Border Counties Gundog Club 4th May 2025 Irish Water Spaniels Thank you to the committee for inviting me. A super show, very well organised and a fantastic venue. Many thanks to the exhibitors for their entries and accepting my decisions with good sportsmanship. Lastly thanks to my stewards Reagan & Kirsty, keeping everything running smoothly. P (1) 1st Davies & Davies Stanegate the Sweetest thing at Shelseivad 7mth male. Smart boy with lovely profile. Head is developing nicely with good eye colour and correct ear set. Strong, arched neck into well laid shoulders. Good width & depth of chest for age. Correct proportions through the body. Well angled rear. Coat coming through nicely with good texture and developing curls and ringlets. Lovely big feet. Moved well when settled, he was clearly enjoying his day. Handled with patience. BPIB Sp.Y. (4/1) 1st McBurnies Bogbairns Sweet Afton 13mth bitch. One I have judged before and as a slow maturing breed and she is coming on at just a nice pace. Sweet feminine head, intelligent expression. Pleasing eye colour and low set ears. She is well angled throughout, developing nicely in body and rib. Moved out well with drive. Coat coming through with lovely texture and crisp curls. 2nd Foody’s Carteila Roll of the Dice 17mth Male. Upstanding boy with a pleasing profile. Developing well throughout, shown in hard condition. Moved out with drive. Well handled. L (2/1) 1st Hackett & Williams Woodrocks Marla Mabel at Foulby 2.5yr bitch. Super feminine bitch, pretty head with good eye colour & shape. Low set ears of good length. Strong neck into well laid shoulders, deep in chest with correct width. Good barrel rib. Well angled rear, moved with drive. Well handled. O (2) 1st Hackett & Williams Sh Ch Curlyco My Hot Rockstar. 7yr old male. Another I have judged previously and he does not disappoint. This showman never stops, his ring presence is undeniable. Balanced throughout with a pleasing profile, his movement is fluid and powerful. Even with a change of handler for the challenge this boy owned the ring. Pleased to award him BOB. 2nd Weaving Ir Sh Ch Stanegate Cast a Spell CW24 AN CH 24. 4yr old bitch. My notes say unlucky to meet 1. Very balanced in profile, good head with pleasing eye.
