A huge thank you to the committee for inviting me to this lovely show on a lovely ground, the food was great and the hospitality brilliant. I managed to just get finished my breeds before the rain came down. Thank you to all the exhibitors for giving me their lovely dogs to go over and the sportsmanship shown by all was lovely to see.

Lancashire Heeler

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (3,0)

1st Foxthyme Tilly (B) Owned by Mrs S Wiseman – 3 year old girl with a lot to like, well muscled with a nice head and ear, good reach of neck into good shoulders. Small firm and well padded feet, good angulation and moved well to take RBOB.

2nd Skipest Summer Breeze (B) owned by Mrs CA Fairest – this 2 year old girl is fabulous and should have won the class and possibly best of breed but she was nervy on the table and tried to jump off at one point. She has apparently been frightend by a judge which is a real shame and as I did get to sort of go over her once she settled a little, I was happy not to withhold from her. She has a good head, beautiful dark almond eye, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders and is well angulated fore and aft with good muscle throuhout. She moved well on good small, firm well padded feet, with drive and purpose. Is well boned with a cracking coat. Good tail set carried in a curve over her back on the move.

3rd Ribblespride Masquerade Owned by Mr J & Mrs EA Thwaite

1st Ch Ribblespride Ladytron (B) Owned by Mr J & Mrs EA Thwaite – 7 year old girl only slightly showing her age, nice shape and size to her head shape and good ears. Enough reach of neck to good shoulders and she is well angulated fore and aft. Well muscled and moved with drive around the ring to win the class and BOB.

2nd Poolheywood Barney JW Owned by Mrs PF Hughes – Nice 3 year old boy with a good head shape, well angulated, good bone, he has a good coat, level topline held on the move.

3rd Skipest Summer Breeze (B) owned by Mrs CA Fairest

Shetland Sheepdog

Some nice dogs in this breed and the competition was high, often I was splitting hairs to decide my placings and some lovely dogs were down the line, coats were all correct and full despite the time of year and most were of the correct size, although some were short in upper arm. No kinks in tails and it was a pleasure to have so many quality dogs to go over. The ring was a little small and may have been to the detriment of some of the dogs on the move.

Puppy Dog or Bitch (5,1)

1st Tooralie’sVanity pays (B) Owned by Mrs SJ Walker – 7 ½ month old girl who is mature for her age and I hope she does not grow on too much. She has a flat head, which tapers from ear to nose and is the correct blunt wedge shape, enough reach of neck into well laid shoulders and strait front legs. Level top line held on the move. Good oval feet. Moved well to take this lovely class and BPIB. She also took Puppy Group 3

2nd Mohnesee Mr Charming (D) Owned by Mr J Chorlton & Miss A Smith – Well grown 10 month old boy that shows himself well. Has a bit more maturing to do but is a nice shape and has a good long wedge shaped head with rounded muzzle. Enough reach of neck into well laid shoulders strait legs and good oval feet. Moved well but could do with a little more drive.

3rd Highbrook Hotpants (B) Owned by Mr K & Mrs LA Goodwin

Junior Dog or Bitch (5,1)

1st Willowthone’s Roulette JW (B) Owned by Mr R & Miss W Johnson & Miss G Jacobs – Nice young girl at 14 months with a lot to like, good head shape, almond shaped eyes and good ears. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good return of upper arm, well boned and with good feet moved out well holding a level topline on the move, she only lost out in the challenge on maturity.

2nd Tooralie’s Viking Queen (B) Owned by Mrs SJ Walker – This nice bitch is giving a lot away to the winner in maturity and is only 9 months old, has a lot of maturing to do but shape and type are there ready to grow up. Good head shape with enough reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good angulation for and aft. Would like a little more muscle on her but she is still a pup so has plenty of time to come on. Good oval feet and moved OK

3rd Highbrook Hotpants (B) Owned by Mr K & Mrs LA Goodwin

1st Shellamoyd Midnight Max at Savataurus (D) Owned by Mr PJ & Mrs P Savage – 3 year old boy who headed this lovely class and I was splitting hairs with the placings, he has a lovely head with correct almond shaped eye good ears and lovely expression. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, well boned not heavy and well muscled. Good strait legs and good feet, moved out with drive round the ring which earned him RBOB

2nd Shelegian Truly Timeless (B) Owned by Miss J Wade – Nice girl with a lot to like who could have swapped places with the winner or even third on another day. There was a lot to like about all of them. She has a good head, nice almond eye and good ears. Enough reach of neck into well laid shoulder, good angulation fore and aft, level topline held on the move. Moved well.

3rd Willowthorn’s Happy Gaze (D) Owned by Mr R & Miss W Johnson & Miss G Jacobs

Open Dog or Bitch (7,1)

1st Willothorn’s Dream Gazer JW (D) Owned by Mr R & Miss W Johnson & Miss G Jacobs – This boy really belies his age of nearly 8. He drove round the ring on good feet and legs, with a stunning coat on him. His head is a lovely long blunt wedge, he has a good neck into well laid shoulders, has correct angulation fore and aft, he has that look about him that just screams breed type. He holds his topline on the move and is well muscled with no exaggeration anywhere. Pleased to award him BOB and watch him go group 3.

2nd Willowthorn Kobolt Star by Savataurus JW VW IrJunCh/VetCH (D) Owned by Mr PJ & Mrs P Savage – This nearly 9 year old boy is just showing his age a little but is one I have judged before and admired. He is of type, correct size and there is not a lot to dislike about him. His head is lovely and his angulation is spot on. He drives round the ring on good feet and has good but not too heavy bone. He is well muscled despite his age and pushed hard for top honours in this class.

1st Archie Labakan Slovakia JW (Imp SKJ) (D) owned by Mrs LS Brown – this not quite 2 year old boy is of nice breed type, good head with dark pigmentation. Correct size and shape. Good bone, well angulated all round. Level topline held on the move. Good oval feet and moved well round the ring despite its small size. Would like a little more weight on him, but he is young and still growing. BOB and Group 1

2nd Shepwood Gazing at Klouds JW (B) Owned by Mrs GM Brown – Nice 2 year old girl who showed herself well, well angulated with good bone, nice feet, held her topline on the move. Good coat. RBOB
