Puppy (2,1)

1st Nicholas, Mr S, Corneire Learning To Fly, upstanding 12-month-old fawn dog. He has a good head which retains masculinity without being overdone. Pleasing reach of neck flowing smoothly into well-placed shoulders. For me, he would benefit from just a little more return of upper arm to complete the picture in front. He has good depth of chest and is strong through the loin. Well-angulated hindquarters which he used to advantage on the move. Covered the ground well, moving straight and true both fore and aft. Best Puppy.

Junior (2,1)

1st Durante, Mrs L, Duranridge Chic Shadow, Brindle bitch who appeals greatly for size and shape. She has a feminine head with neat rose ears and a pleasing expression. Good reach of neck into well-placed shoulders, with ribbing carried well back. Well-angulated hindquarters. She was a little unsettled on the table and again on the move, which made it difficult to see her at her very best. However, when she did settle, she moved ok.

Graduate (4,1)

1st Nicholas, Mr S, Crosscop Save It For Me, Fawn bitch of lovely type and correct size. She has a classical head with pleasing expression, and a good reach of neck flowing into a well-placed front. She shows good depth throughout with ribbing carried well back and a strong loin. Stifles well bent, giving her balance and strength behind. Moved out soundly, though for me she was carrying a little too much weight today, which slightly detracted from her overall outline.

2nd Edwins, Mrs V, Dressed To The Nines Of Poet’s Corner, Pale fawn dog Nice for size, Correct head with pleasing expression, rose ears and good length of neck. Shoulders are well laid, however I would prefer a touch more return of upper arm and some additional fill in front to complete the picture. Ribbing is carried well back with well-bent. Moved ok

Post Graduate (5)

1st Jones Mrs K & Mr J Jothryn Manhatton Blonde JW, Brindle bitch of good type. She presents a correct head with a pleasing expression, and a good length of neck that flows smoothly into a well-constructed front assembly. Her ribbing is carried well back, giving a strong, balanced body, and her topline is firm and well-held. Hindquarters are well-angulated, allowing her to move with grace and drive. On the move, she covers the ground confidently in all directions, showing elegance and composure in the ring.

2nd Prowse, Mrs A, Freehamlet Saint, Pale fawn bitch, well-made throughout. She has a good front assembly with pleasing depth and fill. Slight spring to pasterns, with ribbing carried well back. Good width through first and second thigh, though her topline is a little flatter than I would prefer. Moved soundly.

Open (8)

1st Jones Mrs K & Mr J Jothryn Jonny Be Good JW, Brindle dog, who I had previously awarded Best Puppy. He has a classical head with rose ears and a good reach of neck flowing into well-placed shoulders with excellent return of upper arm. Slight spring of pasterns and neat feet complement his front assembly. Ribbing is carried well back, with a strong loin and well-proportioned first and second thigh. Hindquarters are well-angled and powerful. He moves very well both fore and aft, and truly excelled in profile, showing reach, drive, and effortless ground coverage.

2nd Edwins, Mrs V, Vdh Jun Ch Chummy Browne Of Poet’s Corner, Brindle bitch, presenting a pleasing picture when standing. She has a classical head, well-laid shoulders, and a good amount of ribbing. Strong through the loin, with well-angulated hindquarters. She moved satisfactorily, though was a little unsettled due to having a different handler. On the move, she was slightly close behind when viewed fore and aft
