EXONIAN CANINE ASSOCIATION – 6/12/25 – Golden Retrievers

Thank you so much to the officers and committee for this invitation to judge Golden Retrievers and for your wonderful hospitality.

Many thanks to the exhibitors for their entries and for allowing me to judge their lovely breed and for the group judge for liking what I put through.

Puppy Dog (3,1a)

1 Bance’s Genvamor Tennessee Waltz – 8 month mid golden, brown eye, dark pigment, correct scissor bite and balanced head. Strong neck leading to a level topline. Right amount of bone for age with round feet. Good turn of stifle, good amount of feathering and coat for age, moved out well. (Best puppy dog)

2 Pollington’s Broeylin Rory – 8 month lighter in coat, head narrower than 1, dark pigment, owner showed me bite due to hesitation, nice round feet and good bone. Good feathering again for a youngster, hocks to strengthen up, moved ok.

Graduate Dog (2,1a)

1 Hurrell’s Kadaka King of Klay – 16 month mid golden, masculine but balanced head, dark pigment, good reach of neck into a level topline. Good amount of bone, well bent stifle but hind quarters still to strengthen up, moved well though.

Limit Dog (9,6a)

1 Main’s Putjade Perran by Gwyngala JW – 22 month old, masculine well balanced head, brown eye with dark pigment. Strong neck leading to a level topline. Shoulders well laid back, plenty of bone with round feet. Good amount of coat and feathering, balanced in outline and moved well. (Reserve best dog)

2 Hurrell’s Klassical Legacy from Double Gold among Gillansgold (imp nld) – 3 yr old shorter in body than 1, smaller but balanced head, brown eye and dark pigment. Fair reach of neck, deep chested, level topline, in good coat condition, moved well.

Open Dog (7,3a)

1 Lewis’ Fairwinds in Space Man JW – 3 year old cream, all male without being overdone. Head well proportioned, brown eye, well set on ears. Clean strong neck leading into well placed shoulders and a level topline. Good forechest with plenty of heart room, well off for bone onto neat round feet. Well bent stifle, good muscle tone. Well presented overall and moved with drive and purpose. (Best dog) BOB, Grp 1

2 Carter’s Kadaka Kauldrun JW – 5 year old mid golden, masculine head with dark pigment. Good reach of neck leading to a level topline. Well off for bone and neat round feet. Strong hind quarters, stifles well bent and moved out well.

Puppy Bitch (6,2a)

1 Northmore’s Pennbeacon Oh no not Susan – 7 month golden just right for her age, feminine well proportioned head, brown eye and dark pigment. Good reach of neck, good forechest with heart room, shoulders well laid back. Level topline, well off for bone and moved well fore and aft. (Best puppy bitch) BP, PG 4

2 Lewis’ Zenevieva Million Dollars for Fairwinds (ai) (ikc) - 7 month cream, narrower head than 1, brown eye and dark pigment. Good reach of neck and good forechest, level topline, longer in body than 1. Enough amount of bone onto round feet, moved ok.

Graduate Bitch (4,2a)

1 Brown’s Louellabrook Love Star – 13 month cream, feminine head, brown eye and dark pigment. Clean reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Enough amount of bone on round feet, level topline, front and back angulations correct, strong loin with good muscle tone throughout. Presented and moved out well. (Reserve best bitch)

2 Hewitson’s Seruilia Society Girl – 13 month mid golden, balanced but stronger head than 1, strong neck leading into a level topline. Longer in body and more of it, good amount of bone, round feet, plenty of coat. Good forechest and heart room, moved ok.

Limit Bitch (6,3a)

1 Brown’s Louellabrook Love Star – repeat from Graduate (fluid movement)

2 Thomas’ Santandore Honesty – 6 year old cream, feminine head with brown eye and dark pigment. Good reach of neck, and ample forechest. Good amount of bone, front feet slightly turning out. Level topline, good turn of stifle and moved well.

Open Bitch (7,4a)

1 Smyth’s Kadaka Krumpet JW – 2 year old mid golden, feminine head with brown eye and dark pigment. Good amount of bone onto beautiful round feet. Front assembly good with ample forechest, clean reach of neck into a level topline. Well balanced creating a lovely outline, moved well fore and aft. (Best bitch and Best Opposite sex)
