West Of England Scottish Terrier Club

West of England Scottish Terrier Club

13th April 2025

My thanks to the Committee for inviting me to attend this show. It ran smoothly and the exhibitors were vey sociable. My thanks also to my steward who was on the ball. It confirmed to me that Scottish Terriers are definitely a big dog in a small body.

Special Triers Dog/Bitch. 4, (1a). Petmon Royal Ruffian. JW. Black dog of good quality. Proportionately build and appeared fit. Strong foreface and head of equal proportions. Dark eye and scissor bite. Laid back shoulders. Level topline with tail well set. Deep brisket. Double coat. Short coupling and angulation in the right places. Moved straight, parallel with reach and drive. RBD. 2. Kamaristol Ice Ice Baby. Wheaten coloured bitch. Very confident and light on her feet. All things in the right place but would prefer shorter coupling and more coat.

Minor Puppy Dog 3(1a). 1. Berrybreeze Wisdom. Black dog of proportionate build. Head of nice proportions with dark eye and prick ears. Moderate neck. Short coupling and level topline. Coat of correct texture. Moved straight and freely. Stands with the rear legs a little forward. 2. Kamaristol Ericson for Pamaswater. Brindle. Attractive dog with a longer coat. Things in the right places but needs a bit more maturity to body up.

Puppy Dog. 2(1a). 1. Berrybreeze Soul Man. Black dog. Unexaggerated build of strength, Head strong, muscular neck and level topline. Harsh double coat. Tail carried well. Deep chest and well angulated. Perpendicular parallel legs. Unsteady on the move this time but this changed later to proper straight reach and drive. BPD.

Junior Dog. 5(3a). 1. Chatterdale Unique Star at Brazenhill. Black dog Unexaggerated with well set ears, strong head and dark eye. Neck led to laid back shoulders and level topline. Tail carried well. Deep chest and strong quarters. Short coupled. Balanced mover with drive. 2. Divadell Mighty Quinn. Black coat of correct texture. Of very similar qualities and make up as 1. Lacked the balance and drive though.

Graduate Dog. 4(1a). 1. Petmon Royal Ruffian. JW. 2. Divadell Mighty Quinn.

Limit Dog. 3(1a). 1. Tout Nouveau Tout Beau Du Clan Des Petits Colonels Kamaristol. JW. ShCEx. Brindle coated and at first sight appeared compact and muscular. Proportionate head, strong quality neck, laid back shoulders and level topline. Deep chest, short coupling and angulated. Harsh double coat of good texture. Perpendicular legs with low hocks. Had ring presence and showed off on the move with balance and drive. Nice. BD. 2. Pamaswater Hakuna Makata. Black Dog. Nice looking dog with short coupling. Finer built and could have had a stronger chest to give better front movement. Double coated, low hocks, level topline.

Minor Puppy Bitch. 1. Kamaristol Ice Ice Baby.

Puppy Bitch. Honeypaws Isn’t She Lovely. Black. Things were all in the right place with set on ears, dark eye and scissor bite. Proportionate head leading to level topline. Deep chest. Angulated with low hocks. Moved straight and true. Double coat of quality. Aa bit more maturity in build would have completed the picture. BPB.

Junior Bitch. 5(2a). 1. Berrybreeze She’s the One. Bitch with harsh double coat. Long head with set on ears, dark eye and scissor bite. Neck led to laid back shoulders and level topline. Deep chest, short coupling and perpendicular legs. Moved straight with drive. Balanced. RBB. 2. Honeypaws Shake it off. Black bitch with mutch the same qualities as 1. Long head, dark eye, set ears and moderate neck. Deep chest and sufficient angulation. On the move, although true, lacked a little drive giving the appearance of being rear high.

Novice Bitch. 2(1a) Kamondale Winter Soldier. Wheaten bitch. Longer caste. Double coated but could have more undercarriage. Correct head with prick ears and longer neck. Level topline, laid-back shoulders and deep chest. Angulated and moved with reach and drive. Had a good personality.

Graduate Bitch. 5. 1. Rilynson Hi Time Gall. Well made black bitch with deep chest and perpendicular legs. Sufficient angulation. Feminine head with dark eye, not too narrow between the ears. Neck led to level topline and good tail carriage. Short coupling and moved straight with drive. 2. Carisco Return Amber to Petmon. Black with harsh double coat. Long head with set on prick ears. Level topline. Deep chest and sufficient angulation. Moved with reach and drive but not quite the balance of 1.

Deep chest and straight legs with nice angulation. Short coupled. Low hocks. Showed well. When moving had balance with reach and drive. BB. 2. Fier Amour Cosmique of Wiselds. Black harsh double coat. Strong head, level topline and deep chest. Angulated. Moved with reach and drive. Would have preferred a cleaner neck.

Open Bitch. 3(1a). 1. Glengracie Mainikiki at Rilynson. Black coat of double texture. Strong head with dark eye and good dentition. Muscular neck, level topline. Deep chest and perpendicular legs. Angulated. Moved straight with reach and drive. The rear was a little unbalanced though. 2. Kamondale Winter Soldier.
