My thanks to the society for the invitation to judge at your lovely show. Thanks also to my steward who kept the ring running efficiently.

Briard

O (3,0) 1 Webb’s Ch Barronoaks Etta Bagel ShCEx A lovely bitch and on looking in the catalogue I’m not surprised she is a Champion. On the stand she has lovely balance which is carried through in her movement being effortless and supple. Good strength of head without being coarse and lovely kind eye. Good length of neck leading to correct body portions. All topped off with a well presented and finished jacket. BOB 2 Peirsons’ Jandade Roi Charles Imposing male, another presenting a typical outline. Lovely head pattern with kind eye and good bite. Strong and muscular neck leading to well laid back shoulders. A little unsettled today indoors on the stand but moved out well with reach and drive. Would like to see him carrying a little less weight. RBOB 3 Wilson’s Jandade Precious Secret JW

Old English Sheepdog

P (2,1) 1 Deakin’s Amblehart Mr Banks at Darwillow 10-month-old boy who is at the top size of the standard but still in proportion presenting a good square outline. Pleasing head with strength to muzzle and correct bite. Well laid back shoulders with plenty of bone. Good turn of stifle and well let down hocks. Moved out well and lovely presentation. BP

J (1,0) 1 Spurlings’ Jelabobs Paco Rabanne for Dantrecar 13-month-old male who is very promising. Good strength to head with appealing expression. Has strength and length of neck leading to well laid back shoulders. Compact body with well sprung ribs. Nicely let down hocks. He moved out round the ring well. Good texture of coat and well presented.

PG (3,1) 1 Rutland & Porter’s Mellowdee Diamond Lil JW Two lovely girls that I see are litter mates and there is not much to chose between them. Lovely shape and type with a super head and kind expression. Correct bite with nicely sized teeth. Compact body with straight forelegs and good amount of bone. Lovely movement that was very fluid and easy to watch. BOB 2 Leggetts’ Mellowdee Sapphire Moon avec Meldale JW Similar comments apply to this lovely girl. Again, she had a lovely strong head with correct bite and kind expression. Well laid back shoulders and gently rising topline. Well presented in good coat. Just felt that 1 had the edge on movement today although I’m sure they change places many times.

O (1,0) 1 Meldale Diamond Moon. Feminine girl with good head pattern and kind eye. Strength to muzzle with correct bite. Short compact body with well fitted elbows. Correct rise to back with rounded muscular rear. Surprised to see in the catalogue that this girl is a veteran proving the longevity of the breed. RBOB

Swedish Vallhund

J (2,0) 1 Mcardles’ Starvon Get the Drinks in for Manscreebe Typy young masculine dog, presenting a nice shape on the stand, being sturdy and with good length of body. Clean cut head with strong jaw and muzzle and correct bite. Well set ears. Good lay back of shoulders and moved out in a positive manner. BOB 2 Lampen & Wilson’s Vallhollow Born in the USA St for Rosco (Imp USA) 10 month old male who I am sure will have a bright future. Lots to like about this boy including his clean cut head, with correct wedge shape. Good lay back of shoulder with good bone. Moved out well. BP

O (2,1) 1 Barnes & King’s Ch Starvon Fame Awaits for Izlou JW Feminine girl being finer boned than the two boys present today. Good head with nice length of neck leading to correct length of back. Nicely angulated rear. Very much on her toes with positive movement. A little distracted today as I understand her normal handler was in an adjacent ring. RBOB
