I would like to thank Sheringham and District for the opportunity to do my first judging appointment at their Premier Open Show. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors who entered under me. And a thank you to my wonderful steward on the day, who helped keep the ring flowing quickly.

Puppy

1. Ms L F White’s - Caronlea Celtic Charmer at Joemarlea (IKC)

8-month-old, Red Merle male of good size. Head is coming together nicely but just needs a little more time, which he has plenty of. Almond shaped eyes, showing a lovely expression. An incredibly happy boy with a wonderful temperament. Lovely pigmentation for this age. Nice shoulder construction, leading into good, strong pasterns and tight feet. Good bone for his age offsetting a lovely outline. Good width and depth of chest leading into a slightly longer loin than preferred. Ok length to height ratio. Moderate rear angles, which balances with his front. Once this young dog had settled, he moved with an easy side action. He did challenge his handler a little today, but they dealt with him well, getting him to settle quickly. Topline should tighten up as he ages. Looking forward to seeing how he matures. Pleased to award him BPIB.

Special Yearling

1. Mrs P Morley’s - Trijem Double Dash of Magic

13-month-old, Blue Merle male, NBT. Beautiful clean-cut head that oozes with masculinity and shows a fantastic alert and keen expression. Stop is well-defined. Correct, rich pigmentation. Correct bite and lovely button ears of good size and set. Correct scissor bite. Eyes are of correct almond shape, set obliquely. Strong neck leads into well laid-back shoulders. Feet are tight of correct oval shape. Muscular with moderate bone. Chest deep with good spring of ribs, leading into a nice length of loin. Topline is level and firm and held strong on the move. Lovely turn of stifle. Free, Easy, balanced action on the move with nice reach and drive. Moves straight fore and aft with correct convergence. Coat is of correct texture and length. Slightly longer than he is tall. Moderation is shown throughout this young dog, nothing is overdone. Versatile. Can see this dog doing a days work. Awarded BOB and pleased to hear he placed Pastoral Group 3. Can see a promising future for this young dog.

Limit

1. Mr K Wilson, Mrs L Wilson & Miss S Gibbons’ - Wispafete Causing A Ripple

2-year-old, Black Tri Bitch, NBT. Beautiful outline on this bitch. Screams femininity. Just needs to mature a little more in muzzle. Almond eyes, leading to a beautiful alert expression. Lovely high set ears of correct length. Well arched neck, leading into a firm topline. Correct length of rib and depth of chest, leading into lovely short loin. Straight in front with well arched, oval feet. Moderate bone. Excellent rear angulation, well-muscled, matching her front angles. Coat is of correct texture, presented in excellent condition. Sound on the move, maintaining topline, though could show a touch more reach to complete the picture. A very versatile bitch, who I could see doing a days work. Pleased to award RBOB. Can see this bitch with a really bright future.

2. Mrs L F White’s - Franmar Devils Desire at Joemarlea

4-year-old Black Tri dog, NBT. Male of correct type. He has a masculine head, showing correct proportions with well-defined stop. Kind expression. Ears are well set and used to advantage. Neck is of good length, flowing into a strong, level topline. Good spring of rib and depth of chest. He is balanced on the move, covering the ground well, but front action not entirely clean. Would like him to stand a shade truer on front. Has correct moderate bone with compact, well-arched feet. Coat is of correct water-resistant texture.
