of lovely type too. She is as feminine as he is masculine and sure they will swap many times through their careers. Good head to go over, strong without being overdone in any way. Correct body assembly front and rear. Excellent mover when settled. L 1 Bevis’ Beabeardies Cinnamon Girl Lovely female rising 6 years old. She has a good overall shape and balance. Correct angulation front and back. Clean in footfall sound at all times. Presented really well. RBOB 2 Dobrowolski’s Highlade Moon Child at Trileada 2 year old female. Nicely constructed with everything fitting nicely throughout. Strong in body toning. Balanced outline and good movement. O 1 Salmon’s Potterdale Heritage ShCEx 5 year old male. Good head to go over, strong but in no way coarse or overdone. Ears and eyes set well giving a pleasing expression. Forehand is well angulated and matched to a “T” in his quarters giving him a balanced silhouette whether on the move or stacked up. Moved like a dream around the ring. Put down to the minute in hard clean jacket. BOB Japanese Chin P 1Swan’s Kassui Chaos 9 month old female of lovely character, loved her type. Scores well in head with both ears and eyes set apart and the latter carried high and forward. Ample length of neck into well constructed forehand. Well bodied and balanced throughout. Easy moving from any angle in harmony with her handler at all times. Presented exceptionally to complete the picture. BP & BOB Lowchen (Little Lion Dog) L 1 Reynold’s Hollinsclose One Love Male rising 5 years old Good head to go over being quite broad and strong without being overdone in any way. He gives a good expression from his dark round eyes and ears set level. Strong jaws with correct bite and dentition. Moderate length of neck flowing cleanly into well angulated forehand and straight front. Good length and shape of ribbing, holds his topline level at all times static or on the moved where he shines with a free and sound movement in all directions. Beautifully presented, great handling. BOB Maltese Y 1 Rycraft’s Leejuaston Missy Kiss Chase 14 months old well constructed female. Pleasing head proportions being slightly rounded in skull, distinct stop, dark brown oval eyes and feathered ears that are carried close. Neck is of good length easing cleanly into well angulated front. Well ribbed up, firm in back, thanks in part to his strong well angulated quarters. Presented in full clean jacket. Moved really well. BOB Papillon Y 1 Last’s Lastayla Hocus Pocus 20 month old female. Very pleasant head of correct proportions, good ear set, dark round eyes and overall pigmentation. Correct dentition and strength in jaws. Good length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders and straight front. Deep well filled chest and ribs of good shape and length of loin. Defined in quarters Level top line presenting beautiful outline with lovely coat. Easy moving RBOB L 1 Lees’ Lafford Black Onyx JW 3 year old male with super presence and showing qualities, Beautiful head to handle all male without being overdone in any way, dark eyes and pigmentation, well set and feathered mobile ears that he uses to his benefit when needed. Forehand is well constructed for angulation and overall toning. Good length of body, ample ribbing, firm topline and quarters. Excellent presentation in jacket and conditioning. Fluent and controlled on the move at all times. BOB O 1 Geidon’s SLO CH Bresar’s You’ll Never Walk Alone 3 ¼ year old male. Good head to handle, well proportioned and strong, Dark eyes and overall pigmentation. Moderate angulation fore and aft. Steady and sound on the move coming and going. Shown in full clean jacket For me he’s on the bigger side for size. Shetland Sheepdog P 1.Durant’s Misti Moon Over Neraklee. 8 months old female. Beautiful blue merle bitch puppy of lovely quality. Correct size. Presents an outstanding outline with a correct body and structure throughout, beautiful coat of clear blue colouring, enhanced by a glamorous white collar and full white front legs. Lovely head with feminine expression and almond shaped eyes. Moved soundly and freely, holding her topline well on the move, covering the ground with minimal effort. Showed to advantage with excellent ear carriage, never faltering in attention. A very, very promising youngster with a bright future ahead. Stood out for me thanks to manybreed qualities. BP 2.Hull’s Lizmark Forget-Me-Not another 8 months old female puppy. Pretty blue merle bitch of slightly smaller size but well balanced throughout. Nice head with lovely ears and sweet expression. Moved really well. Shows an outgoing, cheeky temperament which adds to her charm—absolutely loved her attitude in the ring. Y 1.Rutherford’s Myter Black Tarquin at Stormhead JW 20 months old male. Most beautiful tricolour dog, a youngster I have admired on several occasions, and he did not disappoint today. Presented in fabulous condition, with a rich, jet-black coat and well-defined tan markings. Pleasing head with flat skull, dark almond eye, nicely moulded foreface and correct stop, well-set ears. Masculine, of correct size and with good bone. Moved well, showing off his elegant neck and firm topline to advantage. His full, profuse chest coat gives him a proud and impressive outline. Loved the overall picture—beautiful type. Definitely one to watch for the future BOB. 2. Rennison’s Zaniah’s Illusionist 14 months old male. Pleasant head and good ear set. Lovely outline and superb showing qualities, correct front and shoulder assembly, level top line, croup sloping gradually to the rear. Beautiful bimerle color with silvery background. Lovely coat fitting his body well. Moved well and presented superbly. L 1. Rutterford’s Kelgrove Midsummer Blue at Stormhead almost 7 years old bluemerle male of good size and rich coat. Beautiful head with correct planes and clean lines. Correct stop and well set ears. Well balanced body with good front assembly and well bent stifle. Level back with gentle slope to the rear. Moves with drive and enjoys the show time in the ring. 2. Fylyma’s Felthorn Material Girl of Fylymeg 2 years old female of beautiful bluemerle colour, clear silvery blue, splashed and marbled with black. Super feminine, of correct size and proportions. Lovey head of correct lines, almond eyes, well set ears. Pleasing expression. Nicely arched neck. Good front assembly, top line and rear angulation. Moved well in every direction. Excellent presentation. O 1 Hull’s Mohnesee Dream Date of Lizmark JW Seven years old veteran male of excellent overall type with the most appealing head and expression – classic, soft, and beautifully balanced – enchanting his unmistakable Sheltie character. His golden coloration is particularly lovely, and he carries a superb, correct coat: .double, harsh textures and straight outer hair and well conditioned soft undercoat. I have judged this dog previously and awarded him BOB and still hold him in very high regards. His virtues remain evident, however, today he lacked some of his usual sparkle, which showed in overall presence..RBOB 2.Taylor’s Ch Lafitte De Moorstile Chez Shelridge (Imp Fra) JW another veteran of 9 years old and looking fabulous for his age. The most beautiful head with smooth lines, well placed almond eyes and sweet masculine expression. Foreface is well rounded, good underjar. Neatly set ears. Nice bone and strong body with level top line and productive movement. Ideal for size. Pomeranian Y 1. Burrow’s Altina’s Ray of Sunshine at Lauloura 20 months old male of lovely type and presence, well balanced and beautifully handled. Pleasant head with a good stop, well-proportioned features, dark eyes, and ears set high and alert at all times. Short-coupled with a level topline, he is well angulated with fine but strong bone. He moved freely around the ring in a happy, confident manner. Sadly, he stood alone in the ring with eleven Pomeranians absent due to today’s hot weather. Well deserved BOB. Lana Robinson
