Thank you to the officers and committee for my invitation to judge Labradors.

Thanks also to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs and for the Group judge liking what I put through.

Puppy (3,2a)

1 Holden’s Flyenpygs in Blankets over Labrotknight JW – 11m Black dog – Brown medium eye, nicely shaped head with defined stop and ears well set. Clean reach of neck, good forechest, plenty of bone and neat round feet. In good double coat, level topline with a well coated tail off the back. Well let down hocks, good turn of stifle, moved with drive once settled. BP, Puppy Group 3

Junior (2,1a)

1 Pickin’s Edenwood Hinch – 17m Chocolate dog – Correct eye colour, masculine head but not overdone, ears well set. Strong neck into well laid shoulder, level topline but tail set off the croup. Good bone and neat feet, in good double coat, well muscled and moved out well. Would prefer to see a little less weight.

Yearling (3,2a)

1 Elvidge’s Pevensie’s Queen Lucy – 17m yellow B – Feminine head with brown eye and good pigment. Clean reach of neck into a well laid shoulder. Enough bone onto neat feet. Level topline whilst standing and on the move, Lacking a little coat today but can see its correct, good turn of stifle and moved out well. Lovely balanced outline. RBOB

Post Graduate (2,0a)

1 Elvidge’s Pevensie’s Queen Lucy – repeat from Yearling

2 Bailey’s Harrop Ravenheart of Marlucove – 3yr Black B – Kind head with intelligent expression, brown eye. Strong neck leading to a level topline and well set on otter tail. Excellent thick double coat, well muscled, moved out well. Preferred forequarters of 1 today.

Limit (1,0a)

1 Baron’s Landebec Ventura JW – 20 m yellow dog – Broad head, brown eye and good pigment. Strong but clean neck leading into well placed shoulders, good front angulation. Enough bone onto neat feet, Level topline with otter tail off the back, short coupled. Losing coat today but still plenty to judge with. Good turn of stifle and in good muscle tone. Moved ok once settled. BOB, Group 2

Open ( 1.0a)

1 Smith’s Flyenpyg Jurgen Chopp JW – 23m Black dog – Masculine head, brown eye, ears used well. Strong neck into well placed shoulders. Excellent forechest, good bone and neat feet. Double coat in harsh condition, level topline leading to a good tail set. Well let down hocks and moved ok once settled.
