Camberley & District Canine Society

Breed: Miniature Schnauzer

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Camberley and District Canine society for inviting me to judge at their November open show.

I would also like to thank my two stewards who did an amazing job in keeping the ring running so smoothly.

Puppy

1st – Beckson’s, Wlanimus Marked for Greatness NAF TAF

6 month-old male at his first open show, which he handled well. Black and silver with a coat of good colour and texture. Displaying a masculine head for his age, showing balanced proportions, a correct scissor bite. He has a nice dark eye and neat ears, though I would have liked to see him use them a little more today. A moderate neck flowing into a good topline, and presents an attractive outline both standing and on the move. Moves soundly and freely in profile. A nice young dog who I am sure will continue to improve with maturity. Best Puppy in Breed. (Was nice to see he also got puppy group 4.)

Post Graduate

1st – Saunders, Cleopatra Thea

2-year-old black bitch of excellent colour and coat texture, well-presented and shown to advantage. She has a feminine head with a dark eye and a keen expression, though she was a little distracted by her surroundings today. Neat, well-set ears which she used to good effect, and a correct scissor bite.  She is nearly square in outline and well ribbed, showing balanced proportions. Displays good hindquarter angulation, allowing her to move with purpose and drive. Covered the ground well in all directions. Reserve Best of Breed

2nd - Beckson’s, Wlanimus Jointly To Your Success with Tammux (Imp)

1 year old black and silver bitch of pleasing type. Displays good head proportions with a dark eye, neat ears and a keen, alert expression. Correct scissor bite. A smart, balanced youngster with everything in the right place, though she would benefit from a little more time to mature. Moved out well, showing better freedom and reach in profile than up and back.

Limit

1st McDonald’s, Risepark First Lady of Heibri JW

1 year old Pepper and Salt bitch of pleasing type, presented in excellent condition with a super short, harsh jacket of good colour and correct banding. Displays a well-proportioned head, dark eye, and keen expression. Neat ears, though I would have liked to see her use them a little more today. A moderately arched neck, creating a balanced outline with a gently sloping topline. Well-set tail that was carried high. Moved out well in profile, maintaining her shape on the move.

2nd Beckson’s, Tammux After Dark

1 year old– Black and silver dog of good type with a masculine head, smart V-shaped ears, correct scissor bite, and a strong jaw. Neck well set on good shoulders, with enough spring of rib. Almost square outline with a slight slope to the topline and a well-set tail. Moved with purpose and confidence, maintaining his shape on the move.

Open

1st Parker, Saunders, McDonalds, Risepark First stage JW.

1 year old - Pepper and Salt dog who caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring and won this class with ease. He has a masculine head with a correct scissor bite, dark eyes and a keen, alert expression. Has a good reach of neck, with ample fore chest and well-sprung ribs. Presents a typical, balanced outline, almost square in profile, and was shown in a tight, harsh, well-banded jacket. He embodies the true Miniature Schnauzer attitude, moving around the ring as though he owned it. Once settled, he moved out freely in all directions. I have admired this dog from afar, and it was a pleasure to go over him today—he did not disappoint. Best of Breed. (Was nice to see he also got Utility group 2.)
