Spire Toy Dog Society 02.11.2025

Thank you to the society for this invitation to judge. I have always enjoyed coming to this show, it was one of the first shows I ever exhibited at and over the years I have also completed multiple stewarding appointments here. Thank you to the exhibitors for your entry and to the stewards, Megan and Lisa who kept the ring organised.

English Toy Terriers:

Puppy D/B (2,1)

1st- Marsdens – Regalriver Big Bad She Wolf

A very feminine 7 month old bitch puppy. She has an elongated skull which is narrow with a slight stop and tight lips. Her ears are set correctly and at times used them to her advantage. Lovely dark pigment throughout. Correct scissor bite. She has a long graceful neck with straight front and forelegs of fine bone. Thumb prints and pencilling to toes defined. Narrow in chest with brisket down to elbow. Rounded buttock with low tail set. Her coat was gleaming. Moved ok today, just needs more time to gain more confidence in the ring.

Junior D/B (3,0)

1st – Leonards – Witchstone Nasabe Strikes Back

11 months old male puppy. Alert and ready to complete his job. Elongated skull with slight stop. Correct scissor bite. Candle flame ears that were used to his advantage throughout. Correct almond shape dark eyes. Tightly compressed lips. Good length of neck, good lay of shoulder. Legs straight down from shoulders giving the desired straight front. Front accompanied with thumbprints and pencilling. Narrow chest with good depth. Great coat condition. Raven black shining and rich tan. Good angulations to hind quarters. On the move he was parallel with reach and drive showing extended trot. Very precise mover and eye catching. A smart dog that is of champion quality. RBOB/BPIB and BPIS 3.

2nd – Marsdens –Regalriver Big Bad She Wolf – Repeat of Puppy.

3rd – Pendlebury’s - Wykewoks Autumunl Sunsetta of Pendlethrine

Post Graduate D/B (4,0)

1st – Green & Leonards – Lady In Black at Witchstone

Another eye catching exhibit. One I have seen before from the ring side, and she is quality. On the stand she makes a lovely silhouette. She is a lovely size and very feminine. Lovely head piece, correct set candle flamed ears. She is alert and really draws your eye to her. Correct scissor bite, tight lips. Good shape to skull. Correct long graceful neck, into well sloped shoulders. Straight fore chest with forelegs falling straight from shoulder. Thumbprints are beginning to run but are apparent as is the pencilling to toes. Narrow chest which is deep. Her top line was correct with the very slight curve from behind shoulder to loin. Accompanied with rounded rump and correct tail set. She has a great turn of stifle. She won this class on type and construction. If she can settle more on the move, I can see her going very far.

2nd – Cadman & Jarvis – Pippahouse Tiny Shadow

Almost 2 years old male. A different type to 1st. He has a lovely shaped skull, which is more elongated giving the wedge shaped appearance. Good well set ears, held correctly. Scissor bite. His eyes were dark and sparkling, but would prefer them slightly smaller. Good length of neck with slight arch. Straight fore chest. Would have liked more tan to chest but thumbprints and pencilling apparent. Narrow chest with depth. Good low tail set and held correctly. He moved ok today. This young male just needs a bit more time and confidence and that will really help him shine.

3rd – Marsdens – Galvizach Royal Amethyst of Regalriver

Open D/B (5,1)

1st – Loves – Lasagesse Whole Lotta Love with Tettoy JW

20 months ultra feminine bitch. Fine boned but capable of completing her original job. I loved her silhouette and size. Elongated skull which was narrow and wedge shaped. Scissor bite and sparkling eyes. Lovely dark pigment throughout. Tight compressed lips. High set candle flamed ears which were used at all times. Good length of neck leading into well laid shoulders. Front legs coming straight down from shoulder to give the desired straight front. Thumbprints would complete the picture. Deep narrowed chest with short cut up loin. Slight curve to back from behind shoulder to loin with rounded rump. Muscled hind quarters with good turn of stifle behind. She moved very well with extended trot. Another eye catching dog who is also champion quality. BOB and group shortlist.

2nd – Greens – Three times a Lady

Very similar in attributes to her sister – who was 1st in PG. Very typey and feminine. Loved her silhouette. Great skull, lovely long graceful neck. Well laid shoulders, straight front. Thumb prints and pencilling with compact feet. Deep narrow brisket, cut up loin. Rounded rump, good tail set. Moderate angulations to hind quarters. Lovely coat and condition. Both sisters are a real asset to this kennel. Again, a real eye catcher and a quality bitch for type and construction. She just needs to settle more on the move but can see she has good reach and drive.

3rd – Oakdens – Spawood Hey Mickey
