I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge Best in Show at this well-run show. I was given a lovely selection of dogs to choose from, but I found my Best in Show was the beautiful Briard Gardener’s Tigra De Los Niegos To Carson (IMP ESP) a young black bitch, so full of quality. Lovely balance and in full bloom, super head and expression, correct head proportions, good ear set, strong muzzle, strong arched neck, going into well laid shoulders, strong parallel front, lovely rib cage with good depth, strong topline and tail set which she held correctly on the move, pleasing rear with correct turn of stifle, lovely and sound on the move. Close up to her was the super Tibetan Spaniel Bevis’ Ch Skyvana Empty Dreams of Starlance ShCEx lovely for size & shape. Masculine head displaying correct oval eye shape & good pigment. Well placed ears. So good to go over, well-made throughout. Good front & neck length, excellent shoulder placement firm topline good tail set, well-muscled hind quarters. On the move he has good reach and drive and is ever so sound. He was also my Best Champion in Show.
BPIS was a very smart Border Terrier Wain’s - Itsaso A Beacon of Hope Lovely proportions & size on this young lady. Super head and keen eye. Moderate reach of neck and well angulated forequarters. Firm level topline with correct tailset & carroty tail. Neat feet on thick pads. Good thick pelt & correctly textured coat. Racy, well-muscled hindquarters. Moved well & covered the ground with ease. RBPIS went to the merry Cocker Spaniel Masters & Dott - Manchela Sister Sledge blue roan bitch, with a gorgoeus head and expression, good neck flowing into super front, nice depth of chest, good strong top line, well-turned stifle with good muscle tone, moved well with drive and very soundly & stood on good tight feet.
BVIS went to the impressive BSD (Tervueren), Stansbury’s Ch/HRV Ch Domburg By Appointment at Woodbriar ShCEx, 7-year-old male of excellent quality. Masculine and powerful appearance while still retaining the breed’s elegance. Excellent body shape, top and underline and moderate angulations. Obliquely set, dark, almond shaped eye. Small ears, well set, of excellent shape and well used. Coat in excellent condition. Moved out so soundly with a lovely profile action. RBVIS was awarded to Anscombe’s Gateway French Navy Avec Orangebox VW quality Border Terrier bitch through and through. Feminine head and keen expression, firm strong neck, good front and rear angulation, good depth of chest and spring of ribs. Correct coat texture and good thick pelt. Moved so well and ever so soundly.

1st) Partridge’s Pettigans Viva La Vida by Riverroyal 20 month old, feminine bitch with a well balanced outline, has the long conical head & well set eyes, giving a good keen expression, strong neck & good front, well sprung in rib & good oval chest, well rounded in rump, in good coat & well muscled. Moved well and soundly.
2nd) Turton’s Bay of Biscoff Biscuit at Damoradaxies, stronger made dog and a little longer in back than I would like. Masculine head with keen expression. Excellent keel and depth of chest. Short in ribbing and long in loin. Sound enough on the move, could just have more enthusiasm.

1st) Hanney-Mitchells Dachyclan Larena at Bronia (Imp Aus) TAF, pretty feminine bitch with a lovely outline and shape. Decent head proportions but could have a little more strength to muzzle. Super eye. Lovely to go over with everything flowing into place. Good front and rear angulations. Excellent topline and tailset. Presented in super condition and moved out well and soundly. BOB.
2nd) Burley & Way’s Swansford Almadora, dark shaded red bitch, similar in size and shape as 1 but not as positive in front. Lovely head, with keen eye and expression and well set ears. Good spring of rib, set well back. Well angulated and muscled rear. Moved out soundly, a little narrow in front, with a good profile action.

1st) Way’s Ralines Ways and Means JW 21 month old cream bitch that presents a good overall shape when standing. Lovely head of the correct proportions. Decent forequarters with just enough neck. Good topline and tail set with a good spring of rib. Moved out soundly. Good coat.
2nd) Westaway’s Minard Whispering Angel at Treranch 15 month bitch of a nice overall type. Good shape when standing. Head of the correct proportions with well set ears. Well bodied with good ribbing. Moved out soundly and with a good profile action.

1st) Small’s Minard Darque Red for Devondax JW, comfortable winner in this entry today and one I was very impressed with. Very typical male with so much to like. Excellent shape and overall balance. Super head and eye. Enough neck and decent forequarters. Super keel. Elbows tight to chest and neat feet. Good ribbing set well back into a short loin. Excellent topline and tail set. A real show off on the move striding out soundly with a lovely action in profile. Superbly presented and handled.
2nd) Bater’s Daxiemoors Flower Girl, feminine B/T bitch with a good overall shape. Nice head and eye. OK for neck, a little narrow in forechest. Good ribs, set well back. Well-muscled rear. Moved out with confidence.

1st) Parker’s Luckytails Skye of Zorionadax, 12 month B/T bitch, impressed for her overall shape and balance. Excellent head with correct conical shape and dark eye giving her a lovely expression. Excellent front construction with tight elbows. Good rear. Moved out soundly and with a lovely profile action. BOB
2nd) Rycroft’s Chidax Sahara Sand by Trisensara JW head of good shape & well set eye, just preferred the expression of 1, ears set high & of correct size, good ribbing & correct in loin, nice feet, moved well and soundly, tail well set & carried correctly, good coat & well presented.

1st) Rycroft’s Jacksondax Hornet Hurrah at Trisensara JW ShCEx OSW b/t dog, lovely head shape with good eye & expression, correct body proportions with excellent keel, good feet & moved out well fore & aft, tail well set, good length & carriage, lovely coat & in excellent hard condition.
2nd) Ashby’s Rayol Dallas Cowboys at Jaxinorydax nice overall shape & in good body. Typical expression & has well set ears, in good body with correct ribbing, firm in loin, good coat & firm fit condition.

1st) Gardner’s Vanitonia Sabina Pleasure, 8 month B/T - excellent head properties, super reach of neck onto well laid shoulders, prominent forechest, well ribbed with good depth of chest, short loin, hindquarters well-muscled, good turn of stifle, moved sound and true – lovely girl of ideal size. Pleased to see her awarded PG1
2nd) Small’s Stargang Morrissey for Devondax another lovely prospect with many of the same attributes as the winner and at first glance I thought would be the winner of this class but unfortunately he flagged his tail too high when moving.
Special Yearling (3,1abs)
1st) Small’s Glynythe’s Heirloom for Devondax JW a super quality red bitch who is soundly constructed all through having a balanced profile and possessing an attractive head both in shape and expression. Well-made front and forequarters with legs well under and nice tight elbows and ideal width all through. Body has good spring, depth and is ribbed well enough back with a firm top line with good angulations front and rear and width behind. Moved out with a free true action and the confidence of maturity. RBOB and RBOB in Show.
2nd) Wilkinson & Wakeham’s Bronia’s Antonetta for Wakywilks, another quality girl with so much to like. Super head and eye. Not the front construction of the winner being somewhat shorter in neck and upright in shoulder. Good ribbing and body. Well made and muscled rear. Moved out with a free true action.

1st) Wilkinson & Wakeham’s Bronia Gabriel for Wakywilks JW a super shaped red dog who has a handsome breed typical head set well on a strong good length neck. Soundly constructed in front with ideal angulation. Excellent in body make and shape with pleasing spring of rib and being ribbed well back with strong loin and firm top-line. Stable firm parallel good width hindquarters Moved with free purposeful extension in front and good width parallel rear action. Pleased to award him BOB.
2nd) Small’s Lois Lane Cheky’s Hojanmit (Imp FCA) pleasing overall construction presenting a well-balanced all in proportion appearance. A good honest bitch with nothing in exaggeration. Head of pleasing shape and attractive in look and expression. Well-made front and forequarters, tight elbows, good length body and nicely angulated front and rear. Free moving and true action when settled. Just needs to firm up her under carriage.

1st) Wills’ Kasalane Pitersite, raw 6 month old but best for make and overall shape in this class. Good head and keen eye. Well-made throughout with good angulation fore and aft. Good coat and texture. Still a little unsettled on the move but was sound when got going.
2nd) Wills’ Kasalane Apache’s Star, litter sister to one and not quite the substance and bone as of yet. Head of good proportions and decent eye. Correctly textured coat. Moved ok but again needs time to settle.

1st) Kilroy’s Do Smartie’s at Janacop 18 month with a good shape. Lovely head and good expression. Correct keel with good depth to chest. Enough neck and decent forequarters. Good ribbing set well back into a short loin. Decent rear with good muscle. Moved well. Coat presented well. BOB

1st) Kilroy’s Rozelle Rosalie at Janacop JW 21 month old with a lovely harsh jacket. Very nice head of the correct proportions with good eye. Slightly narrow in chest, which also shows in her movement. Good overall balance and shape. Well-muscled rear. Moved well.

1st) Bethell’s Muliebrity Sun Burst, 6 month baby attending her first show and still has a bit to learn. Good head with keen expression, strong arched neck leading into a strong back and excellent topline which was kept on the move, correct tail set and carriage. When she got into her stride she moved out positively but still needs some more practice.

1st)Webber’s Kaolin Little Miss Fabulous, decent bitch of a good size and compact in outline. Liked her well-proportioned head, which had good head planes and length. Good depth to the brisket and straight forelimbs onto tight feet. Body well developed, carrying a little too much weight. Moved out and back ok. BOB

1st) Moore & Chudleigh’s Devleigh Papa Don’t Preach, 15 month old showing herself off to advantage to give a most appealing outline. She is graceful and balanced with a good height to length ratio. Feminine head with good depth and length, her lengthy neck flowing well into shoulders. Horseshoe front, straight forelegs, nicely arch over the loin. Well-muscled hind quarters. Shown with a good coat texture. On the move not too positive behind, but shows a lovely mincing gait, holding her topline, and well carried tail. BOB, G4

2nd) Mitchell’s Tarkatale Starseeker, 7 year bitch of a good overall size and shape. Feminine otter head with good width to the back skull, sound bite, good length of neck and depth to the brisket. Moderate rear. Moved out well for her young handler.

1st)Waycott’s Archtype Tosheroon for Waybully JW, 2 year old bitch who was the most together in this class. Impressive outline. Well balanced and compact with strength all through. Shapely well filled in head, with a correctly shaped dark eye. Strong deep body, chest well let down and lovely spring to the ribs, firm topline, well-muscled moderately angulated hindquarters. Moved out with purpose.
2nd) Goodearl & Hockin’s Razors Edge Rib Tickler upstanding year-old male, with a great presence. Strong and long head, well filled in and shapely, ears were erect and well placed. Good strength and depth through the body. Well boned limbs onto tight feet. Good width of thigh and bend of stifle. Moved well once settled but was very full of himself.

1st) Waycott’s Teirwgwyn Miss Hazel of Waybully JW A strongly built powerful bitch of correct size. Egg shape to her strong head which has good length, strong under jaw. Her eyes are dark and are placed obliquely appearing triangular in shape giving a bright expression. Good front with sloping shoulders covered with strong muscle and plenty of bone to her forelegs that are parallel to each other. Well-rounded body with well sprung ribs. Short length to her back and powerful well-muscled loin. Good bend of stifle to her rear and well developed, muscular first and second thighs. Nice compact round feet with arched toes. She moved easily around the ring with good reach in front and drive from behind. BOB & G2
2nd) Pope’s Villensia Pink Grapefruit at Tegenbull, 4 year old powerful bitch with a good overall make and shape. Excellent head of the correct shape with obliquely set eyes giving a keen expression. Well bodied. Excellent bone and feet. Moved OK just not as accurate as the winner.

1st) Marshallsay’s Ch Risibully Have You Seen Her with Fergustaff JW Beautiful eye-catching and shapely bitch. Lovely long head with a sweeping profile. Very well made throughout. Good length of neck and excellent well laid shoulder. Very good straight forelegs with excellent round bone. Strong muscular quarters with well bent stifles. Moved freely both ways with long powerful strides. In stunning condition, she never stopped showing and I had no hesitation in awarding her BOB & G1.

1st) Kirkby’s Mindlen Kuba, 19 month oldwell balanced boy. Strong well shaped head with good ear shape & carriage, keen expression. Good length of neck. Well laid shoulders with a slight rise over the loin. Rib well placed & of the right length. Well angulated rear with good muscle tone. Thick pelt & correct topcoat, spanned easily. Moved out well.
2nd) Mitchell, Mitchell & Manson’s Foxfur Espinonage for Rodzina, 8 month old, smart pup with lots to like. Good shape and substance. Decent head and expression with keen eye. Tidy ears used to advantage. Straight forelegs with good bone and tidy feet. Spannable and with a good pelt. Moved out well just needs to firm in front

1st) Marshallsay’s Fergustaff Tudor Legacy excellent balance and construction. Super strength all through. Correctly proportioned head with good width to the backskull and depth, dark round eye, and pronounced cheeks. Strength to the neck flowing into a firm level topline, short coupled and well set on pump handle tail. His well boned limbs carrying him around the ring with power and being true. Shown in super muscle tone. BOB.

1st) Rose’s Carradine All Ways a Chance, 16 month old Cairn Terrier, good head shape, dark eye giving a lovely expression. Strong well-made body with good depth and ribs, lovely legs and feet. Correct harsh coat which needs a bit of work. Sound on the move with good tail action. BAVNSC
