Scarborough & District Canine Association Open Show - Sunday 29th June
Judge: Kelly Hampton-Lee (Kelrick)
I would like to thank the Committee of Scarborough & District Canine Association for inviting me to judge various Toy breeds at their Centenary show. It was a lovely show with a real summer fete atmosphere. It was a pleasure to go over so many quality dogs and I greatly appreciated the sporting attitude and positive spirit of everyone who entered under me – your support made the day all the more rewarding. A special thank you also goes to my steward, Karen Wilson, for keeping the ring running smoothly and efficiently throughout the day, particularly in the challenging windy conditions.
King Charles
Sp Y (1,0) 1. Maddison’s Mitapip Macallan. 8-month-old Black & Tan puppy dog with a lively and spirited character and abundance of personality. He had large, dark, lustrous eyes that are well spaced. Correct slightly undershot bite. Coat was well presented, with rich glossy black and bright mahogany-tan markings. He moved with enthusiasm, though erratically at times. BPIB
L (1,0) 1. Morley’s Baldragon Dream Chaser at Lizlanmor JW. 22-month-old Tricolour dog. Compact, cobby outline with correct short back and well-sprung rib, giving a sturdy and stylish silhouette. Beautifully presented coat of well-broken black on a pearly white ground, with rich tan clearly evident. Head is a particular strength - large and well domed, with low-set, well-feathered ears framing an appealing face. Large dark eyes are set well apart, giving a pleasing expression. Correctly undershot with a black nose and wide, open nostrils. Well-laid shoulders and moderate angulation. He moved exceptionally well, covering the ground freely and true both coming and going, maintaining his outline at all times. A quality young male. BOB
O (2,0) 1. Bailey’s Aldoricka The Hustler. 3-year-old Blenheim dog. A well-balanced and pleasing exhibit. Displays a domed head with low-set ears framing a typical expression. Well-broken, rich chestnut markings on a pearly white background. Slightly undershot, with sufficient cushioning to the muzzle. Moved well around the ring, maintaining his outline and showing good drive from behind. RBOB
