PASTORAL GROUP

It was an honour and a privilege to be asked to judge the Pastoral breeds and group at this lovely friendly show.

The dogs I saw were without exception excellent quality and would not be out of place in top level competition. Quite a few were veterans and in peak condition. All were clean and well-presented, and temperaments were sound throughout.

The line ups for the groups and in the variety, class were exceptional, I was spoilt for choice.

My Best veteran in group took reserve best veteran in show and my RBOB group winner took Best RBOB in show, congratulations.

I thank you all for the entries.

She has such a beautiful head and melting expression enhanced by lovely dark eyes. Moderate bone for her size with excellent shoulder placement and good front. Good length to height ratios and correct topline. Strong loin and neat short hocks. Moved very well around the ring.

2nd BURT, MS E L - AUSSIAME HOT TO TROT JW

Masculine head of good proportions with well set ears and good eye shape. Moderate bone and straight front with good feet. Well laid shoulders. Correct topline and slightly sloping croup. Well-muscled hindquarters.

Well sprung ribs and level topline. Strong well-muscled hindquarters which he used well to move around the ring. Very sound from all angles.

pleasing bitch of good type. Needs to settle to get the best out of her. Lovely feminine head and expression. Well-proportioned head and with good eye and shape. Well off for bone and good shoulders. Well-proportioned body.

Really felt this puppy settled well in the class and was at one with her handler making it easy to evaluate her. Good head proportions with lovely expression and dark eyes. she has a good arch of neck and good length coming from his rib which enabled him to maintain a strong topline at all times. Good layback of shoulder and return of upper arm balanced with his rear angulation. Was the most settled in the class on the move really showing his reach and drive, pleased to award her) BP, puppy group 4

Wow A first class and boy , stunning in all departments, masculine head with dark eyes which have a soft expression conveying friendliness. Correct ear carriage. Lovely medium strong neck leading to moderately laid-back shoulders, balanced front and rear, straight and parallel in forelegs, strong well boned with moderate angles in the rear with muscular thighs. Strong level topline and a moderate spring to rib, muscular loin, slight tuck up. High set to tail which he carried over her back on the move which he did with ease in the hall. Super condition.

Very pleasing 9 months old. What a beautiful baby, still retaining a monkey mask. Head good, very pretty with nice dark pigmentation. Super front and rear movement excellent. Moved extremely well.

Slightly smaller and more compact than first place but still within standard. Correct head with lovely soft expression. Ears, eyes, pigment all good. Moved extremely well.

Young boy who still has some maturing to do but I liked his overall type and style.pleasing head which is elegant and clean back. Good flat skull with well-placed small ears which she uses well. Dark eye correctly set obliquely. Excellent shoulder placement. Good front assembly. Nice bone and feet. Good depth of chest and has enough substance. Well set tail. Moved well.

2nd PROUT - LAVIKA BLACK SEA AT FURZELAND

Nice male. Quality through. Not an easy colour to see that desired expression, but this young dog has a really lovely head of good proportions and planes, correct eye shape and set and good ears which give him the desired look. Well made front. Correct topline and croup. Well set tail. IN good coat with good harsh top coat. Needs to settle a fraction in front action.

square outline with a compact body and this lad definitely fits that definition. Gorgeous alert expression, good use of ears, bright correctly shaped dark eyes and a good wedge head shape. The neck is moderately arched, topline is level and the tail set is good with a tight curl. Good pasterns and appropriate angles on the legs. On the move she moved freely and with purpose.

in lovely condition. Lovely wedge shaped head with dark eyes, alert ears and a sparkling, lively expression. correct bite. Nicely angulated shoulders and his neck flowed into her topline. Good breadth of chest, nice bone going down to lovely oval feet. Moved well in all directions.

Black male who presents a typical, well-balanced square outline. excellent example. Head is correctly small yet expressive, enhanced by a large black nose and dark eyes. Excellent dentition and mouth pigmentation, especially praiseworthy for his age. Ears are well set, blending into the head’s outline. Moderate neck with a level and firm topline. Balanced angulation with good depth of chest. His coat is full-length and beautifully corded - cords are well formed, consistent in texture, and hang evenly without felting or clumping, Movement is sound in all directions, - a joy to watch.

Wow what a class, all shown in superb condition, and placings could easily change on any other day. Several in the class were Veterans and they certainly held their own against the youngsters.

Both 1st and 2nd in this class caught my eye as soon as they entered the ring, and they showed their socks off from the moment they entered the ring and didn’t stop until after they left.

What a show girl, my notes say what a Welsh should be, perfection from head to paw, shown in excellent condition moved with enthusiasm and drive, just didn’t stop showing for her handler.

loved her outline. Feminine yet strong with no exaggeration. Lovely head, clean neck into lovely front assembly with plenty heart-room. Long keel and ribbed well back, legs well under her and good bone. Strong topline, excellent width thigh and strong rear with excellent hocks. Moved well in all directions.
