125th Anniversary Show

Sunday 21st September.

Many thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge their 125th anniversary show, congratulations on such a wonderful achievement. I had an enjoyable day, thank you to the stewards for their smooth running of the ring and special thanks to the exhibitors for their much-appreciated entries.

Cocker Spaniel:

Puppy: 2(1). 1st: Walton’s Chataway Let’s Jive, 9-month-old black dog, I liked this puppy a lot, such a beautiful well-balanced head, male with no hint of coarseness, square muzzle, the right amount of stop and a kind melting expression from his beautiful dark eyes. Balanced in outline, compact, correct lay of shoulder, short coupled with good spring of rib for his age. He moved happily with drive and bustle. Good bone and feet. Well presented, in lovely coat and condition. Best Puppy in Breed and Reserve Best of Breed.

Junior 2(2)

Post Graduate 5: 1st Terry’s Shaggylands Midnight Train JW, 18-month blue roan dog, cobby & well balanced in outline, strong masculine head with dark eye, moderate length of neck, super depth of rib, brisket and forechest, well boned and well-muscled hind quarters, moved well with good tail action. In full coat, well presented. 2nd Crawford’s Totenkopf Dutch Double Deuce into Binibeca, 2-year-old black young lady, very pretty feminine head well balanced, dark eyes. Good bone and feet, Good forechest with good spring of ribs and short loin. Moved well, coat well presented. 3rd Palmer’s Sandanca Lionheart to Colmeir.

Open 3: 1st Sinclair’s Chataway Dress Tartan at Dulcarus JW ShCex OSW, 4 years old black young lady, presented in beautiful coat and condition. Very feminine head with kind dark eye and balanced skull and muzzle. so well balanced in outline both on the move and stacked. Good angulation fore and aft. Scored on forechest and depth of rib. Well boned, tight feet and well-muscled, sound on the move. Best of Breed. 2nd Walton’s Annaside Let’s Dance, 5-year-old black male. Well presented, balanced head and soft expression, good depth of ribs, straight front, short in loin with good angulation and layback of shoulder. Sound on the move. 3rd Cox’s Kimapa Kune Kinch

English Springer Spaniel:

Junior 2(1) 1st Calvert’s Elazlan Elle For Leather, 9-month liver and white young lady, a super puppy so eye catching in outline and in profile on the move. Head so feminine and well balanced, well chiselled below her eyes with gentle expression. Strong bone with no coarseness, good length to neck with good forechest and depth of rib. Excels in front and rear angulation with well laid shoulder and moderate bend to stifle. Well-muscled rear. Beautifully presented. Delighted to see her awarded Reserve Best Puppy in Show, congratulations. Best Puppy in Breed, Reserve Best of Breed, Gundog Puppy Group 1 and Reserve Best Puppy in Show.

Post graduate 1: Calvert’s Chanangel Yorkshire Honey, 13-month-old young lady, liver and white. Lovely balanced head, gentle almond eyes, well chiselled. Super forechest, ribs developing well. Good bone, feet and rear angulation with good drive. Short in loin, in good muscular condition. Well presented.

Open 3: 1st Richardson & Terry-Richardson’s Sh Ch Cherishym Dofida, 5-year-old black and white male, in full bloom. Gentle masculine head without coarseness, nicely fluted foreface, dark almond eye, long muscular neck, ribs well sprung, elbows well tucked in, muscular short loin, nicely angulated rear. Shown in lovely coat and condition. Moved soundly on strong round feet. Best of Breed. 2nd Chandler’s Music of the Night. 5-year-old tri, very feminine, super bone and feet, feminine balanced head and soft expression, good length of neck and depth of rib and well laid shoulder. Held her shape and outline on the move, lovely presentation, moved very well for her young handler, sympathetically handled. 3rd Richardson & Terry -Richardson’s Daenerys Moondancer to Cherishym

Spanish Water Dog

Junior 1 1st Hodgkinson-Rutherford & Rutherford’s Cooishka Girl on Fire From Chanderhill, 6-month-old young lady at her second show and showed beautifully. Black & white, proportionate head, dark eye, super bone and feet, short neck straight front. Coat woolly with good curl. Moved out soundly with confidence. Best Puppy in Breed and Reserve Best of Breed. Delighted to see her awarded Gundog Puppy Group 2, congratulations.

Open 2 (1) 1st Hodgkinson-Rutherford & Rutherford’s Sh Ch Doji Smogetsu Twinkle You Tinkerbell At Chanderhill, 2 year black & white young lady, feminine head with flat skull with slightly shorter foreface. Nicely set oblique dark eyes. Short strong neck, elbows well tucked in, balanced angulation front and rear. Super forechest and depth of rib to brisket. Dense woolly corded coat. Sound active mover. Best of Breed. Delighted to see her awarded Gundog Group 2, congratulations.
