I took over the judging of Irish Wolfhounds, Whippets and Dobermanns from Aibing Zhao who unfortunately was unable to attend the show due to a family bereavement.

Irish Wolfhound

J 1

1Crosse’s Cairnstorm Lullaby. BOB. Well-constructed throughout with good bone and excellent length of head. Nice ratio of skull to muzzle with muzzle of good length. Dark, expressive eyes; good furnishings on head. Excellent lay of shoulder & return of upperarm. Good spring of rib & depth of chest. Strong, arched loin. Excellent width of upper & lower thigh; well let-down hocks. Moved well both coming and going. Harsh coat texture.

1 Hunter’s Katiesue’s Attraction At Salatini. Best Puppy & Hound Puppy Group 2. Very nice 6-month-old puppy. Lovely typical outline. Good bone throughout. Pleasing length of head; dark expressive eyes. Powerful jaw & flat skull. Good length of neck & depth of chest. Well sprung ribcage for age. Excellent width of upper & lower thigh; well let down hocks. Moved soundly both coming and going, on well-arched feet.

1 Scullion’s Pelyma Surely I’m Striking. Pretty head with flat skull. Nice expressive eye. Good earset and shape of ear. Excellent angulation fore & aft; good depth of chest. Nice topline. Just needs to mature in body all through, but has plenty of time. Moved soundly fore & aft.

1 Earnshaw’s Plamik Know What I Like At Moonshadow. JW. RBOB. Caught my eye on the first move around the ring. Really covered the ground freely. Masculine head with nice eye, good muzzle & skull shape; nothing overdone. Excellent forechest; well-muscled throughout. Excellent depth of chest & spring of rib. Good topline with well -muscled, strong loin. Excellent bend of stifle & well let down hocks. Moved soundly.

2 Smith’s Palmik I Believe In You At Cryhavoc. Very feminine with enough substance. Lovely head, eye & expression. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Well let-down hocks. Good depth of chest and nice top line. Moved well on tight, well-arched feet.

3 Wilson’s Baughton Busy Lizzie For Hamiltonhill.

1 Edwards’s Silkridge Yoko Ohno. BOB. Hound Group 2. Won here on general outline which was very typical displaying the required graceful arch over the loin. Good length of head with bright expressive eye. Nice ratio of muzzle to skull. Excellent length & strength of neck. Good forechest. Well-muscled throughout. Excellent angulation fore & aft; good spring of rib and well let-down hocks. Good strength over loin. Strode out well on the move and shown in lovely coat and condition.

2 Hunter’s Dapperdiva Sugar & Spice At Salatini. Feminine expression. Not quite the forechest or topline of 1. Nice bone, good depth of chest, pleasing width of upper & lower thigh. Well let-down hocks. Moved soundly both coming & going.

1 Husk’s Xentader’s Amazing Grace. BOB. A lovely example of the breed. Very well-constructed throughout with nice bone & so well grown for age. Good length of head. Nice eye & alert expression. Good strength of muzzle & skull. Ears set on high and held well. Sufficient strength & length of neck. Excellent lay of shoulder & return of upperarm. Good depth of chest, straight topline with slight slope from withers to croup & correct tail set. Well let-down hocks. Coat of good condition & colour. Moved freely and soundly, really covering the ground well.

1 Gallagher’s Manzart Excalibur At Izralight. JW. RBOB. Another lovely dog, just preferred the outline and rear angulation of my BOB. Well-balanced masculine head held well. Good width of skull & muzzle. Nice eye & expression. Small ears set on well. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Good length & strength of neck; nice depth of chest. Good width of upper & lower thigh. Strong loin and tail set on well. Excellent, compact, well arched feet. Excellent bone throughout. Moved soundly covering the ground well. Coat of nice colour & condition.

1 Land & Gitten’s Artisticm Love Tinted Dream (IMP POL). Best Puppy & BOB. Well grown for age. Nice eye & expression. Lovely triangular ear shape with ears set on high. Excellent lay of shoulder & return of upperarm. Good depth of chest & spring of rib. Short, strong and broad loin. Well-muscled throughout. Good bone & compact feet. Moved soundly and freely both coming and going. Coat of good texture with nice undercoat. Topline held well on the move.

1 Woods & Boorman’s Vixenview Top Tier At Wayward. Nice young bitch with good size of head & correct ratio of skull to muzzle. Dark open nose. Nice eye & expression. Good lay of shoulder & return of upperarm. Nice depth of chest & ribcage. Good length of leg, being longer than depth of body. Harsh coat texture. Moved soundly with nice tail action.

1 Woods & Boorman’s Wayward Rumble. Best Puppy. RBOB. Puppy Group 2. Very nice young dog with lovely coat. Masculine head, well-proportioned with just a little cheek present. Expressive, dark eye, flat skull. Good set-on of ears which he used well. Sufficient spring of rib; muscular, slightly arched loin. Nice rear angulation. Moved soundly when settled.

1 Woods & Boorman’s Vixenview Sugar and Spice. Lovely smart mover with nice tail carriage. Nicely defined cheeks but not overdone. Sufficient strength of muzzle & skull. Well-muscled throughout. Good length of leg, being slightly longer than depth of body. Sufficient spring of ribcage. Harsh, close coat.

1 Woods & Boorman’s Wayward Timeless JW. BOB. Group 4. Lovely dog with well-balanced outline. Nice length of body & length of leg. Good bone & feet. Very nice masculine head. Dark eye with intelligent expression. Good ratio of skull length to muzzle length. Black nose and good pigmentation throughout. Nice small, v-shaped ears set on well. Excellent lay of shoulder, spring of rib & length of rib cage. Pleasing width of well-muscled upper & lower thigh. Moved well both coming and going. Quality, rough coat.

Cesky Terrier

1 Burrage’s Lojza Garex (IMP CZE). Such a shame that this lovely dog is uncomfortable in the ring but I did notice a slight improvement since I last judged him so hopefully he will grow in confidence. Nice wedge head, dark open nose & correct length of muzzle to skull. Almost flat skull; nice ear set. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Good spring of rib & depth of chest. Nice bone & correct topline. Well-muscled upper thigh. Good tail set. Lovely coat. Moved well during the short time that he was more relaxed.

1 Samson’s Silak Never Miss A Beat. Lovely, typical outline. Good length of head. Nice earset & shape; dark, expressive eyes. Sufficient width of muzzle & skull. Skull nearly flat; good pigmentation throughout. Good lay of shoulder & return of upperarm. Nice forechest; good spring of rib & correct topline. Nice width of upper & lower thigh. Moved well both coming and going. Coat of good texture with silky sheen.

1 Samson’s Ch Silak Shasgav Sound of Silence. ShCM. ShCEx. BOB. Terrier Group 1. Won here on overall outline & smaller ear shape & set. Nice wedge-shaped head. Muzzle & skull of sufficient length & width. Pleasing head furnishings. Dark eye; fairly flat skull. Lovely ear shape and ears held well. Excellent front angulation with strong, straight forelegs. Good reach and strength of neck; correct topline & well-sprung ribcage. Good width of upper & lower thigh. Silky coat of good colour. Moved soundly both coming and going on well-arched feet.

2 Burrage’s Komidion Sonata For Sametova JW. RBOB. Another lovely example of the breed, larger in the head & ears than 1. Excellent length and strength of neck. Pleasing front & rear angulation. Good spring of rib and correct topline. Lovely shiny coat of good texture. Nice width of upper & lower thigh. Covered the ground well on the move.

1 Samson & Crawley’s Ragus Monday Morning. Norwich Terrier. Best AVNSC Terrier Puppy. Puppy Group 3. Just over 6 months old but had all the essentials. Pleasing compact outline & shown in excellent coat and condition. Nice earset & shape with ears held well. Well-balanced in head. Nice eye & expression. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Good spring of rib & depth of chest; well let-down hocks. Pleasing tailset and tail carried well on the move. Moved soundly & with an air of confidence.

2 Bell’s Black Lace Come Fly With Me To Belyndi ( FIN). Australian Terrier. Lovely in outline with sufficient length of head & expressive, dark eye. Ears of good shape and size, held well when concentrating. Good length of leg compared to length of body with length of body being longer than height. Harsh outer coat with soft undercoat. High tailset & carriage. Moved well both coming and going.

3 Witmond’s Urananus Essence of the Sun at Tiltser. Jack Russell Terrier.

1 Johns’s Dohoci Cariad. Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Nice square and compact outline. Well-balanced head with skull and muzzle of correct ratios with muzzle being slightly shorter than length of skull. Dark hazel eyes; large black open nose. Nice ear shape & carriage. Good length and strength of neck. Sufficient spring of rib & strong over short loin. Profuse coat of soft texture. Moved soundly.

1 Salmon’s Obi Wan Kenobi of Kindergarten at Seasmolt. Sealyham Terrier (IMP HUN). Best AVNSC Terrier. Group 3. Lovely example of the breed, so well-constructed throughout. Shown in excellent harsh coat & muscular condition. Nice length & strength of head with good furnishings. Pleasing ears of good shape and carried well. Excellent spring of rib and good strength over loin. Nice tail set. Moved soundly coming & going with erect tail carriage.

1 Ruffle’s Holbam Midsummer Knight at Ruffman. Irish Terrier (AI) JW ShCEx OSW. Res Best AVNSC Terrier. Well presented with graceful outline. Nice bone throughout. Good length of head with skull rather narrow between ears and strong muzzle. Nice earset and ears held well; dark eyes. Pleasing length & strength of neck. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Good width of upper & lower thigh; well let-down hocks. Good pigmentation overall. Moved soundly both coming and going.

2 Nind’s Devleigh True Blue. Bedington Terrier. Well presented throughout in good coat and condition. Excellent length of head with good furnishings. Good length of neck and depth of chest. Just needs to fill out but has time. Moved a little close behind.

1 Nettle’s Onziemehurst The Navigator. Border Terrier. Best AV Terrier Puppy. Caught my eye on the first run around the ring. Masculine head with good width of skull. Strong, short muzzle & large teeth. Nice ear carriage. Pleasing length of body with good length of ribcage and strong loin. Good bone & tight feet. Excellent harsh coat and thick skin.

Nice shape of muzzle & skull. Good earset. Medium length of strong neck. Excellent spring of rib and correct cylindrical brisket. Good angulation fore & aft. Good topline. Nice width of upper & lower thigh. Shown in excellent muscular condition and with quality coat. Moved soundly both coming and going. Best Veteran Terrier. Best AV Terrier. Best Veteran In Show.

2 Tadhunter’s Otto The Maverick Prince. West Highland White Terrier. Nice 7.5 year old with pleasing head shape with slightly domed skull, nice strength in muzzle and sufficient furnishings. Good pigmentation throughout. Nice ear shape set sufficiently well apart. Good spring of rib. Strong, short loin. Nice tailset and tail carried well on the move. Coat of good texture throughout. Moved well both coming and going.

2. Goddard’s Gracezheim Bounce Back To Awbrooksky (Border Terrier). Lovely example of the breed and at only 7 months old has all the essentials with a super outline and well-constructed throughout. Well-balanced head and excellent coat texture. Moved soundly coming and going.
